Help with 2012 Edge Sport HID's...
candurin replied to KingMike's topic in Accessories & Modifications
You can go with either, but you have to ask if you want quality vs price. DDM will suffice, but some have had issues. DDM service is abysmal compared to TRS. TRS is a high quality, well supported kit. I have used DDM for well over 10 years with no issues, but as you can see in my sig, I haev since gone over to the morimotos. You want the Relay harness (edge's do not need the can-bus harness, as the edge will not throw a bulb-out code when changed to HID). You really only need the harness if you select a 55W ballast, but it's not a bad idea to install either way (with a 35W). http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11795-hid-kits-ddm-tuning-or-morimoto/ -
Oh sh!t.... Sorry dawgs! I didn't realize I linked the CK bulbs. I meant to link the standard ones. Again, my sincere apologies.

Can you provide more details? DDM should have worked fine. -
Oh. 6 ohm.
-
2 or 4 bulb what? You just need the 6 ohm resistors. My wife pretty much shakes her head ALL the time, so adding the mods to the car didn't make a difference in her opinion overall.

The resistors are NECESSARY or you will not be able to get the white lights working (amber will still work) due to the inherent voltage in the lines. They take 15 seconds to install (line up the wires and clamp the scotchloks).

Bushwacker 114001 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CSQQDW/ I've got a photo of it in one of my posts (con't remember which one).

I do have the morimotos. I recall there were some extra components that were not used (and there is also a free/unused connector on my passenger side that I zip tied). I'll have to look under the hood to check the wire colors, but as I am Germany now it will have to wait until I get back home next week.

Yes, very much a hint of blue (more blue than white, actually). Almost everyone on here who went with 6k has been disappointed and switched to 5k). Typical OEM kis are 4300k. Pure white will be 5k @ 50w. Search through my old posts for color vs wattage. I am thrilled with my setup. Zero blue, crystal white output (I know, adjectives are tough when describing white). In my opinion, 6k is an awful waste of money and dangerous on wet roads. Can't see sh!t.

Correct. Just get that kit (you could go with a DDM or another brand as well, but I'm glad you're going with TRS) with the 9006 bulbs and select the Heavy Duty Relay harness. Note: I don't recommend anything higher than 5K but, again, that's your choice. One last thing... You can save a few $ by purchasing the kit on ebay and make them an offer (it's sold directly by them). http://www.ebay.com/itm/MORIMOTO-9006-ELITE-HID-SYSTEM-3FIVE-BALLASTS-RELAY-KIT-5000K-XENON-BULBS-/261002427193?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc4f4fb39&vxp=mtr You can also request that they include the 50W kit instead of the 35W if that is what you decideyou want.
