  1. I did the same with the wifes car when we had a break from our lousy winter. The next week we wound up ordering her a new Explorer. At least the dealer got to see the awesome shape her cars in in case we trade it to them...
  2. tell them to fix it, or fix it yourself. Mine is perfect and the guidelines are aligned to your tire tracks helping you to avoid curbing your wheels.
  3. II got my sport with 29. It was driven to my dealer from the main dealership and that accounted for 14 miles, I don't know how much Ford moves the cars from factory to trains to holding lots, so 29 in my hands seemed like nothing. A few test drives could account for 300 if it were an early unit and people want to drive one before ordering. I drove their test sport almost 30 miles before I bought.
  4. I know there's a module that controls all of this. There have been bad ones out there. As far as I know these can't be swapped between vehicles because they're coded without the individual vehicle VIN number. Maybe your dealer has ordered one already?
  5. Sold along time ago. Was never updated and/ or removed.
  6. Sold along time ago. Was never updated and/ or removed.
  7. I had connect a disconnect my droid incredible once or twice, but it now allows bluetooth audio. Seems to work better with voice commands "bluetooth audio" then "play", rather then trying to use the touch button, not sure why. I'll have to try reloading my phone to see if it pickups facebook photos.
  8. You have a short in the wiring for your trailer lighting. Had the same problem on my 2008. It would blow fuses immediately. To make things more confusing, it didn't start until months after it was installed and I had used the trailer light pigtail.
  9. Check which version of MFT/SYNC you're running. That might be your problem right there.
  10. Roma, Curious how you're making out with this, please post an update when you can.
  11. I was doing this to myself too many times... Now the fobs in my jacket breast pocket all alone.
  12. I wouldn't give up my edge for anything I'm quite happy with it. in fact were so happy with our edge and my ford touch that we just purchased a 2011 ford explorer for my wife. after receiving the car I set "my temp" and left it alone never touched it again. Best of all, I just say my temp on and it's all set up. I've never had a wind noise inside the car only quiet. and as far as my transmission goes I can't believe how smooth this thing shifts. my advice? Go buy a toyota venza
  13. I was told months ago by an engineer at Ford that the SD card Nav upgrade is possible and may be an option in the future. It would allow you to go to a Ford Dealer and have them order and install (unlock) the feature in the car. So even years old 2011 ford Edges could be upgraded if sold off lease or as used vehicles. Dont know the time frame on that plan, but he said the functionality was built in from the beginning so it does add hope for those who didnt get it originally
  14. I think it looks really good! Kudos to you for such a nice job fitting it! If you can, Post up some more photos from other angles and some info on the film as well. Great Job!
  15. Good to know. The SONY branded system sounds great in my opinion, but the cheapest upgrade to any system has always been pulling the stock speakers and adding a quality name brand. Crutchfield is great resource for this. http://www.crutchfield.com/ Maybe summertime Ill look into changing out the stocks for some Infinitiy's. Thanks again for pointing this out.
  16. Ive had this happen as well while hand washing. I guess however the handle works (sensing your body's electrical charge???) maybe the water mimics this? With the smartkey you cant lock the "key" in without using the keypad, but when its in your pocket you can lock and unlock the doors multiple times while detailing the truck.
  17. I have to agree with debiz on this one. Plus the two styles vary greatly in my eyes. (Although in my minds eye, Im picturing my Sport VS the Subaru) I think styling wise the Edge is the clear winner, but choose what will ultimately make you happy)
  18. I had some early problems, got the 2.4 update and the system seems more stable and bit quicker. Im thinking things are only getting better as they work on this system.
  19. Not to mention its illegal. Sorry for being the bearer of bad news. NJ just started a no tolerance traffic enforcement plan on window and tail light tints. As the statute states in the last paragraph, Judges contend that tint limits your visibility at night putting pedestrians in danger. 39:3-75. Safety glass The term "safety glass" shall be construed as meaning glass so treated or combined with other materials as to reduce, in comparison with ordinary sheet glass or plate glass, the likelihood of injury to persons by objects from exterior sources or by glass when the glass is cracked or broken. The term "safety glazing material" shall be construed as meaning "safety glass" ; or other glazing materials, such as plastics, produced for the purpose of safety in glazing; or a combination of safety glass and other safety glazing material. The term "approved safety glazing material" shall be construed as meaning safety glazing material of a type approved by the director. In the approving of safety glazing materials, the director is hereby given authority to make use of recognized standards to confine the use of certain types of safety glazing materials to a specific location in or on the vehicle, or to a certain purpose. No person shall drive any motor vehicle manufactured on or after July first, nineteen hundred and thirty-five and registered in this State unless such vehicle is equipped with approved safety glazing material wherever glazing is used in doors, windows and windshields. The term "windshield" shall be construed to include wings, deflectors and side shields; also front corner lights adjoining windshields. Every section of safety glazing material shall be legibly and permanently marked with the manufacturers' distinctive designations, under which the safety glazing material was approved, so as to be visible when installed. No person shall drive any motor vehicle equipped with safety glazing material which causes undue or unsafe distortion of visibility or equipped with unduly fractured, discolored or deteriorated safety glazing material, and the director may revoke the registration of any such vehicle. Amended by L.1949, c. 258, p. 823, s. 1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the Tinting of Taillights..., Although Im a car guy and I like the look, here's the law that outlaws tinting lights. Now I know the argument is "But when the lights shine they still shine red". That may be the case in the dark, but in daylight the lights don't look or reflect red, they're black, or meant to look black, so they're not reflecting red. So in NJ theres no tolerance of either.... 39:3-50. Color of lights, permits; cancellation or revocation of permits; fee. 39:3-50. All lamps and reflectors, which display a light visible from directly in front of a vehicle as authorized by this subtitle, shall exhibit lights substantially white, yellow or amber in color. (a) The color of light emitted or reflected by exterior lamps or reflectors on a vehicle shall be as follows, except as otherwise provided in paragraphs (, © and (d) of this section: White when the lamp is a headlamp, or spot lamp, or illuminates a license plate or a destination sign; or is located on the outside limit of a side car or other attachment on a motor cycle; Substantially white or amber when the lamp is a side-cowl or fender lamp, running-board or other courtesy lamp, front parking lamp, back-up lamp, auxiliary driving lamp; or a turn signal on or facing the front; Substantially red or amber when the lamp is a turn signal or a stop lamp on or facing the rear; Red when any other lamp or any reflector is on the rear or on either side at or near the rear, except as otherwise provided in paragraph (f) of section 39:3-61 for a combination marker lamp; Amber when any other lamp or reflector is on the front or on either side other than at or near the rear. ( Lamps and reflectors on projecting loads shall emit or reflect light with color as provided in section 10 of this act. © No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any street or highway equipped with any device or lamp thereon capable of or displaying a light of any other color than permitted by this section, except: an authorized emergency vehicle, an authorized school bus, or a vehicle authorized by a permit issued by the chief administrator. (d) A permit authorizing a vehicle to be equipped with a lamp capable of or displaying a flashing light, except as provided in 39:3-54 or a light of a color other than permitted by this section, visible from directly in front of said vehicle, may be issued by the director when necessary, in his discretion, for the reasonable and safe movement of traffic. The permit shall specify the type and color of such lamp and the conditions under which a person may drive or move the vehicle with said lamp displaying a light. The permit shall be valid only when the specifications and conditions contained therein are complied with. The chief administrator shall collect a $25 fee for the initial issuance and for each subsequent renewal of the permit for each vehicle for which the applicant seeks to use such a light, provided, however, that no fee shall be charged for a permit authorizing the use of a light that is red or blue. The fee set forth in this section shall not apply to a motor vehicle registered at no fee pursuant to R.S.39:3-27. The fees collected pursuant to this section shall be considered revenue of the commission and shall not be subject to the calculation of proportional revenue remitted to the commission pursuant to section 105 of P.L.2003, c.13 (C.39:2A-36). The chief administrator may cancel or revoke a permit issued under authority of this section whenever the conditions for its issuance no longer exist or on any other reasonable grounds. Amended 1951, c.24; 1964, c.136, s.3; 2007, c.242, s.5.
  20. Any chance your inadvertently hitting the panic button somehow? I know it might sound like a dumb idea but try relocating your key to a jacket pocket or somewhere other then where youre currently holding it and see if anything changes.
  21. I love the Sport. I really didnt even consider the Limited since my 2008 was a Limited and I wanted the painted lower body moldings. I think the painted versus the black plastic really finishes off the look. The 22" wheels are attention grabbers for sure, but surprisingly the ride is not harsh at all. If you get the chance, drive both and you will see. I like the paddle shifters (fun but not often used...yet) I missed the HID upgrade but bought a set of HIDs from DDMtuning and installed and aimed my lights correctly, so for $45 dollars I got that option. The Variable cruise control would be nice, but given the choice to give that up or the painted lowers, it was a no brainer. The wheels have stayed pretty nice through a horrible North eastern winter so that shouldnt be too much an issue for you. With a wash once a week or at least every two, your Edge will look great. I wouldnt trade my Sport, but Im sure there are Limited owners that feel the same way.
  22. Akirby, isnt the new mustang/edge 3.7 motor designed this way? I seem to remember reading that during the development this was talked about. The timing would advance until knock sensors detected knock. Obviously that would be directly related to octane rating. This was an "on-demand" type of performance enhancement built into the motor. I'll keep searching for the article to post here, unless someone finds it before me. Or maybe I'm confusing issues? Ok, here is what I read about the 3.7 motor. The specific paragraph is next to the photo of the rear of the mustang on page 2. http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/mmfp_1006_2011_ford_mustang_37l_v6_engine/37l_v6_engine.html
