  1. I'm going to have to send my RH ballast back to DDM then. Still can't get it to fire with the auto-on setting.
  2. Hey guys, you really don't need to be concerned about installing the HIDs. They are about the easiest accessory to install on a car. They are strictly a plug and play system with no wire cutting of any kind. Here is a video I made of my install that should put your minds at ease. I used a DDM Tuning kit, that works fine for me, especially at a price of $35.00 for the whole kit. I also bought the wire harness / relay to keep the HIDs from developing any flickering. The only issue I have with them is that I cannot use my auto-on headlight feature because when I start the car in this mode, my right headlight does not come on. Still scratching my head about that. These lower cost kits can sometimes do that on the Edge. Must be something in the Edge circuitry that throws the HID ballast off.
  3. Welcome Sparkles. The lack of HIDs baffles me about as much as why Ford didn't make the front bumper vertical lights more powerful so they could be seen in the daytime. You mentioned possibly doing some Led upgrades. Let Me know if any of my LED products, unique to the Ford Edge, interest you.
  4. akirby, Great idea about using a timer component in my controller to manage the the DRL LEDs. Thanks! This would allow for a much easier install for the end user. All they would have to do is tap my trigger wire into the turn signal wire leading to the parking light bulb. I'll get with my electronic CM to see what is available to accomplish this.
  5. Calling all Edge 12V electrical gurus. I need some help finding a circuit on the Edge to use to control one of the features I want to incorporate into my new Vertical LED Daytime Running Lights. I need a circuit to trigger my controller unit to turn off the main DRL LEDs when my amber turn signal light guide is activated. I want the DRL LEDs to remain off during the entire turn signal cycle. I know that I can tie into the actual turn signal wire leading to the parking light bulb, but all that will do is turn the DRL LEDs off when the parking light bulb flashes on. I don't want the white and amber LEDs to alternate back and forth, because the glare from the white LEDs will diminish the impact of the amber LEDs. When the turn signal stalk is activated, there has to be a circuit that stays energized until the turn signal is deactivated, right? I want to tap my controller trigger wire into this continuously energized circuit so the DRL LEDs are switched off until the turn signal circuit is de-energized. Here are the Edge fuse box diagrams & charts as well as the lighting sequence layout I want to use on my lights. Any and all input will be appreciated!
  6. I'll send along a set of the license plate LEDs when/if you order my LED Dome Light. No problemo. My bad, got it backwards, black is the absence of color light.
  7. Great idea Cellbine. What do you think of this banner idea? :hysterical2:
  8. Hey Johnny, Welcome aboard. I'm sure you'll find ways to "tune" your new Edge as you likely did with your last car ("import tuner"). Probably won't have as many off-the-shelf aftermarket products to choose from, but as my company is working to do, more and more new products should keep popping up.
  9. If they don't then you're only out $15.00. I'll knock off $5.00 on my LED Dome Light if you're not happy with the Chinese LEDs. Do you know what color LEDs you're getting? Most "white" LED replacement bulbs have a color between 6000K and 7000K, which has a bit of a blue tint or "coolness" to them. My LEDs are between 5000K and 5500K which is more of a true white color (if you can call white a color ;-).
  10. I'm looking forward to hearing more on this. I have dozens of my Vertical LED Running Lights in Canada and customers have asked if the DRL functions can be re-configured to lights other than the headlights. I'm pretty certain the DRL function cannot be disabled completely though.
  11. Take a look at the LED dome light on my website. Does it look like yours? I know the map and cargo lights are the same.
  12. I know this is more of a DIY thread, but for those who may not want to spend the time or don't have the comfort level to tackle some of the heavier LED mods, I do offer plug and play LED lighting solutions for the Edge. Just click on my banner below to head to my website.
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Edgieguy, not clear on what you mean by "being empty space at the bottom....." Can you elaborate?

This is a sneak peek at the new production version of my Vertical LED Daytime Running Light. The official launch of this product will hopefully take place towards the end of January or early February. The light is currently going through DOT testing to meet both US and Canadian regulations. We are also completing the wiring and control design. I will be uploading more pre-launch photos in the next few days. Dan Smith DAYTIME BrightLites, LLC www.DAYTIMEBrightLites.com

  15. Here's a sneak peek at the production model of my new Vertical LED Daytime Running Light (DRL). I'll add a few more as I get the time. Not ready for the official launch yet, but wanted to get some initial feedback on what you all think of the light. I'm not going to have much time to answer any questions right now, but will when the launch takes place.
  16. It took a lot of time messing with the settings on my camera before I was able to get my lights to look true to life at night. With your description of the color, people can use their imagination.
  17. No problem. I just don't understand why they dont hhave a web based trcking system for customers to use. It sure would save a lot of time and money. On Ford's part.

    Who are you?

Except when there's no a plate at all (don't have front tags in Kansas :-)
  19. Follow this link to my Google search on this. Lots of people asking the same question with a lot of good answers. However most of the answers require you to call the Ford FLEET phone number and pretend being someone from the dealership. Do you have an order number along with your VIN? It looks like you will need that as well. In short, there doesn't look like there is an internet based tracking system that you can use. You have to call a phone number. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ford+new+vehicle+delivery+tracking

    Who are you?

Celbine, After I realized the Edge wasn't black, but your color I quickly buzzed over to my customer photos and reviews web page to check the video you took of your Edge, but as you said, the tag numbers didn't match. Would have been a "small world" moment and a cool coincidence. http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Customer_Reviews.html
