Yes we are planning to find out the sex. We would die waiting to find out lol. But we will remember your advice if we change our minds =) Thanks!

Haha, good point. I think in the womb it is around 70-95dB from the mother's heartbeat. So a lot of babies find white noise, or background noise, comforting. Ill keep all of that in mind when it comes time to justify the purchase :P

With a baby on the way, I'd have to get financial permission and I dont see that happening soon lol. Maybe in a few years. I dont remember how much they run though. Might be a few months of saving up for me. Looking forward to your new video.

If you don't want to smell anything from outside your car, you need to recycle the air in the cabin.

I have listed in a few posts links to wiring diagrams on this forum. Have you done a search in the forums for it?

Welcome to the forums! Funny you say that because when I purchased my Edge, somehow I didnt even know the MKX existed! I love my Edge to death, but we wanted a bit more luxury. Thats why we got a limited. I really like a lot of the features the MKXs have. I personally like the look of the Edge better, but you can't look at the exterior of your car when your driving it lol. Anyways, glad to see you finally found us. Hope to see what you do with your ride in the future!

Garage Door Opener - Homelink

I have never programed a button before. So none of them are programed. Just to be sure, I followed the instructions and cleared all the buttons. It just seems like homelink will kot recognize my handheld reciever. The homelink light never flashes quickly. I have tried many distances from touching homelink all the way to about 6 inches away and even directly behind the visor where homelink is located. I have held down the buttons until homelink just stops flashing all together. All of this done with fresh batteries in the remote. Still no luck. -

I also thought they were individual methods. Ill have to give that a shot. -

Skillz, The way you are doing it is the alternate way to do it. Dingo has specified the first way the car manual states you should make the connection. After you hit the smart button you need push the home link button, like you are, until it makes the connection. If you are still having trouble getting it connected, visit your garage door manufacture's website to get specific instructions on how to link you Edge with it. I am actually having trouble connecting mine too, but I think I can't connect mine because my opener is an older german one. Really sucks because I want to use home link. -
Thanks everyone!

Hey Mike, for some reason I just don't think that video does your exhaust justice!! It sounds good. Is there anyway you can get a mic up to it and record the audio and video separately? I really want to hear the real thing lol. I installed a custom exhaust on my old explorer before, so I know how much of a difference it can make. Your new system looks good and it makes me want to get one for my Edge!

How have you liked this protector. Most Zagg covers can be fairly thick, is this one? Does it leave scratch marks? Thanks.

Mine said that too when it was new. I now have over 10k miles on it and whenever I fill up it says different things. I believe it goes off of recent mpg calculations from your Edge. If I have driven a lot of city recently the mpg is lower than if I have driven a lot of highway. Additionally, I believe that you engine's mpg will normalize after you have broken it in. Someone can probably help with when that exactly is, around 12k-15k miles I think. So in the early milage, you probably see fluctuation in the calculations.

Stock 22 Sport Wheels - Matte Black w Vinyl or Plasti Dip?
Cellbine replied to confuego's topic in Wheels & Tires
Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new ride! I have wrapped my grill in metallic black 3M wrap. It had its challenges and took about 2 hours to do. I have no idea how long it would take to wrap your wheels in vinyl, but it seems like it would be considerably more difficult than what it took to wrap my grill. Have you wrapped wheels in vinyl before? I just ordered a kit to plastidip my wheels in matte black. I think for the price and the effort that it will require, well worth going with that option. Ive seen that a good application takes about one can per wheel. I don't know what your plastidip experience is, but here is what I have found out in research. A fast and easy way to protect your rotors from plastidip is to take a trash bag and fold it in half length wise. Then cut along the long folded edge of the bag about 70% up to the top (should look like a pair of pants). Slide the bag behind the wheel and cover the rotor by placing "crotch" area of the trash bag at the top of the rotor and droping each side around the remainder of the exposed rotor. Tuck the bag around the back side of the rotor to make sure it is completely covered and doesn't move. Then plastidip until you wheels are done! When you remove the trash bag, make sure the dip is dry, reach your hand through a large spoke of your tire, and bunch up the bag in your fist BEFORE you pull it through. This will help minimize any mess ups and it will come out pretty easily. IMHO, this is a much better way than taping off your rotors and a huge time saver. I really like your two-tone idea by keeping your shiny black on your wheels. To maintain a clean line against the two colors when your dipping, you will have to remove the painters tape when the application of plastidip is still wet. Still do your 3-4 coats, but you will want to wait 45 sec to 1 min before adding your next coat. Pulling the tape up while its still wet will ensure a surgical line. This process might take some practice because it requires much faster application of coats than normal. I think normally you wait about 15-30 mins before adding additional coats. You will need to make sure that your application technique is good, clean, and steady to avoid hazy or bubbly finishes. Well, I hope that you didn't already know all this information and that I could help with your decision a bit. This is what I will be doing. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to finding out which direction your going to go with your wheels! Post pics when you can. Oh, this is where I ordered my Plastidip from: http://www.dipyourcar.com/ I can't drive down the road and pick this stuff up, because I live in Germany, so this was a good alternative. I bought the wheel kit and the spray trigger. Came out to $43 shipped. -

Thanks everyone! It would be awesome to see that transformation every week, especially in 3D. I'm not sure if they have that here at the military medical facility or not, but I'm definitely going to ask about it. I wish the exchange rate was still like that! This is my second tour here now, so I have also spent 4 years in Germany. The autobahn seems crazy, but I really want to take the Edge out to the Nuremberg ring. Honestly, I am still researching this whole process lol. I had no idea that you could see the face before they are delivered. That's really cool. I totally understand how your driving changed. I feel like I'm going to do the same thing as you did!

So, I have been checking my MPG in the last week and it has increased by at least 2MPG! Want to know the secret? We found out a few weeks ago that my wife is pregnant! So I have been really trying to drive safely and defensively. Its our first child, so its a little scary but I think this is going to be great! Anyways, I just wanted to shout that out. If you don't like this mod, then you can avoid it by being celibate or using the protection mod. //thatisall
