  1. You might have glazed your front rotors and pads during break in. Ive done this on more than one set of brakes on my auto-x cars before I went to drilled and slotted rotors. Basically if you brake too hard during the break in period (before the brake pads have a chance to seat or bed properly against the rotors) it forms just that a glaze on top of the pads and rotor. Afterward when you attempt to brake the heat build up of the brake pads produces gas which believe it or not causes pockets of gas much like boiling water. These need to escape, and with no room to go anywhere it feels exactly as you describe...bumpy. This still occurs (the gas formation) even with proper seating/bedding of the pads, when you make panic/emergency stops. Hence the reason they created cross drilled and slotted rotors. The holes and slots on the surface of the rotor allow this gas to escape. Next time youre in for service or an oil change have a mechanic look at it and just ask him "Do you think these pads and rotors are glazed? Hope this helps a little
  2. Hmmm double posted here... Oh well sorry. See the next post.
  3. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET TEXAS Edition! Sadly I dont think the NJ Edition would have the same impact.... But I do like yours!
  4. Bet that grill would have looked great painted white.
  5. Our Edge was pulling to the right on straight roads. We adjusted tire pressures, but it eventually went into the Service Dept. They spun the strut plates 180* and it solved the problem. Now she drives straight and true on all roads. Took a full day for Ford to get it done.

    MPG??????

^Whew!!!! And here I am yelling at my Fiance for her lead foot and jack rabbit starts and complaining that the best we've averaged in our first 1000miles has been 17.6MPG (car calculated) 17.2 (hand calculated). Maybe our Edge is tuned better than yours? 02/13/08 UPDATE: We are routinely getting 17.4 - 18.0 MPG in NJ with winter blend gasoline. My Commute consists of 14 miles each way on the highway, with two hills, and about 6 stop lights. No long trips yet.
  7. We LOVE our charcoal interior! After my fiancee had bad luck with the tan interior on her Audi (getting dirty, transferring the dye's from jeans, and just showing wear easier) we chose charcoal. We've gotten so many compliments on how "rich" the interior looks for a Ford, with most following up that its a nice color combo. I think you'll be very happy if you choose charcoal. And if you match the window tint, it rounds out a nice sleek look.
  8. No man! No, you cant do that.... It's just bad Mojo!
  9. Hey JPark, good to see you here. Just like E-Central! Any pricing info on these?
  10. QUOTE (Da-Edge @ Mar 28 2007, 06:53 PM) If you go above 6000k then yes, they are not street legal. The ones I purchased are the ones used for Audi and BMW which are rated at 4300K. 8000K and above are too blue and 10000K + are purple which are pretty much not legal. This is from a website that sells the HID kits you bought, this was taken from Xenonking.com FAQ. (5) Are these HID light systems street legal? NO XENON HID conversion kit available from any source is DOT approved if installed outside of the factory. Moreover, in the U.S, this is not street legal for use on public roads. As a result, we officially endorse the kit for exhibition and off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are not responsible for buyers who violate the terms of sale while in which they will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other than exhibition or off-road use. From my research is has to do with the headlight assembly design. HID systems reflectors are set up different than halogen. You can buy them, but can still get a ticket for using them on any street. I guess it depends on the police officer. I just want people to be informed as I wanted to purchase HID for my edge until I did more research on it. Chad You are correct. As a Police Officer I can attest that a ton of these tickets are written every night. The fines here in NJ vary between municipalities, I dont know about anywhere else, but its definitely not worth it in the Garden State. I know its not the popular opinion, but hey I'm just the messenger.
  11. Well I hope the next time you call the Police for some help you dont say that ^ as soon as they show up? Hey Jokers, quick get in here, my kids choking and turning blue can you help? C'mon, thats just ignorant. Your local police Police are doing all the above, and in case you forgot, we have Traffic divisions as well, and can you guess what their focus is? Right, its traffic and moving violations.
  12. I hand wash. Since Im a car guy, its therapy to me. I usually wax whenever i change the oil. I like meguiars and xymol products. The quick detailers are great and I like to use them while drying the car on every second wash. Im a big believer in RainX and apply that after every wash as well... Ive found with the Edge's steeply raked windshield that I dont even need the windshield wipers when it rains with RainX on the window. I also use a california waterblade to dry off the car first, then follow up with a real chamois. the California Water Blade is a super soft latex blade to sweep water off the car. Inside I use the chamois again for dust, a soft toothbrush for cracks and crevices, and a lint roller to clean the rear carpet cargo area
  13. Heres our Lease to purchase deal... 14. Me and the Wife Love our 2008 AWD in White Sand w/ Charcoal, BAMR'd with 20's. Everywhere we go we get looks, we get questions, we walk back across the parking lots and find people checking out the Edge. What owner wouldnt be happy? No buyers remorse here...
  15. Any chance of anyone snapping a photo while they have the covers off? I dont really mind the Chrome Covers... After all if me or the wife accidentally curbs one, then you buy new cover instead of buying a new wheel.

    MPG??????

First tankful of NJ Winter Blend oxygenated fuel. The computer said 17.8 MPG we figured 17.1, mind you its been bitter cold and we've been warming up the car for 2-3 minutes before taking off. So far so good. Very Happy with our Edge
  17. Im a cynic, sooo what does a good tune make on these vehicle?
  18. I dont think that it was built on the 7th of December, I think the two digits are month and year of production....
  19. PLEASE POST PICS :happy feet: CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW THEY LOOK. <YEAH I KNOW CAPITALS!!! LOL LOVE IT DON'T YA????
  20. I was curious about the same. A group buy on these would be great!
  21. Once your seat heats up on High, switch it to low. You think im joking? Im not.
  22. Maybe... But the VIN we got was the one delivered to us so I thought it got built for us. We're in New Jersey Just outside NYC. We ordered a AWD Limited in White Sand, Black interior with BAMR and 20"s. date of maunufacter is 12/07
  23. We ordered on Dec 7 changed our order, and took delivery last night Dec 29! Unbelieveable! This is the way Ford needs to do business to get itself back on track. After a day we're thrilled with the Edge. If everything stays like this for the next few year of ownership than Ill say that things are definitely better! cheers to the hard working people of Ford getting out a nice product in quick turnaround time. I should mention that this was an XPLAN purchase, not sure if that sped things up though...
  24. White Sand is closer to true white. There is no Oxford white available on the edge so we went with White Sand Just took delivery on 12/29 I like the color alot! We didnt get a 2007 because my Fiancee hated the yellow tint of the Creme brulee... So we waited a year and Voila! Ford rethought their white options. Very elegant color for the edge. Very close to the whte mettalic of the Cadillac Escalade
