  1. Ive got one of those too. And, I fully expect that tag line during a commercial tonight.
  2. If you wanted aftermarket, these seem to be highly rated (macbwt approved as well): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PTVQ9I2 $35 for two of them, shipped: https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/monroe,901848,lift+support,1404 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CqnmfIjmoqo
  3. Because I have ninja-like google skills: http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=6598 https://www.f150forum.com/f118/add-heated-steering-wheel-314154/ These should get you started and headed in the right direction.
  4. Heres the link for 3.10 (its on you if something goes wrong as its not a public Ford release): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71250920&postcount=834&nocache=1 You should be able to download 3.08 from Syncmyride under your account. 4.29.12285 is sync version 3.5.1. Quite a few revisions behind the current version. For your reference: Sync v3.6.2 (build 13171), v3.7.1 (build 14122), v3.8 (build 15128) and 3.10 (build 16180).
  5. Good point. Keep in mind that youll need the new screen, GPS antenna, usb hub and bezel as well with that upgraded APIM.
  6. You can upgrade it with minimal effort on your part (you assume any risk): https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71250920&postcount=834&nocache=1 Keep in mind, the nav license is for 3.08 and this update may remove it. I would stay on 3.08 as 3.10 has no tangible benefits. You can simple insert the a8 card and you will have the newest maps. Youll need to put in your configuration via forscan to program it (I can help if need be). Youll need the OBD adapter. I dont see why it wouldnt power up as youd be getting a new APIM (unless your problem is something else).
  7. Going to toot my own horn (Im ashamed... a little): http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23190-fs-sync-2-v38-all-components/?do=findComment&comment=177144 You just need to reprogram with your as built data. Use FORScan. But, I have it programmed with license for OEM Navigation. Youll want to keep that.
  8. Nope. Again, the sync updates are more to add app features or address bugs in the sync program itself, it does not altar the APIM, which contains the unique features fingerprint of your car. If you had to replace your APIM, your dealer would use your as built data and overwrite the replacement APIM. Then it would as if your car was from the factory. When the Waze app is updated to work with ford AppLink, instructions will be posted here amongst many other places.
  9. Yes, I installed a SYNC 3 APIM & screen in my 2012. Updates have nothing to do with what options are available to control from within sync. Those controls are enable or disabled from within the APIM which is not altered during an update.
  10. My information doesnt change. My APIM thinks its a 2017, its no different. Im quite versed in this, but have at it...
  11. Updates dont change the theme. If you have an OEM lincoln it would stay that way. If youre good with FORScan you can change the theme (lincoln, ford, GT, etc).
  12. Ive got my sync3 that I installed in my 2012 (replacing MFT) running v3.0. There are plenty of links to obtaining the v3.0 but your best bet is here: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41251. These releases are a result of developers pulling them off a 2018 and re-packaging for distribution. Youre doing this at your own risk as it is not an official ford release!!!! See what I did there? Also, Waze is not released on any ford vehicle yet, 3.0 or otherwise. Just to blow your mind, 2018 fords in China are being delivered with sync v3.2 installed.
  13. No, the maps are loaded onto the internal memory (32gb for the US and 64gb for Europe).
  14. For shits and giggles, try this procedure for the fob: Procedure : 1.Close all doors, then open drivers door and press the Unlock button on drivers door while it is open, insert key into ignition. 2.Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 8 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (if the door locks do not cycle, then it was done incorrectly. You must start over by removing key and beginning from step 1) (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.) 3.Within 10 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 5. 4.Within 10 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 4. for all other remotes. 5.Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
  15. Im a turd and this was my fault. I updated the thread title. The revised Waze app should be launched in March.
  16. Yup, I misunderstood. If it is conformance coating (relatively clear) the. You can use acetone (nail polish remover). If it is silicon caulk (opaque, thicker application) then grab some vm&p naptha at a hardware store. Just use a q-tip and keep swabbing the adhesive layer. Seems excessive, you sure the correct learning procedure was followed? Does any part of the IKT work? They key nor the fob isnt working? Ive found that there are two learning procedure, one for the PATS key and another for the fob/buttons.
  17. Ive never seen one glued together, but have a look here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bashlEcaIw0

  19. Yes, cup holders should be lit up (2 leds in the rear and 1 in the front). Here's the location for the LEDs for ambient lighting: · Cupholders (located in the center console) · Storage compartment(s)/map pocket (located in the center console) · Front footwells (located under the instrument panel) · Rear footwells (located in the rear of the center console) · Inside pull handles (located in each door trim panel) · Door map pockets (located in each door trim panel)
  20. Ha... Last night driving home, a Toyota with purple HID bulbs drove over the speed bump in the mall as my wife and I were leaving. Her exact words "ooh they look pretty on the car but does it bother your eyes too"? She's working on it.
  21. Of course. I may have incorrectly assumed (the saying is true) that a majority of the forum is comprised of members from the US and Canada. Oddly enough, when Im driving in Ireland (Im there 6-8 times per year on business), I dont think about my headlight patterns. Naturally, I will now.
  22. I keep coming back to this thread and laughing about vehicle awareness. I too have a fear of sentient vehicles (damn terminator movies). Is their any type of air bubble, obstruction or anything else on or in the glass that the sensor might mistake as rain?
  23. The 2014 uses an HIR2 bulb, which is a 9012 bulb. You can use a 9006/HB4 bulb and it will fit. The only difference is that a 9012 has a wider top tab than a 9006.
  24. Depending on what the issue is, you can try this: https://m.ebay.com/itm/2007-2015-Lincoln-Ford-MKX-EDGE-KEYLESS-Door-Keypad-REPAIR-Stickers-Worn-Buttons-/182059829628 If not, depending on what color your car is, you can replace the entire assembly: https://www.tascaparts.com/?p=catalog&mode=search&search_in=all&search_str=BA1Z-14A626-A
  25. The left should run lower as it keeps the drivers side headlight directly out of of the field of vision of oncoming traffic.
