Oh and by the way, fuse 37 was the one I chose before the suggestion fish. That's too funny. It's easy to get to for starters and then when I tested it I found that it only came on after the second push of the start button. That was good enuf for my purposes. For any interested I used the blend mount which can be found at blendmount.com. It mounts to the stem of the rear view mirror and then the radar detector sits just below the mirror. I LOVE it! I'll add a pic of it to my gallery soon.

I was able to easily get it done last night. C_bova was right. It did not require removal of any trim or removal of the headliner. There was tons of space to punch the wire up under the edge of the headliner and plenty of space between the rubber weather strip and the a-pillar trim to run the wire down to the fuse box. I have the direct wire power cord with the built in mute button and power indicator for both beltronics and escort radar detectors so it was never in my plan to do a direct wire tap to the mirror or headliner. Thanks for the suggestion Mr. mcclure but that setup such as done by kansas city 300c would not work for my situation.

Understood. It would prob get under my skin if someone told me they thought part of my car was ugly. I get it, I really do.

Anyone run a hardwire all the way down the side pillars and down to the fuse box? I have the hardwire kit that can be purchased to go along with the escort and beltronics. It hooks into the side of the detector with a RJ45 plug and has both a power lead and a remote mute button with some LEDs. I wanted to do this rather than just tapping into the mirror or map light because I like the idea of a remote mute switch. I'm wondering if nine has blazed this path and has any advise for running wire along the headliner and then down the front pillar. Anyone take it's while doing it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Don't get your underoos in a wad now. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of folks it there who don't like the front end of the Edge. It is just an opinion. Dig it?

My Key Programming

I followed that page and finally found the actual reference to the slot on pg 237 I believe. Kind of a maze of mess to find a programming slot. I would never found tht spot had I not asked on here. I just would not have looked there. Lazy? You bet! -
******SOLD***** That center channel Sony in your Edge is junk. If you don't believe me it's very easy to pop the grill off and remove the speaker. Take a look at it. It's bottom of the line. I have the solution. I purchased a pair of Infinity 3.5" dual cone speakers and obviously only need one of the pair. The model is the Infinity Reference 3032cf 3.5-Inch, 75-watt High Performance Two-Way Loudspeaker. I know it fits because I've already put one to use and it sounds great. The first PM for $20 plus a few bucks for shipping can have it and you don't have to buy a pair only to end up with an extra speaker like me! I can also be reached at cdpratt69@gmail.com Chris

I have a client with a custom shop who has been trying to talk me into putting on a universal under-body in line turbo that would prob do 75-100 hp but the cost installed would be nearly $4k. That's just too much for a universal kit in my opinion. What does something like that Mustang kit run? Any idea? On the same note, if SCT would get off their asses and get their software updated we could get the custom tunes and get rid of that damn speed limiter. I'm betting a custom tune with a high flow exhaust and intake would really help make the Edge more competitive in the acceleration area. I have the custom exhaust and the open intake but damn SCT is taking their SWEET freaking time!!! It's been out since 2010 for heaven's sake!

My Key Programming

Ahhh yes then Yoda. Have I do Intelligent Access! I found that damn key slot. I swear I went thru that stupid owners manual up and down and never found it spelled out clearly in there. Maybe my reading skills are slacking...who knows. I walked out to the Edge and programmed the second key as a my key. I can't wait until my wife borrows the Ford. She's gunna be pissed and I going to be laughing all damn day! Lol -

IA? Is that like AA but without all the booze? Seriously, I'm not sure what IA is. Oh, we had a Ford tempo back in my college days. It was by far the most horrible thing I've ever driven! -

I knew there was a effin key slot. Thanks coyote! I'm wondering how someone was able to program a key without the slot...just curious. And for the Dodge K car post....i got and restored a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.5L engine for my son. It has larger than standard tires and the quarter mile time should be timed in minutes and not seconds No worries on RacerX speeding in that thing. -
I'd pay just about anything to have that 3.5L Ecoboost engine in a similar style AWD Edge as my 2011. That would be the shiznitiest of all shiznit! Oh yeah!! Matter of fact, I'll take two

Sorry Sony but you have been excised from my Edge. Hiding behind the covers I put Infinity 329CFs with the in line crossovers. I used the same speaker for the center channel. -
My Key Programming

Thanks much! I think I have tried all of that but maybe I'm missing a step. I swear it seems like there is a place you are supposed to put that key fob or slot like my wife has in her Infiniti. I will follow your instructions and give it a try. My boy is just now 17 and has been driving for a year. We are all going down to a beach vacation in the Edge and he is bringing a friend; and I might let them go somewhere while my wife and I are attending a function. I know my son and he needs restrictions because he thinks he is a bulletproof RacerX. I will feel better knowing he can't do certain things. Punk kid! Thanks again for the info. -
I don't understand how to program a my key so I can set the limits and let my son drive my car. It seems by the instructions that there is a place to put the key fob for programming but I certainly can't find it. Anyone understand this process?

Lol...I'm just curious on how you guys are going about putting in the two subs. Are you making the boxes yourselves? Pre-made boxes amped up or what? If so, how do you go about that job without taking up too much room of what I consider an already small rear storage area. Any replies would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2-10" subs....sweet! Bet that kicks ass.

Love that blue stang! On the other hand, one of those cars has the biggest freaking rear spoiler I've ever seen. Uh, ready for liftoff tower!?!?
