May want to check fuse number 92 in the engine compartment fuse box. A blown or loose fuse can cause the warnings. Hope that's all it is

Here's the installation video from my earlier post. I only put the link to it, when I should have embedded it in the reply.

First, let me say thank you for everyone's help in describing the things you came accross during installation. These are incredibly helpful. You are the best and i'm lucky to have such a great resource to help me work through these issues. I know this doesn't help you all, but I have begun 100% bench testing inspections of all of the kits I have in stock. I hook everything up, power it on and test to make sure all functions work perfectly. I discovered 5 kits out of 50 had an issue with the alignment of the DRL pins or a plug that did not have the female electrical contact fully seated inside the plug housing. They have been quarantined and are on there way back to my manufacturer, so he can make the necessary changes to his assembly procedures and to add a new inspection item to his quality control checks. I was able to realign the pins in one of the DRLs to allow the plug to easily connect, but I'm not going to do that on any of the units I find while testing. They will go back to my manufacturer to have that done. I was not totally happy with the length of the passenger side wire either. It took me a little time routing the wire in various positions to find the best path. It would be helpful, but not absolutely necessary, if one of you who couldn't run along the back to send me the measurement of your passenger side DRL wire, so I can see if it is shorter than mine. I will be measuring all of the harnesses I have in inventory to see if there are any short wires. I know this doesn't help you guys, but we are adding an addition 24 inches to the passenger side DRL wire. I would rather have a little extra slack to wire tie up than to have to spend time coming up with a complex wiring strategy. Thanks again for helping me to make my new EDGE-2s a better product for future customers. If anyone feels strongly about wanting me to send them a longer wire, please let me know. I will have my manufacturer make up some sets and I can get them to you. It will take some time to get them, but I would be willing to do it. Please send me an email (not a PM please). info@DAYTIMEBrightLites.com.

HID and/or factory DRL systems will not affect the funtioning of the EDGE-2 DRLs. Just found out my lights will be here tomorrow, they tried to deliver to my house instead of my work, oh well glad to get them so quickly regardless. I have another question though. My Edge has factory HID installed, and being in Canada that means DRL are law here. Therefore my front amber turn signals are my DRL. Will this affect my install to keep the new DRL bumper light working with the courtesy lights? I looked at Dan's website and youtube channel, but there has been no update with install instructions. Thanks for the help thus far. The white LEDs of the DRLs should not come on at all until the engine is started (headlights on or not), so I'm not sure why the driver's side DRL lights up without the engine on. The only time the white LEDs will be on when the engine is off is when you turn off the engine and the headlights are set on auto. The white LEDs will stay on until the headlights timeout and go off. The only time the amber LEDs come on without the engine on is when you unlock the doors. (only a quick flash). Check your wiring connections again to make sure everything is tight. Email me at info@daytimebrightlites.com if you can't correct it and we'll troubleshoot it together. They are a bear. The best way is to insert the small screwdriver and pull upward and back. The upward motion breaks it free initially allowing it to be pulled back with less force. Repeating my earlier warning: DO NOT connect the black trigger wire to any circuit other than the turn signal wire. The amber LEDs are designed to be used in an on/off flashing function. They are not designed to be left on continuously as a parking or position light. The amber LEDs are very powerful and can put off a lot of heat if they were to be left on continuously. Just a heads up for those who are thinking about changing that wiring setup.

Alright guys, Here's part one of my marathon reply. Here's the new EDGE-2 LED DRL installation video. It's also up on the website: If you connected the white DRL trigger wire to the healdlight wire harness, then the DRLs will be at 100% with just the parking lights on, they won't dim until the headlights are switched on. 1. Everything is relative, but I don't consider the wheel well liner to be difficult to peel back. Have done 50 plus times over the past two years. (Maybe I softend mine up over time ;-). 2. The wire insulation is rated for engine compartment use and will withstand the heat. 3. I agree that the snap-on wire connectors are on the cheap side. I know it doesn't help with these first units, but I specified higher quality ones for the next shipment. If you don't get a good cut in the wire insulation from the blades of the snap-on connector, you can use a utility knife to open up the insulation opening a little more to expose the copper conductor. This will solve any irratic behavior of the lights. 4. Do me a favor J, please email me a photo of the plug and back of housing. I haven't seen this happen to anyone else and want to make sure I understand the issue. My guess is like yours. The two metal pin contacts in the back of the DRL may have been a bit out of alignment causing the plug to have trouble seating. 5. Not sure if they made it in your box, but I added 6 more wire ties to the already included 4 that came from the factory. (Again, more wire ties will come in the next shipment of DRLs) Glad you like the new lights and for the kind words about them. It has been and continues to be a learning process for these new lights. Your feedback will definately help to make the product better. Due to liability issues, I cannot endorse deviating from the wiring instructions I supplied with the lights. Sorry. One very important note on wiring. DO NOT connect the black trigger wire to any circuit other than the turn signal wire. The amber LEDs are designed to be used in an on/off flashing function. They are not designed to be left on continuously as a parking or position light. The amber LEDs are very powerful and can put off a lot of heat if they were to be left on continuously. Just a heads up for those who are thinking about changing that wiring setup.

admittedly, I never even noticed the LH / RH markings on the back of the housing, just the date code embossing. As others mentioned, it really doesn't matter, since each individual EDGE-2 DRL can only fit into the bumper opening it is made for. I will see about having the die changed to reflect the correct position for the next production run.

Couldn't resist posting one of the pics you just uploaded to your gallery. Lookin' good my friend. Glad the install went smoothly and you all are happy with your new lights. I can finally stop holding my breath. I new that I liked the new EDGE-2s personally, but I needed some independent customer confirmation, which I have been getting non stop since yesterday

The pdf file I attached to my last reply post shows you exactly where the fuse box is located in the engine compartment. Just want to clarify something. You followed all of the other wiring instructions and the only change you made was to tap the headlight (white) trigger wire into the parking light wire, correct? And this allowed the DRL LEDs to turn on and off without the key turned on, with the same lighting sequence as the stock accent lights? I'm trying to figure out how that could work, since the DRLs are powered through my wire harness relay that uses an ignition circuit to turn on and off. If the relay does not see current from the ignition circuit in the fuse box, the relay will not send power to the DRLs and the LEDs would not be able to come on as you described. Which fuse slot number did you use to connect the ignition wire to? I am very interested in figuring this one out. In any event, your courtesy light solution should be perfectly fine. Even at 70% of full brightness, my EDGE-2s are many times brighter than the stock accent light pipe, wouldn't you agree. I am going to be archiving that older video on mmy site. It was meant only to give prospective customers an idea of what is generally involved in the install. I am editing a new install video today and hope to have it up on the website this evening or first thing in the morning.

A quick heads up for those who have alrady received their new EDGE-2 DRLs. There is an error on the installation instructions concerning the connection of the black and white trigger wires coming from the back of the DRLs. The written instructions are correct, but I reversed them in wire diagram drawing. BLACK wire connects to the turn signal wire and WHITE wire connects to the headlight wire. I am sending emails out to everyone with the new instructions. I have also attached them to this post. EDGE-2 Install Instructions.pdf

$215.00 per set (includes wire harness and all hardware needed to install). Here is the photo I referenced with the red blob lights. Stay tuned :-). Also notice the Ford Focus DRLs at the top right. I now have these in stock. Hope to have info posted soon on the website about these as well. Two styles: Chrome and carbon fiber. Carbon fiber one looks awesome. Let me know if anyone with a focus is interested in them.

GREAT NEWS and very pleasant surprise, the shipment came in with enough lights to fill all of my current orders, so everyone who had placed orders prior to July 1st, you're order is on the way. Tracking numbers have likely been sent out to everyone, though the USPS system can be slow getting them out. If you haven't received your # yet, don't worry, every order has shipped and the tracking number should get to you by the end of the day today. I did run into a snag on some orders that included LED Puddle Lights and LED Domes. I ran Ford out of stock on the OEM puds and I had to backorder them on a couple of your orders. Don't worry, I am splitting the shipments and the EDGE-2s will arrive as planned. I will be shipping the LED puds and domes by the middle of next week. Many more past customers than I had expected are either running late on the core returns or have chosen to keep them, which left me short. I will be notifying those who will only be receiving the EDGE-2s for now. Hope to have theat done later today. I have been overwhelmed with the great patience and understanding from everyone. You guys & gals are the best and couldn't imagine what my stress level would have been if you weren't. (Probably would have had to go on high blood pressure meds, if you weren't). I'm expecting a shipment with EDGE-2s to keep in stock later in the week and will be making the official product launch thread once I have them in my hands. Stay tuned on the fuzzy red blob product shown in my earlier photo. You think the EDGE-2 LED DRLs are cool.....just wait until you see these! Totally blew my mind how good these lights look and work. NO questions, please. Not going to say another word about them until I have stock in my posession. (Don't want to put everyone through what I did on the DRLs).

I'm a little biased, but you can add more safety and style by adding LEDs to your new Edge. Super bright LED daytime running lights for on road safety and LED Puddle Lights and license plate LEDs for a much brighter approach to the vehicle at night and interior LEDs to be able to see into all of the little nooks and crannies that normally you couldn't see. I think that, for the money and ease of installation, you can't buy a better product which adds as much safety and style. HID headlights are also an easy and affordable add on as well.

Chuckled out loud on that one. I was lucky to have enough time to actually put them in that day. Fastest install yet! Only took me 14 minutes! That included installing the new wire harness as well. I think this is the 22nd set of my DRLs that I have installed on my EDGE (including my first gen DRLs). Practice makes perfect. I will have very detailed written instructions included in the box and a new step by step install video on my website before orders start arriving at customers.

Hey JW. I did get your order for the EDGE-2s. Sorry for the delay in replying. Things have been crazy around here. I'm trying to get the email message below out to everyone about the status of order shipments. Email: The EDGE-2 shipment arrived at Chicago O'Hare airport last night. My shipping logistics company tells me that US Customs should clear it on Monday, but could be Tuesday. The lights will then be trucked to me in Kansas City by the middle of the week. As soon as the shipment arrives, orders will be filled and your tracking number will be emailed to you for your specific order shipment. Delivery will take 2-3 days for US addresses and 6-10 days for non-US addresses. I have attached two photos, one of the cartons contained in the shipment that arrived tonight and the other of the actual production unit that was next-day air shipped to me earlier this week. Note the actual production version of the clear LED light bar covering the amber turn signal LEDs. It looks great and the amber LEDs perform even better than I anticipated. Thanks again for your patience. The finish line is finally within sight.

Edged Up, I'd be happy to make you a paper template to outline the opening. You could sharpen your cutting skills by practicing a couple of holes in a piece of scrap plastic. Once you figure out how to make a nice clean hole, then you can move to the actual mirror. Just a thought.

Ohhhh, I remember the endless meals of ramen noodles back in my college days. I budgeted less than $10.00 a day for food, but wound up only spending a buck. The rest went to the purchase of certain adult beverages. (Barley and hops are considered vegetables, aren't they?) Nice mod Cell! Love seeing this kind of stuff. Perfect photo with the mountains in the background. None of those here in Kansas! Edit: Are you getting a volume discount from Plasti-Dip? If not, you should. That's great stuff!

Congrats on the new Edge being in. IMHO, I think extended warranties are a very poor investment. I don't buy them on any product, including vehicles. I have had a couple of times that an extended warranty would have been useful, but the cost of these repairs was a small fraction of the cost of all of the extended warranties I would have purchased. Again, just my humble opinion.

Having the holes is great news. Now all you have to do is run two wires from the mirror into the inside of the car and connect to the dome light circuit.

I would have been so jealous. OK JOEHIO, no more hijacking of galcala's thread. Sorry galcala. Let us know how the lens refurb goes. -
No sweat shoulin. Now if we can only figure out how to disable the headlight DRLs all together on the Edge's that come with en on from the factory, then we'll be in great shape.

Just wanted to second autom8r's recommendation to include the properly sized in line fuse as well as akirby's note to tap a circuit that is rated for your load. Better safe than sorry. Good luck with the project.

Oh memories....... My first car was a '77 Olds Cutlass Supreme. My parents bought it for me in' 82. It was one of a very few that were made with a V6 instead of the standard V8. I was so excited when my dad drove up with it. That lasted until the first time I gave it some gas :-(. Guess GM thought sticking a tiny engine into an already overweight full size car would save gas, but I bet I would have had better gas mileage with the V8 than constantly having to floor it with the V6. Talk about a dog! It took me almost 20 Seconds to get to 60. Ugh.
