Welcome to the forum and the Edge family. Enjoy.

If the dealer / warranty won't cover the repair/replacement, take it to a wheel repair service. They specialize in this kind of work and may be able to fix it. I took my son's car to one when he scraped a curb with his custom black painted rims. The gouges went all of the way around (guess he never thought to turn the steering wheel or to hit the brakes). They were able to take out and buff smooth the aluminum then touched up the paint. If you look at the rim up very close and you knew what to look for, you can see some signs of the repair, but just barely. Heck of a lot less expensive than $400. to replace it.

Congrats on your new Edge. It looks great. Enjoy!

I have thought about doing it and not ruling it out, but it will take a lot of development time both manufacturing-wise as well as searching and sourcing the LED components. I don't want to just slap in some halos and flex LEDs. I want it to be clean and look OEM. That means DRLs in reflectors, not bare LEDs. I have been in discussions with a few domestic and offshore automotive lighting manufacturers about non-Edge light assemblies, Once I have contract(s) in place and the first designs in process, I will see if this is a direction we want to go in. If I giver it the go ahead, it will not be a quick turnaround. To design, prototype, gain agency approvals, cut tooling, sample approval and finally production, we're talking at the earliest April, before I would be shipping lights. Let me think about the conversion option for a little while to see if I can really make it work economically. Any Ford dealers or employees that can help me get a hold of a single or pair of headlight assemblies at a good price, I would appreciate a PM. Even a salvaged light would do. Lens can be cracked, just need the reflector and housing to be intact. Give me an idea of what you all would be willing to spend for a quality true OEM looking light. I can tell you right now that it will well north of the $280 ebay lights (2010 & earlier Edge). As I do with my Vertical LED Running Lights, there would be a core deposit charged at checkout and fully refunded when you send me back your OEM lights. If you don't see a post from me on this in a week, do me a favor and bump this thread or shoot me a PM to remind me. Thanks.

Both sides would turn on, but would instanty begin flashing on and off. The flashing sequence that of a police car's headlighhts when they alternate back and forth. Maybe I should throw some red and blue film over the headlights and screw with my kids when they're on their way to school in thje morning. That will wake 'em up I bet

I'm pretty certain it is not caused by a bad ballast, since I'm having the same problem with my DDM 35W system with wire harness. Both headlights flash in auto on. I bought a second set s Christmas gift for my son and tried that one on my Edge and the flashing issue continues with them as we'll. I seldom use the auto on! Since I like running my vertical LED running lights alone at dusk and dawn without the headlights on. The auto on must put out some kind of funky voltage levels initially sent to the ballasts that the circuitry in the ballasts can't handle. The ballast circuitry may be seeing this funky voltage levels as a threat and trips the protection circuitry shutting the ballasts of and when the voltage returns to an acceptable level, the ballasts power up again. As i discovered when developing my vertical LED running lights, the voltage in the Edge fluctuates up and down at a much wider range than other vehicles. Philips Automotive Lighting actually had to develop a new version of the controller for my lights in order to handle the irratic low and high voltage levels in the Edge. My LED running lights were turning on and off due to voltages dropping below the voltage threshold causing the DRLs to turn off (thinking the engine was turned off), then when the voltage surged back above the "On" voltage threshold the DRLs would power back on. It was very strange and unique to the Edge. It was finally corrected when Philips added a fourth wire that connects to an ignition circuit in the engine compartment fuse box. This fourth wire now triggers the DRLs to turn on and off by sensing the presence of voltage, not the voltage levels. Maybe there is a way to incorporate this triggering method to solve the problem. Any comments from anyone on this possible solution?

HIDS Help - DDM Tuning.
kc300c replied to RobbN's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I installed my wire harness today and I think I was wrong about the orientation of the tabs in my video. I'm pretty certain the small tab is at the top or 12:00. If the small tab is always located at the top when the bulb is inserted, the return wire will always be be in the correct position and will never throw a shadow. To eliminate all of the struggles people seem to have with getting all three tabs in, the problem does not have to do with the thickness or width of the tabs. The problem has to do with the height of the small tab and not clearing the top of the slot. If you insert the two large tabs and slide the entire bulb downwards, the small tab will then clear the slot. Push the small tab in and the bulb should be firmly seated. Rotate the bulb until it locks in (1/4 turn). Here is a new diagram. -
07lincolnMKX, is the Prozen you ordered coming with the K&N filter or just the standard? I dint opt for the K&N filter. I don't quite recall, but the K&N filter was either a $25 or $50 adder. That may be why there is a $25 price difference between direct and ebay.

Racer, do you have the 3.7L or 3.5L. Are you using a tune? If so, which tune? If not, does the K&N cause any adverse effects, like I had with my Prozen? Poor throttle response, hesitation during initial acceleration, etc? I hate not having a CAI

Hey Mike, Welcome to the Edge family. The wait was worth it for you, I'm sure. I know you had been tracking the delivery progress. Io stopped doing that 2 cars ago. It got me so frustrated checking on it every day or two only to see that iot was still sitting some rail yard an hout drive away. So close, but yet so far. I can't wait for you to get and install my LED lights on youir new ride. You're going to love them.

Hi Muser99, Since my company is the only one making Ford / Lincoln LED Puddle Lights, I will assume you're referring to the pricing of our LED puds. Which is a perfectly fair statement. I can understand how some may believe the lights to be a bit expensive, especially if you are not familiar with what all is involved in converting them to LEDs. I'll be completely honest with you, if a company was making and selling plug and play LED puds like mine back when I first wanted a set in my Edge, I wouldn't have bought them and converted the puds myself. But I'm a die hard do-it-yourselfer, which I define as a person who has enough money to replace anything they might screw up and who possesses the 3T's: Time, Tools & Talent. I am marketing my LED lighting products to those folks who are missing one or more of these traits, but who still really want these cool lights for their Ford. Kudos to you if you want to try it yourself. Feel free to shoot me a PM, if you run into a problem. I'll try to help you out.

Since the SE does not come with the wire harness and plug to power the vertical parking lights (you call fog lights), you would have to cut and splice into a circuit in your Edge. Not sure which ones to power off of. I offer a plug and play vertical LED running light that looks exactly like the stock Ford light except that instead of having the wimpy LED light that comes with the stock lamp, mine is a super bright 8 LED daytime running light. My company is DAYTIME BrightLites and you can visit my website by clicking on my banner add below.

Very kind words Calibre. Thanks. It doesn't matter if it's business or in your personal life, you treat people the way you want to be treated. Good info on the factory DRLs.

Sweet ride and great pics. Edgie is right, platinum white metallic is the fastest color :-). I think it's all that platinum they put in the paint.

Welcome to the family. Enjoy your new Edge.

I love my Sport puddleman and certain you will too. Welcome.

Welcome aboard sweetlazydays and congrats on the new Edge. I'm in Kansas City now but lived in Chesterfield and Wildwood for years. Looks like you are not taking any time to wait to install some mods. Have fun with it. By the way...Go CARDS!

Sounds like it's time to head to the dealer. Let us know what they found causing the problem.

Here's a link to a police officer forum that talks about the legality of retrofit HIDs. From what they say, there's a federal regulation that states all aftermarket HIDs are illegal. Only HIDs that came with the car from the factory are considered legal. Hmmmmm? http://forums.officer.com/t118822/

Prinz, aren't you leaving out an LED lamp on your list? How about my LED Puddle Lights you purchased from me? :-). Here's the link to my website that you could add to the list in your original post. (totally up to you though). Side Mirror LED Puddle Lights (Plug & Play): http://www.daytimebr...ights_NL3C.html You could also include my Vertical LED Running Lights to the list as well: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Daytime_running_lights.html
