  1. I have to say, I am kind of disappointed with the output of these LEDs. I wish they were brighter.
  2. Back in '08 I had an Explorer. I was also in a rush and had a lot going on that day. I just finished vacuuming my car in the garage and was going to pull out in the drive way to wash it. So I jump in the driver's seat, place left hand on the wheel, right hand on the passenger seat, and look back over my shoulder as I reversed. After hearing a loud noise while backing up, i realized that I left the driver's door open and it got caught on the wall the garage door closes. I bent it to at least 90 degrees. Had to replace the hinges and fix the door. Felt really embarrassed as well. Don't feel so bad, this happens even with the best intensions. I bet you won't do it again though =)
  3. Glad to see an inside shot actually. KC, we need to cover those silver center console trim pieces with black 3m wrap...or at least I need to. :hysterical2:

  5. I'm interested to know if they have European navigation.
  6. Home from work, stuffed inside my tiny German garage.
  7. If you keep a proper distance from the wheel and don't overload the coats you will be fine. The procedure is pretty simple so there is no need to over complicate things :D If you want to make sure you have your technique down, first try a few coats on a practice piece of wood or something else you dont mind a little plasti-dip on. When you have the method down you will be good to go on your actual project.

This is my exact setup. Looks good!
  9. If you don't want to take the wheels off the car this is what you can do. Get a trash bag and cut it in the middle of the open end to roughly 80% to the bottom of the bag vertically. it will look like a pair of pants. Then feed the bag behind the wheel (at the top) and drape the two legs of the trash bag down to cover the rotor. This will completely cover everything behind the wheel so you can spray freely. A few pieces of tape to hold the legs of the bag together after it passes the middle of the wheel will help. Do not remove the trash bag until all your coats are dry. When you apply your first coat, regardless if you take your wheels off or not, you should not be a complete coat. Spray the entire wheel but let it have about 50-60% transparency. It should be a light coat. This will help your next adhere well to the wheel. Your coats after the first one can be full on coats. People have different time frames between coats, but if you wait 15-20 mins to let them dry you should be fine.
  10. All, I thought I saw this link in the forums somewhere, but I couldn't find it recently. So I decided to post it here for those that might need it. Real simple, just replace my VIN with your VIN at the end of the link. http://services.ford...MDK3KC8BBB09307 Sorry if this has already been posted.
  11. Will do. The only thing holding me back is the price. 20 euro per bottle. To do the wheels right, it will take about a bottle a wheel.
  12. For all of us that live in Germany, I think I just found where we can get Plasti Dip! Now, I haven't been to the store myself. I literally just found this online. I'm going to take a trip to Saarbrucken next weekend (bc everything is closed on Sundays in Germany) and see if I can pick some up. A store called Conrad sells it. Check out the link: http://www.conrad.de...earchDetail=005
  13. Haha, made me laugh. I would definately try that if I wasn't in Germany lol. I think the weather might be effecting the functionality with it. As soon as it started getting cold over here, it started working properly. Im just tired of having to worry about it. For awhile there, I was climbing in through the passenger side of the vehicle. I don't want to go through that again...
  14. Well, went to pick up the car and they said after they brought it into the garage the problem wouldn't repeat itself. So they looked at the wiring and the mechanism and everything looked and worked fine. They said they drove it down a bumby road and the door still worked.... So they didn't fix it because they couldn't see the problem. How ridiculous is that?! I showed it to them in the parking lot. I was pretty upset. They said if it happens again, to bring it in and leave it for 2 days. They told me they would be able to see the problem for sure then :gang:. I was able to keep my composure at the dealer, but my point is that I showed them when it wasnt operational and they said they could fix it but they didn't. Now they want me to bring it in when it doesnt work again so they can fix it? Didn't I just do that?
  15. Yeah, matte black is probably the best option. Ill have to order some.
  16. So, my Edge finally went to the shop today to get repaired. I was worried about it too because this whole week the door has been functioning perfectly. I always hear the phrase, if we can't see the problem we can't fix it, so I was hoping it wouldn't work when I arrived. When I got out of the car the door didn't respond! So I had a tech come and look at it and they said that they would get it fixed under warranty. Very happy about that. Just waiting for the call to go pick it up.
  17. Icce, I really like how the matte black wrap looks. It really ties in with the rest of the car naturally. I wonder, and this is a huge shot in the dark, if covering it in suede would look good.
  18. From the MFT manual: pg. 57 I think. Photo display limitations: • Compatible file formats are as follows: .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp • Each file must be 1.5 MB or less. • Recommended dimensions: 800 x 378 • Only the photograph(s) which meet these conditions will be displayed. Photographs with extremely large dimensions (i.e., 2048 x 1536) may not be compatible and will appear as a blank (black) image on the display.
  19. I believe, after a recent MFT update, the new size is 800 x 384. The old resolution is 800 x 378. This is all assuming that the screen sizes are the same across the board. This is the resolution I use in my Edge.
  20. Hopefully they get to you soon. Let us know how the install goes. Feel free to post a vid or pics =)
  21. Awesome, Hope mine goes as smooth as yours went. Would love to, live in Germany.
