  1. I ended up using double side tape to mount the tweeters. It worked great.
  2. I have a 2010 edge Ltd. I went with the Infinity 5x7 co-ax in the back and 5 1/4 components in the front. I used an adapter plate for the front. I put some foam baffles in but cut out the bottom of the baffle. The baffle is in for moisture protection only. The picture shows where I put the crossover for the front components. You can see removal of the plastic piece that has the window buttons allows access to the db adjuster which is convenient, that was kind of a fluke since I didn't intend that to happen. I used velcro tape to mount the crossover. I replaced the stock tweeters in the A pillars with the Infinity's. The stock plastic tweeter mount works great for the Infinity's tweeter. Just pop out the factory tweeter put some double side tape in the mount and push the new tweeter in place. I thought about doing a surface mount but using the existing mount is cleaner. Actually the factory speakers for the 2010 Edge Ltd aren't horrible, but the Infinity's sound a bit better. I bought some sound mat to use but it is impossible to get at the outer part of the door so don't bother buying that. The sub-woofer in the back is junk, can't hear it at all. Here is a link to some pictures. http://s1102.photobucket.com/albums/g447/pacodog1/2010%20Ford%20edge%20Limited%20Infinity%20speaker%20install/
  3. I got speakers installed, they sound pretty good. I still don't have the A pillars back on yet. How did you mount the tweeters inside the A pillars. The only way I can see of doing that is glue them into the existing tweeter holders. They actually fit in the stock holders pretty snug but would need glued in to stay there? The alternative is the flush mount them. The speakers came with some nice flush mount hardware.
  4. Did you change out your tweeters in the A pillars also? If so did you did you mount them inside like stock or do a surface mount?
  5. Resurrecting an old thread. This one has a lot of good info. I have a 2010 Edge Limited and was wanting to do the components in the front and Co-ax in the back. I am looking at Boston Accoustics SE60 in front and the SE85's in the back. Use the stock head unit. The SE60's use a 6 1/2 " speaker. Crutchfield says the 5 1/4" is the biggest speaker that can go up front. One of the installers in this thread used 6 1/2" DSL's up front with no apparent issues. Of course speaker adapter plates are needed. Anyone else try the BA's or used a 6 1/2 " speaker in the front door. Did it work okay?
