  1. So, I have to ask. Why stabilus over Monroe or vice versa?
  2. Why not just install 18025 over top of it? No need to go from 3.0 > 2.3 > 3.0.
  3. Suddenly recalling borrowing my brothers 86 bronco to go camping in high school. Needless to say, I wish febresze was invented 25 years ago.
  4. Ive been using a similar solution to this (when needed) for almost 6 years. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KVXZCBM
  5. Looks like it would be pretty comfortable. Ive camped 20-30 times with my Edge. However, its only been used to tr sport our tents and all the gear. The only time I (or my wife) have slept in the Edge is when one of our kids wouldnt sleep in the tent (they were under 2 or so at the time). We simply put the seat back and dealt with it. This seems like a comfortable solution. Whats the cost? It seems as though any inflatable mattress (as long as its not one of those tall ones) would be similar and low cost.
  6. I have to rehash this thread. Has anyone that has done this still have all the source options listed under entertainment in the IPC? Ever since Ive done this, I only have AM/FM, Sirius and CD. My USB 1, USB 2, BT Stereo are all missing. For the life of me, I cannot them to display. However, if I plug in my iPod (yeah, I still have one) it displays the songs in the IPC. But, if I then switch to radio or Sirius, its no longer able to be selected from the IPC (it is still not recognized as an attached device).
  7. I have the diode dynamic switchbacks. I really feel they give me some usable side lllumination. They dont annoy nor distract oncoming traffic either.
  8. I will say that the v1 lights actually had horizontal light throw that would illuminate the sides (they were the Phillip led drop in kids that he epoxied into the ford housings). The v2s have more of a vertical light beam pattern. I will clarify. Usable in the fact they actually function as DRL. You do get some side illumination, but not much. Now, my switchbacks actually give off some light and do a decent job of filling in some dark spots. My apologies, again, if my initial description was misleading. I havent moved my headlight switch from auto since driving off the light 6 years ago (well, thats a lie... my dealer turns it off during service for one reason or another).
  9. Thats why I put dans DRLs in place of the light tubes in my 2012 the second he made them (I believe cellbine and I were the first adopters of v1). Some actual usable light.
  10. True. It would be great to see a true differentiation amongst fog lights, DRLs, and led decorative lights. As it is now, form and function aside, its glaringly (pun intended) obvious to see other cars around you, day or might. There will always be those who will make them brighter or more purple, if it is a standard bulb size (or even if another bulb can be modified to work). I had a 84 golf and a 98 Jetta that had real, functional, yellow, fogs. I miss those...
  11. I disagree there. Having driven through numerous European countries in some really crappy weather, its great to have the added visibility of the car in front of you when driving through some back roads or mountain passes (saved me a few times in Brocken and Berlin last year). If implemented correctly, they are a huge asset to your cars visibility.
  12. Deleted (even though I may have double posted). Sorry Todd,l, I had to reread your comment before your intention dawned on me. You are correct, misuse of fog lamps are annoying. Changing the color spectrum far away from its intended range (yellow), even more so.
  13. Of course, I can get a hell of a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it. +3 on the rock, debris, etc.
  14. I mean, Ive been utilizing my TRS 55w kits since day one (almost 6 years). Not so much as a hiccup, Yes, theyre over-driven 35w bulbs, but the more Intense hotspot on the 5000k bulbs give it the perfect, close to 4300k color.
  15. No worries. I look for any excuse to use those emojis.
  16. At this rate, Ill have my Edge for a long time. Ive been averaging 10k miles/year and have each milestone service that Mac performs bookmarked. In all fairness my car spends more time parked at the airport than on the road. I still find it funny that Ford sends me a quote for a 2018 Edge with a trade-in for my 2012 every time I get my services performed. I only have 4 or so more pre-paid services with Ford, so Ill save a bunch when it comes time to perform the high mileage services.
  17. Absolutely go HID! Installation of the HIDs is a breeze. Im a fan of the TRS morimoto kits but some have had luck with the far less expensive DDM kits (many others have not). Id be remiss if I didnt recommend Dans kit, which appear to be quite good: http://drivebright.com/home/shop/hid-headlight-replacement-kit-new/ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IaSHmVp-2b8
  18. Theres a new build (18025) floating around. Its directly from the ford binaries site. Change log: 1. sound quality improvement over older versions especially build 17276 2. improvements/bug fixes for voice recognition 3. bug fix over ios 11.2.5 with applink connectivity issues
  19. FORScan is free and the OBD adapter can be purchased for $30 or so on amazon. Just download your as built data and load it into FORScan and send it to your APIM with the adapter. 10-15 minutes of effort and your good to go. Im out on business until tomorrow, but do some googling and look in the mods section and youll see how to get it done. If you cant find the links, Ill send some later this week. Theres also a few links in this sub. All APIMs either start as a clean state if you buy new or they are programmed for the donor vehicle they came from. Like I said already, the APIMs are simply loaded with your vehicles as built data, generated at the factory, linked to your VIN. Its not plug and play but not much more difficult than that. Your local dealer should be able to do it in IDS for 30-60 minute labor charge, assuming you swap out the APIM yourself.
  20. Keep in mind the APIM is separate from the screen. The APIM will universally work with any ford (as long as it was for an OEM 8 MFT/Sync 2 system). Youll need the dealer (or you can very easily do it yourself using FORScan) to program it to your cars as built specs (you can download the .ab file from Ford). The screens themselves are different, depending on the vehicle (the side bezels differ). Edge, explorer, flex, Taurus and a few of the pickups share the same screen mount. My MFT APIM from my 2012 was CT4T-14F239-AB.
  21. You mean the bumpers? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DU0O00W
  22. Youll have to change around the part numbers a bit (the middle section of the part numbers are universal, whereas the first 4 digits are specific to a model).
