  1. You state that you "have to have your DRL turned on". There would be no need to activate your headlight or parking light DRLs if you have a DRL system like mine installed.
  2. Thought I would offer a nice alternative to just using the stock drl headlights. I offer a unique LED daytime running light specifically designed for the Ford Edge and incorporates an LED turn signal. Check it out on my website. www.daytimebrightlites.com.
  3. I have used the 3m polishing kit. It worked great on my sons Hyundai Tiburon. If you follow the directions, you will have a great outcome. You will want to apply A headlight lens sealant about every 3 to 6 months to keep the nice clear finish.
  4. Welcome Ken. Sounds like you're a man with a plan with all of the mods you have done and plan to do. Glad to see you working to make yours unique to you. I tried a CAI on my Sport without a tune. Gained a bit of WOT punch, but there were too many negative side effects like hesitation and poor throttle response. I didn't want to mess with a tune, so I swapped back to the OEM. Some day I'll look into it again. Let me know when you start thinking about upgrading any of your lighting. I'd be happy to help.
  5. Sorry I wasn't clear. There isn't a dome light wire in the mirror. I meant run the wires into the inside of the car and connect to the dome light wire there. Not sure which wire it is in the bundled harness running under the door sill. Either track the wire from the dome light down to the door sill or run the new wires all of the way up to the dome light.
  6. Sorry I haven't replied to this thread lately. Finally had a chance to look throught the "New Content". From reading all of the good replies from several of my customers, evrything seems to have been covered ;-). One thing I will add is that my manufacturer is working very hard to reduce the delay and to ship the EDGE-2 DRLs sooner than the week of the 24th. I am doing my part as well and having the first shipment sent to me by air. I can tell you that no one wants to see these DRLs arrive any sooner than I do. I appreciate everyone hanging in there with me. They will be worth it.
  7. That's a pretty accurate metaphor Wiz. . (Think I may even start offering a line of Apple products along side my LED products. Graniteguy. We have been accepting pre-orders for just over two weeks now and continue to do so. The oiginal production run was for 100 sets of EDGE-2s, but those have already been sold. Luckily I was able to add another 100 sets to this proiduction run. I still have lights available on this second shipment. We expect the second shipment of 100 sets to arrive the week of June 17th.
  8. Just do what my kids do. Throw the trash on the floor and kick it under the seats.
  9. I meant to post this earlier, but my $10.00 LED Puddle Light sale has ended. You can still find savings on my EDGE-2 Daytime Running Lights and LED Puddle Lights on my website: www.DAYTIMEBrightLites.com
  10. Very cool! My white sport has the same setup. Company car budget wouldn't handle those two options. Hope it arrives soon .
  11. Thanks Norm for confirming the Candian Edge OEM accent light pipes work the same as the US Edge. So, the stock accent light pipe on all North American Edges, ONLY turn on when the parking or headlights are turned on. The acceent lights do not function automatically or independent of the parking lights or headlights, nor do they turn on with the Edge's DRL system (headlights or amber parking lights)
  12. Hey Norm. Great to hear from you. Been a long time, my friend. I would be grateful for any help you can give to come up with the best method for the headlights DRL trigger wire connection. Would you walk me through what you mean by the stock vertical lights having a day/night setting. Not recalling this type of function. Thanks!
  13. Uh, not sure where you read "headlight bulb" wire. But, you're right. There are only 2 wires going to the headlight bulb itself, but no one mentioned using them for the trigger wire. There is a wire harness that plugs into the back of the headlight housing which has 6 wires. Not sure if there are more on the DRL headlights, but that doesn't matter, the same wire position is used for the true (non DRL) headlight power. Here are a couple of photos I pulled from my EDGE-1 DRL installation instructions.
  14. Feirstein, you make a good observation about the blue in headlights. The human eye is more sensitive to blue than true white or yellow, so the eye is naturally drawn to blue more than the other colors. So if blue white and yellow are added to equal light sources, blue will appear brighter to the eye causing retinas to constrict, eyelids squint and pain/irritation set. Add more blue, get more perceived brightness. Now add in the contrast of bright light against the darkness of night and eye irritation increases even more. This leads me to share that adding a bit blue to the LEDs in daytime running lights is a key component. The primary purpose of a DRL is to draw the attention of other drivers to your car by causing glare (intense appearance of brightness). The light coming from a DRL needs to appear inherently unnatural compared to obects and surfaces reflecting natural sunlight. So guess what? You now have added contrast..... Brightness plus contrast equals unbalance, unusual, out-of-the-ordinary. But more importantly it also equals Attention, Conspicuous, Noticed, "hey I'm here, don't run into me." Ok. I'm done.
  15. These Aliexpress lights are made by my contract manufacurer and are only compatible with the "export only" Ford Edge, which is shipped to pacific rim countries such as China, Singapore, S. Korea, etc. These lights are not compatible and will not function on the Canadian, U.S. and European Ford Edge. My EDGE-2 LED DRLs are the only version available for our Edge. The only components those lights share with mine is the housing and lens. All other componensts are unique to my EDGE-s. Even if these lights did function on our Edge, you would see a significant difference in perfromance. My EDGE-2s use higher quality, better performing and higher cost LEDs. The turn signal LEDs in the export lights use small inefficient white LEDs. This white light must pass through an amber color plastic lens which significantly reduces the light output. My EDGE-2s use an amber LED that is larger, brighter and more efficient shining through a clear plastic light bar. Using an amber LED produces a much more brilliant and visible light. My EDGE-2 also has features the export light does not, such as the headlight dimming feature. The white DRL LEDs automatically dim to 70% of full brightness when the healdights are actictivated. Leaving my DRLs at full brightness along with the headlights, is too bright for oncoming drivers. I experimented with keeping the DRLs at 100% at night and often had oncoming drivers flash their brights at me. Even at 70%, my DRLs are more than twice the brightness of the stock accent lights already on the Edge. I could go on and on, but I'm sure I have already put some of you to sleep. Thanks goes out to all of the positive comments. I can't wait to hear the feedback from all those who have already ordered my EDGE-2s. I'm positive you're going to love them as much as I do. Many thanks, Dan
  16. Hey bluesport. Nice to see a forum member so close to home. Lot's of Sports in JoCo. Would love to show you the final pre-production units I have installed in mine. Go ahead and send me an email and we can arrange a time. info@daytimebrightlites.com. Thanks, Dan
  17. Hey guys. candurin is right on the money. Taking an OEM stock light and grafting in a universal LED DRL was incredibly time consuming, a lot of trial and error (scrapped lights) and a few field failures, is not the most cost effective way to provide an affordable aftermarket car light. Investing in tooling and having a contract manufacturer produce a designed-from-scratch true aftermarket mass produced light is so much more cost effective. I appreciate everyone's well wishes for the success of my company. It means a lot to me and is icing on the cake.
  18. Are you wanting to know the installation of just the puddle lights or to run wiring to the mirror? If you just want to know how to put the puds in, I have an install video on my website: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Puddle_Lights_NL3C.html. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  19. sajid, Non-North American Edge SE's (export only) do have the vertical accent light wiring from the factory. Since you're in Saudi Arabia, I would assume that you have a export Edge SE. I don't think even the export Edge SEs have the mirror pre-wired for puddle lights. I have had a few people from China and the middle east tell me that their SEs do not have the puddle light wires.
  20. As you may have noticed, my friend Cellbine is helping me stay on top of forum posts relating to my LED products. Cellbine was one of the first customers to buy my EDGE-1 LED Vertical Running Lights and LED Puddle Lights and he understands my products very well. Many thanks Cellbine! As Cellbine mentioned above, be assured that I will straighten everything out on the orders that charged freight for past customers. If anyone has specific questions concerning their individual orders, please send me an email instead of posting replies to this thread. This will keep the thread from getting bogged down with posts that most likely won't be useful to other members. Thanks, Dan. Email: info@DAYTIMEBrightLites.com
  21. The SE does not have the wiring. You would have to run new to the dome light circuit.
