Open the sunroof and get in the back. There is a plastic trim piece around the rear sunroof that rattles. Flick it with your finger and you'll see what I mean. I got the inside of my truck really warm with the heater and carefully put a layer of Dynamat (easy to buy at Best Buy or a stereo shop) along the inside of the trim piece. If it has fallen away from the velcro at the corners it will continue to do so all the time and you will also need to go to Home Depot and buy some industrial strength velcro to replace it. The dealer will just stick it back and call it fixed. This small part is the only rattle I have ever had in my 2008 MKX and is a horrible piece of engineering. Good luck.

This week my 2008 MKX started having transmission troubles out of the blue. Upon take off it shudders and shakes the entire car, then as I try to accelerate it slips badly with any decent throttle application. The problem is that this problem is not throwing a code. I have the truck at the dealer now for them to try to replicate the problem. Has anyone else had an issue like this. I am glad that I have a CPO car and this is covered, but it is frustrating.

Hey forum, my 2008 Lincoln MKX has been at the dealer for a few days for some problems that I noticed after taking delivery. The last one, the one the dealer is having problems diagnosing, is a problem with the satellite radio. The service is active and the NAV/SYNC radio states "NO SIGNAL". The dealer replaced the sirius module and say they checked the antenna wire from the back of the head unit, along the headliner to the antenna and found no frays. They are going to try to replace the actual antenna puck today. Anyone had a similar problem?

I just picked up a 2008 Lincoln MKX 2 days ago. I traded in my 2010 Toyota Venza which I loved, but I needed a cheaper payment. I got the Lincoln certified for 23K with 51,000 miles including the 7 year/100,000 bumper to bumper warranty. My Lincoln is fully loaded except for headrest DVD. I upgraded the SYNC yesterday, installed a cargo net, performed a 3 stage cut, polish and sealant and a full interior detail. I will be installing an alarm, putting on some TSW Zolders and a K&N filter.

I wanted to solicit opinions on the factory perimeter alarm system. Before the chiming starts, I know that there are much better alarm systems available through the aftermarket, but I can purchase the factory alarm for $119 from my Lincoln dealer. I just bought my 2008 MKX and I am in the process of tasteful mods. Also, I have searched the forums and the internet exhaustively for the installation instructions, does anyone have a good link or a .pdf saved that I can use?
