  1. I ordered from one of the local truck accessories store. It's also available on Amazon.
  2. Here is a pic of the AVS I just installed
  3. Picking out a bug deflector that looked good for my Edge was hard, as no one in Alaska just carries them in stock. I've always had one on my trucks, so I needed to find a nice one for my Edge. I orignally picked out the EGR bug deflector, but when the part arrived, it was an AVS Bugflector 2. I was worried at first, but when they pulled it out of the box, it looked exactly the same. It went on with ease, all you need to 2 is remove 4 plastic fasteners that hold the rubber seal on the hood, then sandwich the bug deflector between the rubber and hood. They supply 4 screw in fasteners, and you are done. 10 minutes max, including the initial wash before installing. I also installed the AVS in channel vent visors, and they went in pretty easy too. UPDATE: Part # 25065, thanks candurin!
  4. I was able to secure a garage for a few hours today and Plasti Dipped my grille and badge. After masking out the grille, I applied some 4 to 5 coats of Plasti Dip and I am pleased with the outcome: I also blacked out my Edge badge too. If Ford hadn't changed the Edge Logo, I probably would have just removed it. I only needed one can, and boy is it forgiving. There are some spots I will need an X-Acto knife to trim off some of the edging, and there are some sections that got pulled off a little with the tape. But all in all, it's not noticeable, and there isn't much of an orange peel texture.

Blacked out my Edge badge with 4 or 5 coats of Plasti Dip
  7. I just put on the AVS Bugflector 2 on and I think it looks really good (esp. since the Edge is black). Went on very easy. You just remove 4 pins that hold in the rubber seal, then sandwich the bugflector between the hood and the rubber seal. They provide 4 new plastic set screws to keep it in place, no tape needed. Very easy, looks good too. I'll get some pics up soon. I think the AVS and EGR are the same darn thing, they look a whole lot alike.
  8. How many cans of dip do you need for the grille? I'm about to try it on mine.
  9. I've been running Blizzaks for the past 10 years on my Ranger. I will probably be putting them on my Edge this winter. As for rims, I am looking at the cheapest 17x7.5 set I can find. I will also buy a hand psi gauge and put up with the warnings all winter for my tire pressure because TPMS is the dumbest thing ever required on a vehicle. The batteries died on my wife's, and we've never changed them.
  10. It's attached to the second row comfort guide, for use with children or small adults. Pull the cord out and you'll see it.
  11. Glad my first install guide was helpful! I will say, they sure make a fine product, and it does fit like a glove.
  12. Some folks have used Plasti-Dip (I'm about too), others have used 3m automotive wrap film.
  13. I know it can be a pain, but try a master reset. It fixed some weirdness on my MFT.
  14. I found a nice metal one at O'reilleys. But you will need to get lower profile screws to get the caps on.
  15. You can can still do pseudo panic with your IA fob: Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock Lock My 14 month old son kind of knows about the panic button on both our cars. Or perhaps he just likes pushing buttons
  16. Not to thread jack, but I have pics of my Draw-Tite/ Hidden-hitch installation here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/10789-draw-tite-install-on-my-2012-edge No spacers, just a few snips of the heat shield
  17. Our first son was a surprise, and what a surprise it was. We brought him home to a green nursery. Our first car seat was a Graco Snugride 35. 1 base in each vehicle. It makes it so much easier to put the little one in the seat, then click them into the base. Once he out grew that car seat, he was too long before he got too heavy, we bought a pair of Britax Marathon 70s. But here is my number one recommendation. Buy a cool looking (black, not flashy) diaper bag. Unless you can a) handle walking around with some awful Coach looking leather by with pink accents or have your wife do all the hauling.
  18. I heard it too, perhaps Mike just got off the set of a really dirty noxious job and wasn't thinking straight. I really doubt they put a HD in the new (Focus?).
  19. Look at the wiper cowl...
  20. Look at the front grille of your edge, and compare that to your old car. It gobbles up more air.
