I have a 2010 Edge with factory side rails. I was agonizing over what I should do to complete my rack system (remove side rails and install a complete aftermarket system, purchase factory cross bars, or purchase aftermarket towers and cross bars). I was familiar with the complete Yakima system and felt comfortable with its reliability. I purchased the Yakima Railgrab towers and 58" cross bars. Before installing the towers and crossbars, the siderails almost seemed too loose....not anymore. The rack is solid. I can grab the cross bar and shake the whole car. I'm very happy with it. I'm scratchin' my head on how to secure the bow and stern. I have a 14' kayak that I'll have on haulraisers. I'm trying to decide how I have to modify some hooks under the Edge to be able to secure the kayak. I'd love to see what you decide to do.

I almost had a pair for you but I decided to use the Yakima Railgrab towers and crossbars on the existing siderails. Maybe you can help me out. I like to secure the bow and stern of my kayak when it's on the rack. I have looked under the Edge for such a place. I think I can find a spot for the front, but the back has nothing. Do you secure the bow and stern? If so, how? Thanks
