  1. She is all fixed now. It was the output shaft speed sensor that went bad. Dealership got it replaced and we went and picked it up tonight.
  2. After doing some more digging through the forum on this topic I found this topic http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/3514-odo-data-error/page__p__27392__hl__odo+data__fromsearch__1#entry27392 This is exactly what was happening last night. Now I just have to wait until Tuesday when the dealership is open to see if it is just some sensors. I will keep everybody posted on the outcome.
  3. So I have a some odd ball things happen in the last few weeks and they all came to a head tonight. About a month ago while driving I had the check engine and airbag lights come on and the speedo and odo stopped working. Before I got to the next stop sign all the warning lights went off and everything started working properly again. I let it go as a computer glitch. Last Saturday we stopped to pick up a pizza and when we left everything was fine in reverse but then when I put it in drive it acted like the trans was slipping. I stopped the car, put it in park and turned it off. Then I turned it back on and everything was fine again. I figured that the next time I took it to the dealership I would bring these "glitches" up to them. Tonight we went over to the Detroit Area for Chirstmas Eve and on the way home the you know what hit the fan. I was going about 78 with cruise set and all of a sudden the cruise turned off. I looked down and the airbag and check engine light were on, the speedo was at 0 and the odometer said "no odo data" and dispalyed all dashes. I figured I would pull over and turn the car off and on to clear the "glitch" again. Not so lucky this time. Once back on I had very little drive in the tranny and a lot of slipping. I cycled the car on and off a few times and kept trying it but got nothing the the tranny clunked when going into gear. I figured I did enough and called a tow truck. It is now sitting at a dealership lot in Jackson MI which is about half way between where we were tonight and home. Had to have my sister leave her Christmas party and make the hour drive to come and get us to bring us home. Now we have to wait until Tuesday before the dealership is open and can take a look at it. Side note. It is a 2008 with just over 28,000 miles on it. The factory warranty ended on 11/29/11 but we bought the Ford factory bumper to bumper warranty that gives up coverage until 11/29/15, the only thing we pay is a $100 deductible. The tow was covered by our insurance road side assitance. I guess the good news is that the worst thing we face is the $100 deductible and the hour drive back to pick it up when ever they get it done. The bad news is that I havea feeling it is more of an electrical problem than a tranny problem. Hopefully just the BCM and it's an easy fix but my luck just isnt that good. Does anybody have any thoughts as to what this could be? Merry Christmas!!!
  4. I went with 55w 5,000K kits from DDM Tuning and added in the harness that they sell. I did the set up for the lows and the fogs. They look amazing and produce so much light. I have never driven a car with this much light output before. Their website is www.ddmtuning.com and both sets use the H11 bulbs.
  5. I just went with HID's for low beams and fog lights on my wife's 2008 MKX with the adaptive headlights. I used DDM Tuning and went with 55w 5000k kits with the extra DDM wiring harness. They are so sweet and very bright. I did have to adjust the aim afterwards but now that I have them set right I love them.
  6. So I had bought a couple of HID kits on eBay for the MKX and right from the start the lights were pulsating. I sent them back and bought 2 sets of 500K 55W HID kits from DDM Tuning and bought their wiring harnesses for both sets. What a difference those made. I will not be buying the crap eBay kits anymore. I have the DDM kits on my 08 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP and the wifes MKX. I really like the 5500K white light and the 55w is just super bright. I had to adjust the aiming of the headlights because they were up pretty high and I don't think the oncoming traffic would have liked them the way they were. She loves the car and how well she can see at night now.
  7. I am using a plug and play set up for the lights so it's the factory ground.
  8. I got my wife a 2008 MKX in Ice Blue last month. It has the dual sunroofs black leather with tan piping heated and cooled seats sync and adaptive headlights. I have changed the low beams and fogs to hid's. I am having some pulsating in the lights and I am assuming its from going with the cheap kits. I am going to replace them with some from dim tuning and hope that fixes them. We love the car so far. It has 22,000 miles on it when we bought it. It was a FL leased car and is under factory warranty until Feb 2012. We bought the Ford extended bumper to bumper warranty that goes until Fen 2015 or 100,000 miles.
