  1. You're right about the TUEV. To be honest, I never heard about that before lol. When our car arrived here we got a 3 year registration, w/o needing an inspection, because it was a new car. Paying American prices for gas is a real blessing over here.
  2. Mine is Metallic Earth. That translates into dark brown with shiney flakes :hysterical2: The color feels buisness professional to me. I wouldn't say much faster, only because german gas is about $8 a gallon these days, but definately a smoother, more stylish, and a more entertaining ride. I love taking trips to Frankfurt. As far as upgrades, I have listed them all as links in my signature, I'm talking about taking your Edge to the next level :shades: . Replacing stock lights with LEDs for a "truer white light" look (like this one: LED Map Lights), modifications that are cheap and functional (like this one: Center console tray), and some that are just plain cool (like this one: HID headlight conversion). There are a lot that you can do for just a few dollars. I actually have some LEDs left over from my upgrades that I would be willing to send your way. You could swap out the lights above your license plate and your map lights if you wanted. Feel free to PM me and we can talk about it. With you living in Germany, shipping would be pretty fast =)
  3. :hysterical2: I have been wanting to take my Edge to the Nurburgring. There are a bunch of cars over here that have a sticker of the ring symbolizing they drove it. I dont like to tag my car with stickers, but I think I would make an acception for that one.
  4. Very nice! Looks like you have the same/similar color as our Edge. We really love how ours looks. We are in the Kaiserslaughtern area about an hour away from you. So its good to see another Edge over here. You will really enjoy it and good luck with any upgrades you decide to tackle. ^_^
  5. Did you ever paint your grill/wheels? I used metallic black 3m Scotch on my entire grill and it worked out great. Check out the link in my signature. On your car, I think I would prefer the same color as the body. Black matches pretty much everything, so going that route on the wheels would be nice.
  6. First, congrats on the little one coming! Second, congrats on the bigger one! Lol I am sure you will have many great times with both of the additions to your family and we will be here to help you (with what we can -_^) along the way. There are lots of people here that know a lot about Edges and that are having fun learing about them too (me). Dont be afraid to ask any questions you might have. Welcome and I look forward to seeing you around the forum!
  7. This is amazing! Something like this could help my wife park the car I look forward to your instructions.
  8. I really liked how Ford incorporated the metallic flakes into the paint recently. It really reduces the amount of visible dirt on our Edge. Even though it is a darker color, you have to be 5-7ft away before you can really notice the dirt. That was one of those things I didnt really pay any attention to until after I had the vehicle for awhile.
  9. In reference to the original topic, whenever I take this snorkel off I squeeze in the top and bottom sides and get a flathead screw driver to help pry the remaining clip past the air box wall. Doesn't require as much effort this way and comes out damage free.
  10. I have always been more of a conservative color lover. Thats why we went with the Metallic Earth on our '11. But all in all, its what you like. What color Edge can you see yourself driving without getting tired of after awhile. Whats going to make you the happiest? Good luck with your decision!
  11. Yeah, it was difficult for us to get on. A little patience goes a long way lol. But it turned out great for us. I would say that it is a cheap option for those that aren't ready to pay to buy and get a new grill painted. Ours turned out pretty nice though.
  12. Hey JD, thanks again for your service! I've spent awhile in Iraq myself. But I'm glad you went with the American Racing package. Like a lot of the other members here, I like the 5 spoke style too. Great choice! I look forward to seeing some pics when you get back into town. Keep your head down out there!
  13. Here are a few links to help with finding a diagram (not saying any of these are the cheapest options). Atleast something to help you know what to search for. http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/2010-Ford-Edge-Lincoln-MKX-Wiring-Diagram-Manual-Original-P24481.aspx and Dingo mentioned Helm Inc. Find them here: http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp?Style=helm&Mfg=FMC&Make=FRD&Model=EDGE&Year=2010&Category=3&Keyword=&Module=&selected%5Fmedia=
  14. Is this the only view you get? Can you actively use your navigation system?
  15. Velcro could be a quick and cheap fix. A small bit of it could provide some stress relief until you can find out what is really going on.
  16. Thanks a lot KC. Your right about the DRLs, they will look quite stunning when I get them in. I would say that the chrome strip you have left on your grill is the easiest to put on. That is a one man job. The lower, bigger, portions of the grill definitely took two people to accomplish. Each piece had its own challenge associated with it, but it was a fun project. Dingo launched the link at me earlier in the thread. Here it is again for those that missed it: http://www.metrorestyling.com/3M-1080-Scotchprint-Gloss-Black-Metallic-Vinyl-p/gloss1080g212.htm
  17. Thanks! I'm totally stocked about the black grill. I have always been envious of the Sport owners. Now I have mine!
  18. How does your Nav work over here??? Mine just shows up a blank screen.
  19. Hey Edge AB, welcome to the forums. I also have had my Edge (Limited) for 9 months now, but I haven't had the same problems you are having with your MFT. Have you applied the latest performance patch? I don't have the a Sport, so I can't comment on the whining/roaring. Nor do I have a sunroof, but I'm sure someone here has an answer for you (or at least a push in the right direction).

  23. Thanks a lot! I think it totally transforms the look of her.
  24. My wrap from Scotch just arrived today and I installed it on the entire front grill in 2 hours. It was a slow process but came out great! It has its imperfections but you won't be able to see them unless you are up on the grill for a close inspection. What do you guys think? Ill be the only '11 Metallic Earth Edge Limited in Germany with a blacked out grill for sure! A HUGE thanks goes out to DINGO for recommending this product! Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think!
