true, we should all try to find time to get in all the little things that pertains to us. and it's users like you that blew my thread out of proportion but pinning words such as "bitching" when i simply said that i was ticked off that there wernt such a simple circuit other wise i'd just drive with the lights on avoiding the whole thing while still being safe. if you only read between the lines i can't help you... and i dont blame ford for my lazyness, i blame them for being a greedy pocket picking corporation. only reason i have one is because i'm stuck with one. and it's nice to see that you seem to point that i'm the only person who forgets the headlight at night. again i apologize for upsetting you, but i'm also sorry i can't help you if you go off on a tangent and make up your own opinions that doesnt reflect what's stated.
-
how did i respond to everyone? called them being whinny bitches? being a sarcastic sob? you wont find language like that in any of my replies to other users. if those sound familar it's because they are what you said. so i'm asking you again for what seems to be one too many times after you and others have fail to answer or ignored, how did i respond to people and how did i disrespect anyone? drop a pair and use some real analytical judgement.
-
well i figure i give you a chance to stand up to what you said. and what i said was that i'm disapointed they didnt implement that design. am i not entitled to be disapointed at a lack of whatever? also it's your own darn fault for interpreting it as "i'm the most important thing in the world.... " it's also where you should insert in " i apologize for assuming so".

didn't realize there were so many people so ready to jump on a band wagon without even looking at things first. just a final word on this but it's postings like this (attached) that made my defenses in the last two postings that got locked by akirby. clearly you guys didnt read, just saw what a pissy/moody moderator said and ran with it. all because it's fun to pick on someone else that a bunch of misunderstood people are already doing so. but anyways in the example beneath, clearly you ended up reffering to the same thing that i was talking about 2 topics ago but you didnt make the connection thinking i'm talking about auto on/off. it's clearly written that i'm talking about the auto off when the engine is off and the door's open. those two conditions are met, the car will kill the exterior lights (so you aint gotta wait for the battery saver circuit for 10 friggen minutes which i didnt get a chance to verify yet). i'll most likely pay the ticket without any contestation as i understood i should've turned on the lights. all that's implied was that if ford implemented that simple circuit with the door and the engine, i'd just drive around with the lights on to prevent the issue in the first place. yeah bulb will burn out faster...whatevers work will have it replaced and clients are happier that i'm there with them instead of signing for a ticket. not sure how you guys got off on such a tangent. i had no problem standing my ground and welcomed all the postings i got yesterday but a few of you still got your panties bunched up just cause someone pointed out something that's not on a positive note so to you. sorry guys and gals, that's how things work in life. and some of you kept mentioning "getting it my way"... if you thought i was being a spoiled kid in a toy store you need to think again and reread what was actually said. but whatevers, everyone have a good weekend.

Thats what i thought since the light switch only output a whopping 2.3- 2.5v perfect as input for pld and controllers. thanks for your help and i sincerely mean it. but no can do on letting Akirby go mate. if he continues to voice in such way around my posts i'll shove it back down his throat. still don't see how I was wrong or disrespected anyone other than him for starting it. Quite honestly i feel that he owes me a sincere apology for having let his prejudgemental mind get the best of him and brought all that nonsense across my path and prejudge me so. Besides isnt it apparent that the way i communicate with you or anyone else here is different from the way i communicate with him? just look at what he's saying and the basis of his argument. and trust me, i'm about as chill as absolute zero. However, if you feel that his constant attacks at me for having a back and forth conversation with other users is correct and justified, i respect that and there's no need for me to persuade you otherwise. Just let me deal with him/her. He's just about out of options, with really nothing much to say but to maybe delete my account in which case. that's fine too and i say that with a big ass ...man i can write a novel on this, it's starting to feel like one. -

it was you who first approached my previous topic in an immature way through multiple posts and it was you who started the name calling. and if you're over yourself, you'd see that I called no one names. just to you as a response because you're full of it and you brought it. also you must have no sense of self worth or pride if you consider my statement about you before calling you an idiot as name calling and indecent. And the point of open conversation is to allow people to present ideas and defend ideas. Which is exactly what me and everyone else was doing until you came in. There are rules here that prohibits rebuttals? If that's the case, you can keep the forum to yourself and fill your inflated head because you got so much power you can push a few buttons on your keyboard. thanks for your two cents but don't come back until you got some quarters. -

oh i understand a relay's function. but will this also turn on the back light for the radio/climate control buttons inside? or will a second relay to the parking lights be needed for that function? Also where the bloody hell is the headlight and parking light relay? the user manual makes no mention of it. My usual guy at the ford dealership that's been taking care of my escape hybrid would prob get me that info but he's been transfered. I asked for that bit of information in the mod forum and still waiting for a reply. sum it up, brilliant idea. i went and purchased the DEI 545T auto headlight module after the citation but got held up at the location of the headlamp and parking lamp relay. I used to turn wrenches in high school at a chevy gmc dealership on corvettes and firebirds like 10 years ago, sort of intern/explorer class now i make blood money so the location of most car components is kinda blurred Truly appreciate your help. -

I "one uped" you on this one because i find the solution you provided very helpful and respect your expressed opinion and thoughts which fulfills the needs of these forums regardless if it was oposing or with me (holy crap that's a long sentence). But I'm wondering if you've had a chance to read my original post. I went over it to see if i was "dissing" anyone and I don't think I did. I get that it seems like everyone here loves their vehicle...i too enjoy my new edge but what i love more is progress. So mearly stating that i'm disapointed that Ford couldn't or would not implement such a simple thing just doesnt sit well with me is mearly my opinion and is far from offensive. I've included my original thread posting, i honestly can't see how people managed to get "butt hurt" by that and went of ranting. If you'd be kind enough I'd like to hear about the relay mod you mentioned. "Hey all. Have my 2012 edge SE for about 3 weeks now and for the most part I'm happy with it. It's a free company car so not much to complain about. I came from a 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid that I put about 70k within 2.5years and that car only needed a 12v battery replacement. However it was much louder on the highway than the new Edge I got. The only rant I have about the Edge is that since the company got me the SE model, there's no auto on/off headlamp. Got a ticket for that the second day I got the new car (good bye 8 years clean streak). Guess I got spoiled with the auto on/off from the Escape. What ticks me off is...it's 2012...when the majority of auto makers are building cars that will turn off the headlights when you have the ignition off and you open the door, this beautiful modernized crossover can't do the same. That's ok though, I bought an aftermarket auto on/off kit for 25 dollars. Just need some help finding a few components to wire it up. I hope i don't sound lazy or anything but I deal with alot of hospitals/labs so I'm on the phone the minute I climb onto the car and still yaking my way into the next hospital. Streamlining is a must. Also...the day time driving light is like freakishly bright just like the night time light. I think the diff is only like .5 to 1 volt less than the night light. Can't blame me for forgetting the driving light. all in all, it's a good suv. Enjoying it so far." -

swallow what pride? i left my ego out of my posts and replied with respect to everyone until a few narrow minded people comes along thinking they have THE shit to say. spare me the high school literature analysis class. I simply said that i'm disapointed that ford can't/didn't integrate such a simiple circuit into their design to make things so much easier. what's the point of a site like this Dingo? let's all get together and talk about how great things are with a product line and make no mention of what it could be? and i say that with all due respect to you Dingo. besides, if your competitor comes up with a great idea to solving a problem what are you going to do? say that's lame and your'e not going to implement it because it's not your idea? that my friend is counter productive. -
Hey Mr. Moderator "Akirby" , to refer back to what you posted in my " can edge keep up" topic, if you're going to bring your opinions and feelings into my post, you better be darn ready to take some back in your face especially if you posted such "colorful" terms. So why did you go and lock my thread? I simply replied and defended my initial opinions from your accusations and judmental statements. If you get burnt by people shoving back poop into your face then you probably shouldn't be throwing it around in the first place...let alone moderate. You want to talk about constructive debate? it's not in sitting around talking about how lovely things are that'll produce constructive/progressive results. It's in finding the holes in a ship so that it can be improve and fix. IDIOT! Everyone else, I'm sorry you guys have to read this but I want to make sure you know ahed that coming into this forum exposes you to a moderator who's very bias and emotionaly unstable.

no we rely on the dealership to do their end of the bargain when the vehicle is in for maint and we do that very often. my camry will turn off parking lights when the lock button is pushed twice...what a brilliant idea, my mom's decade old civic power off the lights when the door's open. Though I have to say, when i chose my profession, i also chosed to put the lives of those ill and in pain ahead of mine so i can't afford the luxury of time and convienient of taking my sweet time with nothing else on my head while compensating for an ongoing failing system that has provoked my thoughts and opinion. I've had my share of vehicles, so trust me, i'm not talking with hot air. In the last 3 months, i've been in over 8 different vehicles due to travel and supporting out of region health care facilities between socal and miami so my thoughts are pretty current. again, yes some in our society are lazy *sses but most of us, we have enough to-do's to fill up our planners till thursday week after next. Take lots of immune boosters, my girlfriend works with young kids as a teacher but i call her a baby sitter and she is getting sick left and right this time of year.

now that's awesome and powerful information. Thanks. NEW MATERIAL!

Actually you're pretty oblivious to the stated facts or easily amused/satisfied. I think the vehicle's alright and consider in some way an upgrade from my hybrid escape. Disapointed that they couldnt integrate some simple nand/nor/and/or gates or resistors into their circuits for 50cents more to make it convenient for their consumers who's keeping them in business while the guys across the street are offering way more for around the same price if not less. If not sync there's several other platforms. and fuel economy? I'm glad i have a fuel card that I never have to pay other wise i'd pee my pants every time i have to get gas for this car between 250 to 280miles/tank.

all about the value of the package and a greedy company trying to pick pocket when it clearly needs every single customer that walks through their sales room, especially when the competition is offering so much more. I'll check the battery saver function again later today. and you need 10 minutes in the battery saver mode to get to your house or walk down the street? the safer thing to do is park closer and most people do which negates the need for your headlamp to be on for 10 minutes. Also the only time 10 minutes of light can do you any good is if you're parked in an open field somewhere and you're going to walk down straight infront of your car for a long distance...yeah that reaches out to like what? half a percent of their consumers at best? want to know why that "safety feature" wont work in urban environment such as a mall/parking lot/ford dealership etc? Trust me, there's no positive outcome for lack of vision in this matter from ford engineers/designers/marketing. Given the choice to pick another vehicle among it's competitor? In a heart beat. It's too bad my company invested in trying to help these manufactures.

no arguments, mearly convo. If given the chance to be on a pannel of ford owners discussing with ford, i'd be there with things to say and thanks for the letter idea. I'll most likely do so. I travel alot for both work and personal time and I have family living over sea so i'm familar with daily customs of other cultures. So let me tell you, the majority of Americans arent actually lazy. We live a more stressful life and there's more expected of us from a global scale whether you recognize it or not. I'm darn good at my profession and I contribute that to being able to scrutinize the fine details of things, not the "shazam" that's placed infront of you. No matter how large the object, it's the small details that builds it to the size it is. So auto off lightings when engine is off and door open? it's a very simple logic circuit and it's been offered by other manufacture across all trim for decades now. The package with the auto headlight comes with the keypad and back up sensor for an additional 850usd when i placed the vehicle order. Just can't seem to justify that when I've just purchased an aftermarket kit that'll auto manage my vehicle lights based on ambient lights and a back up sensors kit for a combined cost of 50usd? And another note... these other countries/people that says we're this and that in a negative way? ... if given the chance to, trust me 80+% of them would chose to live here in our nation and I say that with conservative numbers. It's the age old perspective and opinion of the have not's while looking at the have's. kind of like me looking at you guys with your auto headlights and i dont...haha jealous.

nice. my odo reads only 6400 after three years of usage from when first taken home new. towards the last half year before being sold, i prob put about 150 miles on it. So it was a good drive way ornament but now that it's gone. seems strange looking at the spot it used to be parked at and find it empty. oh how work rapidly robs us of play time.

NO YOU KID!? i tried that and it stayed on when i return. but then i might have been impatient and what felt like 15mins might not be more than 10? will try again later today.

haha. no eyes are normal 20/20 (thank goodness). Thanks for the tip about the judge. I'll prob send a letter to the court house and see if they'll let me slide base on good long standing record, and also because it was a car that's no more than 2 days old. Truly a warning would've seemed fair. But if the answer's no, no biggie. See it as a way of giving back to my community. yeah kind of debating between the ducati or a slightly more chilled ride like a v-rod or maybe even a chopper...or maybe none of those and hop on an ariel atom . we'll see what the work bonus entails this year. But a chopper will most likely cause my neighbors to lock up their doors when i turn the corner. haha have a good one.

Hi, if you must lawyer every thing said, you'll fail to see what's very "human" in between. hope that makes sense and you don't think i'm trying to say lawyers arent human.... point i'm trying to make or say is no none of those two things are more important than other. but no matter how capable we are and thinking that we're very capable of multi tasking...truth is, things will slip. it's up to technology to help us keep up with our growing "busier" daily life and when a company isn't capable of offering simple technology that exists even in lowest trim level from comeptitor such as auto off lighting when you power down the vehicle and open the door... there's much to be said about it and merits my opinion. I was talking about both the day time driving lights and interior dash dials/instrumentations being very bright and well lit. So even if you were to climb into the car at night it'll be as if the regular headlamp is already on and your instrumentations are already backlit. Only thing off is pretty much the rear parking light and that's what caught that cop's attention and invited him to get "involved".

sounds like your ego's been crushed by a few words from another person's opinion. yes i mean the likes of toyota/honda/and sorry to say but even Huyndai. all base models do not have auto on/off headlights but does have the feature that turns off the headlamp when you open the door after ignition is turned off. This is a fail safe that prevents the battery from draining itself out. My mom's 2002 honda civic already has this feature. heck if this feature was avail, i'd just drive around with my night lights on all the time and problem would be fixed. bulbs are cheap. just too bad that a car maker company would (i'd consider) be in the dark age when it comes to little innovations here and there. "thank you sir, please let me have another"

Hi edge owners. I'm trying to install in an aftermarket auto on/off headlamp kit into my 2012 edge SE. Does anyone know where the headlamp relay is and what polarity is the light switch? been searching online for these two bits of information. Thanks and appreciate any guidance.

Hi, no not a Pharm rep. Already too many people in the Pharm field in my family so I became a Clinical Diagnostics Engineer. I deal with blood analyzers in the Hematology branch of diagnostics. So if you have family/friends who's ever been admitted to the ER and got treated fast due to very fast blood analysis/results...you're welcome. ...er i guess if it didnt work out too well then the hospital must have went with my competitors
-
some of us have more important things to think about than worrying about a little mundane switch that turns on/off lights (example: what needs to be done at my next hospital so sick people don't wait around an hour for their dr to decide on their treatment or another lab./er somewhere else over the phone). also like i mentioned, the day time light is as bright as night driving lights and the dials are also very well luminated in day time mode. The company did make sure i got the sync system so bluetooth/handsfree mode is included (and heavily used). It's actually quite easy to quickly try and sum people up. Sometimes, just simply can't hate foreign car companies for kicking our home grown cars to the curb due to our inability to be competitive. No mater how small and simple the innovation may be. btw, get alot of riding done on your NInja? I sold my cbr600rr grafiti special edition a few months back and starting to miss the ride. Hope Ducati comes out with the 1198 in pearl again. thanks for your thought.
