  1. Yes I installed the Fram fresh breeze. It was the same as the OEM. Flat corrugated one, not the box looking one.
  2. Installed the new filter today. I think it took me longer to cue up the video and watch it than to change the filter. Pretty easy stuff.
  3. Is the video specific to the Edge or just a general overview?
  4. Does it have any scent to it? I don't want any cover up fragrances.
  5. Anyone successfully install the Canadian Tire one in a 13 SEL? I'm at the 2 year mark on my Edge and I would imagine the filter is pretty dirty.
  6. The harness is not required for original V2 lights. The courtesy function works on the original V2 DRL (the one with the electronics built into the light) when 12VDC is supplied to the white dimming wire. This activates the DRL in night time mode (70% brightness). The courtesy harness is only for the DRL's with the outboard electronics module because the white wire will not activate the DRL unless the module is already receiving power (ignition on).
  7. The white wire is used to dim the DRL to 70% brightness at nighttime while driving so as not to blind oncoming traffic. The white trigger wire can be connected to a few different sources such as low beam headlight, front parking light or side marker LED. The white wire will only activate the 70% dimmed portion of the DRL when the electronics module is active (ignition on). If the electronics module is not on (vehicle not running) the 70% DRL will not illuminate for courtesy function. That is the purpose of the courtesy harness.
  8. Incorrectly connecting the diodes could result in damage to the DRL or worse your electrical system. If in doubt, spend the $20 for the courtesy light adaptor from DTBL.
  9. So I found a simple fix for getting the DRL's to light up with the courtesy function. The trick is to use 2 triggers for the electronics module. This is accomplished by connecting a wire from any light that comes on with courtesy such as OEM light pipe, front amber parking light or even the side marker LED to the trigger wire on the electronics box. There is a trick though. You must connect diodes to both the electronics trigger and the courtesy trigger. This prevents voltage from the courtesy trigger going backwards into the fuse box. The courtesy trigger diode must be after the electronics trigger diode. See my high tech illustration. For those of you who are not so mechanically inclined, DTBL will be selling a courtesy light harness adaptor in a couple weeks.. Watch their website for details.
  10. Rear signal for input to what? The rear signals trigger the amber switchback in the EDGE2. These are connected together in the footwell.
  11. I have this exact same set-up. If you have your front amber turn signals as DRL on your Edge, you need to connect the turn signal trigger for the DBL EDGE2 to the rear turn signal wires. These are accessed in the passenger compartment under the left drivers side footwell. You would need to extend the two turn triggers from the EDGE2 through the firewall into the footwell area. Dan has instructions on how to do this. You then connect the dimming trigger to the amber side marker LED's. These LED's follow the same activation as the original light pipes. Daytime full brightness works on the EDGE2 as described. The module is always powered from the direct battery connection and the full brightness trigger comes from the fuse link.
  12. Can someone post the PDF installation instructions for the newest version EDGE2 with the outboard electronics?
  13. So you only want them on when headlights are on? Essentially operate like the OEM light pipes do? If that's the case just use the factory power connectors. You will still have to connect your dimming trigger otherwise they will be full brightness at night and blind oncoming traffic.
  14. Yes. I have the wheels and tires from a 13 Limited on my SEL.
  15. I finally got my Edge in to the dealership today. Problem was another separated tire. That's the second one.
  16. Do you have the recirculation button on? If you are not bringing in fresh air, the windows will fog immediately.
  17. Look a few posts down for a title "2013 pulling to the right". There is a TSB for the 2011 edge.
  18. My dealer tried to tell me it was the crown as well. To which I commented that the problem still occurs even when driving on one way streets in the left lane that crowns to the left. I would call BS on that excuse.
  19. I have a 13 SEL and have been dealing with this from day 1. Had 3 alignments done and it was finally determined to be a faulty tire. I had 20k service done last month and the problem returned. Waiting to take my Edge back in to have it looked at.
  20. Snow in the wheel will definately cause a balancing issue. Any heated parkades you can hide out in for a couple hours?
  21. It only occurs on very bumpy roads. It occurs on both lamps. I'm thinking it's just the electrodes in the bulb moving ever so slightly due to the vehicle shaking. It's pretty subtle. I can see the beam moving a few inches at the far reach of the headlight pattern. I was just wondering if anyone else's shook a little.
  22. I have aftermarket HID in my 13 SEL and love them. When driving on real rough roads, I can see the light pattern shaking on the road. No issues with that, just curious if this occurs with factory HID or anyone else's aftermarket ones?
  23. AC smell is when the AC turns off. You get a musty smell. Wet corner of an old basement smell. What is the dealer recommended scheduled cabin filter replacement? I just had 20k service.
  24. I ordered a set for the front and installed them on the weekend. They are a bit pricey but worth it. Thanks for all the comments.
