Just thought I would throw my shots up real quick. Not the best shots, but just got back from a day trip to France.

Need feedback - Looking to purchase a Ford Edge
Cellbine replied to Rivas's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I think the average driver puts on 10-12k miles a year on vehicles. That's what I remember my insurance company telling me. I have an '11 I bought brand new, it has 25k on it and I drive it everyday to and from work. I don't do a lot of cross-state/country driving though. -
Oh, I have also had my Edge PD for 9+ months. Still looks great.
-
Absolutely no offense taken. I like/promote PD because it is a cheap alternative, provides protection, and is very forgiving. I can take it off any time I want with little effort and clean-up. Vinyl wrapping is the opposite. To each his own, and in the end it is your Edge. Do what you like best and what fits your budget Cheers!

I have not redone my wheels or my grill. I did hit a few holidays on my grill and need to do my wheels too. I just ran out of PD, that's why I didn't get total coverage. Grill looks just like the day I dipped it. The wheels have some brake dust on the, but better on the PD then on the chrome. The masking can be a pain, but the more you put into prep work the better your end result will be. It can be a pain to take the inserts out if you decide to take the grill off. I like the total coverage I got on the inserts when I took mine out though. Whichever way you decide to accomplish the task, you will be pleased with the results. Good luck and post some pics!

I agree. Not something I planned on, but still looks good. She would look better lowered and with new/bigger rims and wheels.

My fault, should be view-able now.

Just cleaned and waxed her:

It shouldn't be very hard as long as you know the right mixtures. Just make sure you protect your iPad well enough. Blue tape the crap out of it. Some people even wrap their tablets in foil before blue tapping it up. As a tip, I would make a few of the initial molds right off the bat, that way you have backups and don't have to be afraid to see if certain modifications to the mold work the way you think they will. Order your magnets before you begin anything. Can't really make your molds without them as they need to be integrated into the body of the fiberglass.

Since they updated their website, they don't advertise it anymore. Someone on this forum actually contacted them and I think they said $700. A ridiculous price. I have contacted them several times with no response. That's why I tried to make it myself. Then reference my post above.

Cool. It all seems a bit intimidating, but once you do it you find out there is nothing to it.- 32 replies

How To: Remove Front Bumper; 2011-2013 models

Here are some pics for you. There is one bottom clip and 3 top clips all together. The bottom clip pushes in on the outside of the metal clip shown here: The top clips are held into place by a plastic "prong/clip". Each clip on the bumper has a hole that snaps into the prong. Clips can be seen in this picture with the red arrows pointing to them: When pulling this part of the bumper off, hold directly behind the bottom clip ( Blue arrow 1) and pull in the direction of Blue arrow 2. When done like this, it should not take much force to get the bumper unclipped from the body. The red arrows in the picture below will follow when the bottom clip has released. Notice the holes in the top 3 clips of the bumper, this was mentioned above the second picture. When putting the bumper back on, start by pushing the bottom clip into place then the top 3. Remember that the bottom clip will cover the metal clip on the outside. When done, the flexible wheel well will screw directly through the hole in the bumper and then into the metal clip. Hope this helps clear things up a bit.- 32 replies

I actually bought fiberglass material to build a Nexus 7 mount. I have no FG experience, but you can learn a lot form YT. When I finally got my hands on a N7, I was pleased with it but quickly realized that really didn't need it in the car. I live in Germany, so there's really no good way for me to get a data stream to it (I know N7 is wifi only, but I could tether it to my phone). The data plans out here are not unlimited, even thought thats what they state, and connection speeds can be really slow. It would be more of a pain for me to constantly be pulling the tablet in and out of place every time I enter/exit the vehicle. So I returned the tablet within 2 days and didn't even attempt to make the mount. It wasn't worth it to me. I would rather have something seamlessly integrated into the touchscreen like this: AppleTV: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/gallery/image/3286-apple-tv-apps-page-2/ Check out these other threads on the video above: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11740-nexus-7-tablet-over-myford-touch-screen/?hl=nexus http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11280-custom-nexus-7-mount/?hl=nexus http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11045-nice-tablet-install/?hl=tablet

5000k 35W here. In Germany they only have street lights in city limits. There are not many streets outside cities that have lights. My 35W kit does a good job of lighting it up, but I wish I had 55W kits. When there are no street lights, it is amazing how dark it can get. I just don't want to be blinding people driving by. I think that street lights would help drown out a bit of the brightness from a 55W kit, and seeing as there aren't many street lights here I don't think an upgrade is in my cards for now.
-
Nice. Upgrading the lights was probably the first think I did to my Edge. Simple, cheap, and makes a huge difference. These are the LEDs that I am using. They are much brighter than the 9-SMD LEDs I used before: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006R34PB4/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Post a link to the ones you are using.

If you start a thread about this and upload your pics to photobucket, you can just post links to your pics and they will show up in the thread. That is what I do. Any pics you see of mine in a thread I am posting in are links. Works great and you don't have to worry about how big your album on the site is.
