I think we tried that with the LEDs no? Maybe Akirby can get a how-to specific forum started? Not sure if "disclaimers" are required, but perhaps a "mod at your own risk" forum could be helpful. You've got my vote...

Sean, I linked a good YouTube video and wwwperf added some links in this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11588-remove-front-bumper-on-2013-edge Cellbine confirmed the removal is almost identical (sans a few extra bolts) do the 2011+ edges. I'll try and snap some photos next week when I have a go at it.

My pleasure. Just have your wife send me some amazing Korean recipes that we can cook at home (arguably my wife's favorite cuisine).

Man! I wish my bumper didn't come out like crap when I tried to mask it. That's why I am going to resort to taking the bumper off. It kept peeling off the PD when I removed the tape. Oh well. Bumper removal seems easy enough.

Feinstein, do you have a link to the DOT "white" definition? I've searched all over.

They put the headphone jack... On the bottom! (mind blown). I truly hope that reference needs no explanation. -
The US DOT calls white, "white" with no definition of what constitutes "white". You're good to go in the US. Here's the light color regulations for EU (and UN): http://www.unece.org/fileadmin/DAM/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/r087r2e.pdf The color (white) requirement is on page 11, section 9.0, while the test procedure for determining the color in section 10 (pages 11-12). Page 22 (Annex 4) details what "white" actually is. Thanks for taking the fun out of this Feirstein I am so looking forward to "DTBL vs Feirstein" to be on a supreme court docket! P.S. Cellbine, don't give Dan's name should they cuff you for rolling with "off-white" lights in Germany!!!

Led Light bar install

Email the photos to Prinzll and have him post them -
I spend more money reading your posts... My kids have to go to county college now.

Something to be said for popularity! Dan was hand building and testing every pair individually. Not too mention his costs were probably higher. Mass production will always be cheaper to the end user (I imagine Dan had to commit to a certain batch size, so it costs him more upfront). I too paid more for my 1st editions, but they've been worth it. I'm glad to see DTBL is doing as well as they are. I got my order in for my v2's!

What's up with the new headlights? You go with halos?

Right? It was meant to be!

Here's a great video detailing bumper removal. The 2011+ should be almost identical, with the exception of slightly different screws (and more of them) underneath the bumper.

If you hold the steering wheel toggle up or down it will then go to the next available station, which for Sirius would be the next sequential number. You can simply hold it up or down and then stop when you hit the station you want. Seems tedious when you only want to go up by one station/number but it works. That works on my non-Sony mft system. I don't know about the Sony. It should.

Headlight question
candurin replied to JSR84's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
What brand kit? DDM? 35 or 55w kit? Did you install a wire harness? Are you certain both bulbs are seated and locked correctly? What your describing can be attributed to a bulb that is a bit (off) an simply needs to be reinstalled. I course it could also be bulb anomalies/differences between the two, but I would try and rule out anything else first. The more info you can give, the better. -
Just redid my front wheel. The was the one with the bubble in the application which tore and peeled immediately. The PD peeled off the wheel easily and in one big sheet. Kinda neat, actually. Now it's perfect and I touched up the holidays in the other 3 wheels. Couldn't be happier with the results!!

Cellbine, the video was GREAT! Just finished up my wheels: Before: After (if you've got 20/20 and can see the "messed up" part on the bottom of the wheel, that is where I gouged the plastic chrome curbing the wheel, in fact, the P-D makes it look 1000 times better): Only 1 wheel has a small bubble/stretch point. You cannot see it nor will anyone notice it unless your right on top of it. I'll wait for it to become an issue and then re-apply. It just sucks that I know it's there. Just a few personal experiences: 1. I did the front grille at the same time. While removing my blue tape, I peeled up the plastic in some spots and therefore got real pissed and removed all the dip from the front of the car. Next time, I'm removing the grille and bumper and going at it that way. Maybe I'm just f-in' awful at masking. Anyone care to make a front bumper removal or P-Dipping the grille video? 2. 90% preparation and 10% spraying 3. I am truly glad that Cellbine mentioned in his video to readjust the rotor bags after rolling the car forward. The bags on 2 of the wheel shifted and I almost starting spraying before checking and re-securing. 4. Using the Rustoleum comfort grip was NOT a good idea. It does not add enough pressure on the P-D trigger to allow the full spray to come out of the can (i.e. you get a much weaker spray when using the grip). It really wasn't needed as the P-D finger spray button is larger and quite comfortable to use in and of itself. 5. Had fun doing it... Again, thanks Cellbine!

I've had zero issues. Well, one. Originally I purchased the DDM 55w kit and the harness melted and then the ballast went (I've been a strong supporter of ddm for many years, but that was the last straw). Other members have no problems with DDM and you can't beat the price. I installed the 50w TRS kit and everything works perfectly. Zero issues, Auto headlights work perfect and never had a misfire on any ballast period. I've had my morimotos in for about a year.

Well... I am willing to man up when I am wrong (luckily I called myself out after researching!): You can see a few subtle differences in the projector and shroud (I'm sure there are a few other small differences). Here's some links to ebay auctions with great close ups of the assemblies. You will definitely see some differences. HID: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-2012-FORD-EDGE-LEFT-DRIVER-SIDE-XENON-HID-HEADLIGHT-OEM-/140953605381?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20d17d5505&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-2012-2013-11-12-FORD-EDGE-LEFT-DRIVER-XENON-HEADLIGHT-HEADLAMP-HEAD-LIGHT-/111063456167?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item19dbe5d9a7&vxp=mtr Halogen: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-2012-FORD-EDGE-LH-DRIVER-HEADLIGHT-OEM-101-/330905677629?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0b83ef3d&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-EDGE-RH-HEADLIGHT-11-12-2011-2012-USED-HALOGEN-/360517894841?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item53f08a82b9&vxp=mtr Again, my apologies for misleading, I should have done my homework first.. I still have no issues with anyone putting HIDs in the halogen (PROJECTORS ONLY). Prinzll - Hope the photos help...?

Yes, retrofitting a halogen REFLECTOR is a big deal and a major distraction to other drivers. Retrofitting a halogen PROJECTOR is not. I have a perfect cutoff, have never been flashed and you wouldn't know it wasn't OEM. I would also bet that the OEM halogen & OEM HID use the identical assemblies and projectors. I would gather the diagram in the manual details the difference between the bulbs and light output in general, not a difference in physical projectors. The callout numbers are identical for both versions (13008). Halogen: http://www.wholesalefordparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=1145335 HID: http://www.wholesalefordparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=1141245 Not to mention the OEM halogens have the spot built in for the hid ballasts (again they are the identical housings and projectors). So, feel free to retrofit your halogens to HIDs with no worries...
