New headlights finally done
Cellbine replied to whiteis33's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Looks pretty unique! What do they look like with the headlights on? Do they obstruct the light any? They really look like eyes and it fits well with your transformer theme. -
Great pick on the color! I really like it. Welcome.

I have tickets like that too, but mine are mean versions. I put them on one mercedes double parked diagonally, like an A-hole, went inside the store and when I came back the note was back and the car was re-parked. I felt bad, because the fake ticket is pretty mean, but it got the job done. Maybe, maybe I'll upload it.

For Those Who Bought A 2011 Edge in 2010...
Cellbine replied to OnlySkillz's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
I bought my Limited in 2010 and picked it up in Aug 2011 (I'm in the military and had to ship it overseas). Honestly, I haven't had many problems with it. The only problem I really run into is sometimes the remote ignition doesn't start, but that doesn't happen very often. It's a great car that I don't have to worry about. MPG is pretty good for its weight and I only budget $200 a month for gas, sometimes I reach my limit and sometimes I don't. I really enjoy the comfort and ride of the vehicle. I have owned it for almost a year now and I have still found myself going back out to the garage to look at it or find something to clean or work on lol. I love this car! One thing I don't like is how far away the door is from the driver's seat. I'm 5'8" and I want to prop my elbow up on the window ledge, but its barely reachable for me. After a while, it becomes uncomfortable to keep my arm up there. I also wish there were turning indicators on the side view mirrors. I opt'd for the 18" wheels on mine and I haven't once seriously considered upgrading to a bigger size. I like the way the wheels look and I get better gas mileage. I can't really think of anything else right now. But I definitely think this car is awesome. Great ride, cool technology (MFT has never had issues in my Edge), and an awesome look. -

I bet there are a lot of Edge owners like you out there, that use sports as back grounds. Have you used any other types of backgrounds? -

2011 EDGE CENTER CONSOLE TRAY: GONE !!!
Cellbine replied to Razorback007's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Wow Dingo, this is by far the cleanest fabrication for this mod that I have seen. I absolutely love how you integrated the handle at the top. Is the top surface non-slip? Looks really great. -
No, I checked my order confirmation and I ordered the 60" x 48" option. It was enough to wrap the whole grill and there was enough extra to fix any mistakes up to the size of a whole chrome section. I also ordered the squeegee with it. It was like 2 bucks and was well worth the money if you don't have one.

Cajun, Because my Edge came with the vertical light, I was able to order the DRLs with the light bar. Like KC said, you will need to get intimate with your Edge's front end and look to see if there is wiring ran for the vertical lights. It should be a small bundle of wires with a connector looking like this: (imagine that you are looking at the connector straight on when seeing KC's pic below.) Now here is the good news. If you don't have the wiring ran, the DRL installs only needing a wire from one of your turn signals. If you have turn signals, you can still get the really bright DRL lights. Only the light bar in the DRLs that comes OEM on certain models of the Edge needs the wiring that you may be missing. Hope this helps.

2011 EDGE CENTER CONSOLE TRAY: GONE !!!
Cellbine replied to Razorback007's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Yeah, if you look at my design, I knotched out the area for the coin track. It makes it considerably easier to pull out. Be sure to make the notch long enough when you consider how much you need to tilt the shelf when pulling it out...if you go that route. -
The color on this car looks amazing! If this color was available in 2011, I would have ordered it. Seeing your Edge color is the first time I have been jealous of someone else's color lol Congratulations!

2011 EDGE CENTER CONSOLE TRAY: GONE !!!
Cellbine replied to Razorback007's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Very cool. I really like the lip design. It's almost like a his and her side lol. When I get some time to make another one, I think I will do the same with mine but with smaller trim pieces. I just want to be able to pull it out without everything falling off the shelf. I like the handle idea! Probably helps get the shelf in and out easily. Good job! Post another picture after you finish it. -
Welcome! There is a ton of info here to help you mod your Edge out. Enjoy your new ride!

I had an older explorer once with vibration in the steering wheel. It was fixed with an alignment.

I know everyone has been seeking the posts for Daytime BrightLite everywhere, but I have yet to see a review on them. So I decided to take the bull by the horns on this one. I purchased the Side mounted light pipe version of DRLs from Daytimebrightlites.com and have had them installed for about 2weeks now. I have to say that instillation was very simple and took me less than an hour. I have never touched my bumper before, so it was fun getting to know that part of my car. In the DBL instructions, it says to remove 3 screws to access the OEM light, if you find that you have bigger hands or just want a little extra room in there, take off the screw under the bumper. That will allow the flexible fender wall to come out more. After that the instillation is straight forward. DBL has a lot of install videos out there, so I won't get into the details. As for how bright they are, all I can say is DAMNN! What a vast improvement. I was always seriously disappointed with the light output from the OEM vertical strip. When I ordered my Edge from the factory, I just assumed the vertical lights were DRLs. (It appears that these are for some countries software enabling them to be DRLs, but I have an American Spec Edge.) So when I saw these DRLs become available, I had to jump on them! Each light producing 440 Lumens at 100% brightness is a lot of light. I love that Audi/Mercedes DRL look driving down the street. Sometimes I am able to see a front on reflection of my Edge as I drive to work and it looks awesome! (I love that part of my day lol) One major difference that you will find is that there is no reflector behind the light pipe anymore. It has been replaced by the Phillips DRLs. So you will not be able to see light pipe light up as brightly in full day light. Nighttime is a different story though as it lights up like a lightsaber! I really like that whole assembly is black. For those that are blacking out their Edges or don't like shiny things on your car, these lights definitely change the look of the lower bumper. I have to say that working with the guys that run Daytimebrightlites.com was a real pleasure too. Every question or concern I had was answered quickly, eagerly, and courteously. In the beginning of my install, I had issues with Phillip's control box which senses the power current of your vehicle (it tells the DRLs when to turn on and off). They worked very diligently to contact Phillips, find out what the issue was, and send me a replacement extremely quickly. I already got heads to turn with my Edge. With all the mods I have completed, with help from around the forum, my Edge keeps looking better and better. But now with these DRLs, it is seriously like a bacon shinning out to ships lost at sea. Pedestrians see Killer (my car's name as the license plate starts with KLER :shades: ) and then they take that second look that we all know and love. Below is a video I put together so you can see the lights in action in day/nighttime. I tried to leave in as much audio as possible, but there are some clips where the traffic or other noises forced me to take it out. Love that exhaust sound though! Some of the pictures in the video got blown out, so I posted them as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVodBcpv7pI Side profile: DRLs 50%, Parking lights only: DRLs 100%, all lights off: This is a pic of the OEM lights. Camera I used when I took this pic made the lights look really blue. I hope that you find this review helpful. I highly recommend these lights. It is one of the best ways to make your Edge stand out!

Some more I found around the web that I like: -
I was wondering what background pictures everyone is using on their home screen. Does anyone have cool images out there? Feel free to post what you use! Here are some of mine. I like the seasonal pictures. Everyone is welcome to any of the images I use. I think this one is fun to display on a Microsoft platform:

I believe I ordered the 60in x 60in sheet. I had an all chrome grill and wrapped it all including the chrome strip. Pretty much I took a measuring tape and went out to the car and measured the height and width of the entire grill together, then added some extra material just in case. We didn't really goof the install, so the extra material was sent to another forum member to use, but I am glad we had it just in case. We also bought the application squeegee for a $1.99, that was well worth it. My advice is to take a tape measure out to your Edge and measure for yourself just to ensure you get the right amount.
