  1. When you got it aligned were the camber angles very far off? did you need to get a camber adjustment fitting for every corner?
  2. Any updates on this exhaust project? Cant wait to see it done.
  3. Whats the ride like? Is it a lot harder/harsher compared to stock? Not sure if my Wife would go for that... maybe ill have to stick with lower springs and 20's
  4. If you didn't get Cargo Management as an option $65. And you dont want to pay $250 from Ford Parts, an easy fix is to make it yourself. This is what I did with a friends Edge. I really should have taken pictures throughout the project to make a "how to" but failed to in my rush to just get it done. Here's a quick write up. 1. Pry the foam insert from the rear of the vehicle. Its easier to work on it on a bench or table. 2. Gently cut out the Styrofoam honeycomb that takes up the inside of the rear tire surround. DO NOT CUT THE OUTSIDE WALLS, ONLY THE INSIDE. 3. With some medium and then fine grit sandpaper, sand smooth all the places you cut out the styrofoam honeycomb. 4. At this point you have three options for finishing off your new cargo organizer. You can: A. spray it with paint to seal the foam. B. Fill it with a light coat of Bondo body filler, sand it smooth and paint it for a cleaner look. C. Fiberglass it, sand it, and then paint it to match your body color. (You can use cans of DupliColor and Clear you don't need to take it to a body shop) Sorry I didn't take photos when we did it. I can tell you it came out great! Im planning on doing it to mine when I eventually get one. Ill post pictures the next time. PROMISE!

  6. The more I figure this, the more it makes sense. Dealer even told me he made a mistake and that during the lease period the interest rate will be 1.5% not 1.9%. Im going to lease and probably buy the Edge after. Now we just need to get a good trade in on the 05 Escape. Thanks to all for the help thinking
  7. You know, Ive considered this both ways and heres how it weighs out to me: Leasing: Pro 1.2% interest during lease. (So im getting a super low finance charge in my eyes) In three years I can easily set aside money toward buy out price. If we change our mind about the truck in three years I can give it back. CONS Not sure of buy out fee's (ill have to ask) Not sure if My insurance will be more expensive since im in NJ (highest insurance in nation) and its a LEASE buy out is 50% of MSRP not XPlan $16785.00 vs $ $15906.75 Buying: PRO Its mine. Well its the banks then its mine. insurance may be cheaper? not sure Con Higher monthly payment Higher interest rates for at least the first three years of ownership If I hate it after three years I have to find someone to give me at least 50% of its value If im not missing anything in all the fine print, it seems like there might be a slight benefit to leasing to buy. I hope im not confusing myself here....
  8. I have a Viper alarm and remote start that cost me $199. It starts my car from easily 1/4 mile away, and it sends the remote a confirmation that the car is started or if the alarm is sounding or if the alarm has been tripped. I love it. Its coming out of my Escape and going into the new Edge whenever we decide on one. My vote is aftermarket all the way! Find a good audio shop and you can have it installed in about 1.5 - 2 hours
  9. HELP Would like some opinions on this offer from my local dealer. We priced a 2008 FWD limited in White Sand, with 18" wheels, BAMR, Cargo mngt, and Sirius radio. (NO NAV or Power liftgate) MSRP is $33570.00 XPLan is $31813.49. Were getting $1750 in rebates. Were getting offered a lease of 12.5K per year for three years for aprox $415/month. With a decent trade in on my 2005 Escape XLT with 33K miles I can reduce that amount to close to $290. In any case, Im wondering if it makes sense to enter into a three year lease with the intention of buying out the lease in three years. The cost at that point would be $16785.00 Right now FORD is only offering me 5.9% financing currently and my local credit union is coming in at 4.9% so the lease to buy seems worth it to me, AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE????
  10. Went to the dealer on Friday night. Got offered FWD 08 Limited MSRP $33570 X-Plan 31813.00 - $500 cash, $500 return customer incentive and a $750. coupon that the dealer found in my name in their computer (I owned an F150 in 1992). My 36 month 12Kmile lease payment would be aprox. $390. the lease finance % is 1.5. This a good deal?
  11. NICE I love reading this thread. Im going for test drive 3 this week. Might be giving up the 2005 Escape for an 08 Edge. Keep the posts coming!
