I've had aftermarket equipment in most of the vehicles I've owned. I can undoubtedly say The 12 Speaker Sony Surround Sound in my Sport Kicks F ing Ass! I'm SO happy with the sound that I just cant wait to have all the uninterrupted functionality of MFT running USB's, SIRIUS satellite radio, streaming Pandora or other audio from my Droid Incredible. Ford did a great job partnering with Sony. The execution in design and whatever R&D they did to stage the sound really shows. Kudos Ford! From the looks of Wilson's photo, I wouldn't want to have to start messing with this vehicle due to lackluster sound from the stereo.

No advantage of having Ford do it. Just find a quality shop and look at their work. Every shop has access to the right color. As far as ordering a new grill? If you have license plate holes you want to get rid of that could be one. Or just to have the Chrome to change back to in case you want to sell the Edge could be another reason. Up to you really.

LOL, i find its not uncommon for the designers to rip each other off.... Im sorry "borrow" from each other. Remember when Lexus started the jeweled tail light craze? All of sudden the hottest thing was to have "IS" tail lights. Then came the front fender vents, Land Rovers had them, then Cadillac Escalades had them, now everyone has them. LOL I do see the simularities quite clearly.Geez, if you painted that center section of the bumper black you could call it the xB SPORT

Congrats on the new ride. Aftermarket forums? Not sure. The mods you wil be looking at are pretty straight forward. You can add an HID kit for the lights, LED's for the interior bulbs, tint the windows, and drop in a K&N filter or cold air intake. Those are about the extent of the Mods so far for the Sport.

Congrats on the new Rig! I love ours, and the looks it gets are priceless. I know you'll enjoy it.

Dropping a standard hitch down 3/4" clears the bottom of the lower bumper cover. NO CUTTING OF BODYWORK. Due to the 22" tires and different gearing, towing capacity is reduced from 3500 to about 2100. This is what I was told by a Ford engineer. Whether its 100% correct or not, I cant say. It still suits my needs for light duty towing.

2011 tail lights
Edgieguy replied to rknutson's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Side by side next to my 2008 Id say yes. They were so close I couldnt see a difference by eye. Before you buy a set, trace your tails on a sheet of paper, and then take a trip to the dealership and line it up against a 2011 light. All the attachment bolts are exactly the same, which makes sense since the entire body structure is the same from 2007, including the doors and rear latch. -
Ask a local body shop. They can prep and paint your grill with the same tuxedo black metallic that the sports have. or you can order a new grill set and have that painted.

What is this rubber piece?
Edgieguy replied to Mario Artecona's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
That fits behind the SONY radio and climate control waterfall. There is a small storage ledge there and that fits to keep things from slipping out. -
Im assuming that this is not working in my vehicle right now. Ive used the paddles and then come to a stop and the Edge certainly didnt want to start off in 5M. It was WAY after the temporary shifting had taken place... so Shift to M shift to D, drove off. After I have my software updated, Ill have to try again and edit this post.

If you use them for a pass how do you get the system to go back into automatic mode again? Ive only been able to shift to M and then back to D

Attempting to buy 2011 Edge sport
Edgieguy replied to daconfusion's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
If you have Costco stores in Canada, and you are a member, and your Costco offers member buying services, and one of them is a car buying service, and Ford included, ask your dealer for your discount. If you didnt get a $750. coupon inside your catalog, then you were not offered the discount. Ask your dealer anyway. They want to sell you a car and you want a discount to buy it. Who's the bigger loser if you decide to walk out of the dealership once they have you so close to signing on a car? -
I'm interested pm sent

i had a full size 20" spare in the trunk of my 2008 limited if that helps.

Attempting to buy 2011 Edge sport
Edgieguy replied to daconfusion's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I did Xplan and my doc fee was $75. Are you a Costco member? Additional $1000 discount, you have to ask for it. -
we had a break from the freezing weather in new jersey, so I cleaned my wheels up today. I have to admit those wheels are very pretty, I wouldn't trade them for anything and I think they're just right on the sport. but to each their own

I'm having the same problem with our 11 sport. I have not yet had a software revision either . I was kind of hoping that this was gonna change with the software revision . -
If you have to flip /roll over, you certainly cant beat the view through the BAMR!

SWEET! I'm picking that up too. I think I bought these on sale when i picked them up originally in 2008, but they were still ($13) $12.99 a piece so thats an awesome price.

So the day after Christmas New Jersey got hit with 12-24" of snow depending on where you live. The roads were wrecked. The snow started slowly and early in the day and by dinner time we had a full blown whiteout. Lots of ice underneath a layer of new fallen snow (which wasn't difficult when we were seeing 2"/hour) It took me nearly 30 minutes to dig my Edge out of its parking spot (lousy plow drivers) but then it was clear sailing. I was very cautious, as all the crash reports I had taken all day involved 4WD vehicles. The snow was still pounding and the only way I was able to drive home (Garden State Parkway for those familiar with it) was to look out my drivers side window and judge my distance from the center divider. I averaged about 20 mph and made it home safely, even snow plowing through the 15" we had on our unplowed street. Im still going to consider regular snow tires, but im very satisfied with the performance of the 22" Pirellis.
