  1. i agree with Mooshin....please don't. You can clean the windshield. I've owned my edge for a year and not one hood nick. It is just so flat it doesn't take hits. The windshield does but not the hood. It's just not worth taking away from the sweet lines on the front of the Edge to go and ruin that with an ugly deflector..U G L Y...you ain't got no alibi. Uh huh. :heartbreaker:
  2. There really is no badge here. IT's just another black part of the grill and from a slight distance it disappears.
  3. Thanks a million!!!! I really appreciate it. I do have the black interior.
  4. Lol, I'm not talking about the mat. I am talking about the hard part that has the hinged ends on it that cover the lower part of the rear of the back seats. Yes, I got one when I got my Edge but I want another one. I don't see a part number anywhere on it.

    VLEDS Switchbacks

They look really nice. Did those require a resistor?
  6. Why thank you very much Chris! You're too kind!
  7. I could be completely wrong but it seems like it should be fairly heavy. That is why I was asking. I remember building sub boxes back in my early 20's and they could get heavy in a hurry. I was really just curious if you had an idea on how much weight you would be adding. I am seriously considering doing a different box in mine (still keeping it all under the storage floor) but using up the rest of the empty and unused space in order to run another shallow mount 12" sub. Although the Pioneer SW3001 hits pretty low and hard I would like to use an additional sub for the grin factor. I wish you continued success with your build. It should turn out really nice and of course it should sound really nice. Chris
  8. That is not at all what I am speaking of when referring to the empty wiring harness. I know what a flat four harness looks like and that is not what we are speaking of, well most of us.
  9. Does anyone know the part number for the rear cargo platform? I'm talking about the piece that has to be lifted to get to the spare tire and the cargo container area. I've looked for schematics for that area but can't find anything.
  10. I must not be looking at the same plug then. There is no way they changed something as little as that from 11 to 12. There is another open plug back there on the sport that I really think has to do with trailer lighting, etc.
  11. I got the Tuxedo Black back plate back from the painter yesterday and it looks great. I'm very happy with the overall look.
  12. From the album: 2011 Edge Sport AWD

Thank goodness the rear requires just one piece!

  14. Any idea how much that will all weigh when it is done if you had to guess?
  15. It's the plug for the hitch lighting. I have backup sensors as well as tht plug sitting empty.
  16. I've seen one other Sport in my area and it is at the dealership! I really enjoy owning a vehicle that very few recognize. I guess other than the amazing top speed, blistering acceleration, and up to a million bucks, this must be similar to what it feels like to own an exotic sports car.
  17. Well aren't you just a Debbie Downer...I had a really good experience with them but that is all I have to go off of. What company do you like and suggest? I'd like to know for future reference. p.s. How goes the subwoofer setup design? Any time for it yet? Chris
  18. You are going to LOVE those springs. They are so close in performance to the Eibach that I think it would take a pro to tell the difference once mounted up on the Edge. Check with a paint and body shop on having your grille done. I bet the shops will be way cheaper than the dealership. The shops can get the Tuxedo Black with no trouble now. I appreciate your props on my grill. Check out my photo album on my audio upgrades and see what you think. It might just get you started on a very expensive adventure. I'm telling you now that if you decide on Audio upgrades I am not taking the blame for the dent on your checking account! :shades: I got my HID lights from Retro-Solutions. There were a few quirks but they were mostly my fault. I got the 55w kit and it was like adding two more headlights. I can see so much better and farther at night. The lights are fantastic. I chose the 6000k light temp because I like the tiny bit of blue. It is so slight it is almost impossible to see the color. If you are interested in getting rid of some of the ugly incandescent bulbs then may I suggest www.superlumination.com and please tell them Chris Pratt sent you. They have great stuff, fast shipping, and they stand behind the products. Finally, here is a link to get you started on some great Ford Emblem replacements. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=2011+Ford+Edge+Billet+Emblems&_sacat=33645&_odkw=&_osacat=33645&_dmpt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&Make=Ford Let me know how that works out for ya! Chris
  19. The rear emblem was made so it has four pretty good contact points with the metal or plastic (whatever it is) on the lift gate. The emblem came with four pieces of really heavy duty 3M double sided ready to peel and stick. I just swabbed the area off really good with alcohol and it stuck like superglue. Easy as could be. By the way, I thinK I said it on your post but I'll say it again...I really like your blacked out Ford emblem. Very classy looking. I guess I was shopping for the same stuff around the same time as you. I didn't go with a Ford badge because I just love watching people trying to figure out what kind of car it is. I see heads turning and staring going on all the time. I get a ton of questions at gas stations too! It's kind of fun. There are very few Edge Sports in my area that I know of so people already don't know what it is so removing the badge makes it that much more of a guessing game.
  20. I didn't take any pics of removing the rear emblem but there is seriously nothing to it at all. I used some trim panel removal tools and just worked around the edges from one side to the other and it was a piece of cake. There is a black piece of double sided sticky rubber behind the whole thing. It is not overly grippy where you have to worry about breaking the emblem or anything else while removing it.
  21. My flame overlays were already fading and weathering some so I decided to find something else. I settled on some really nice black billet emblem replacements. I ordered another chrome emblem mount for the front and dropped it off for Tuxedo Black painting last week. I went ahead and threw the front on the chrome backing and took some pics anyway. I will keep the extra chrome piece if I ever want to change it up. Anyway, here are some pictures.
