  1. (DISREGARD this reply. I totally misunderstood Dapgovols question. See my post two replies down.) You really only have two options. Option one (my favorite, hee hee ;-) is to get a set of my plug and play LED Puddle Lights and Option two is to cut open your own stock lights and install an LED. There isn't any "wiring kits" or "lights" specifically made for converting puddle lights. (Shameless plug time: we - DAYTIME BrightLites - are running a sale on our LED Puddle Lights. Head over to the Sales/Promotions page of our website for info and pricing on these and other LED products for your Edge.)
  2. It is a very easy job. The part that takes the most time, but not complicated, is inserting the bulb into the headlight socket. It takes some fiddling to finally get the tabs lined up just right to get it to seat completely. I made a video of my HID install. You can find it on my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/kc300c/videos?view=0. Scroll down to the video "HID Retrofit Kit Step-By-Step Installation Video"
  3. Congrats on the new family, first. Bet you have your hands full with the little one. Thanks for the photos. I love the red Sports. Very distinctive. Best of luck, my friend.
  4. Phill, my thought was the same as your first statement about most cars having mods/accessories available or them. However, I have never had a vehicle with so few as there are for the Edge. That's the very reason I began my manufacturing business making specialty LED lighting for the Edge. I couldn't find a bright LED Puddle Light or LED Daytime Running Light to replace the weak stock Edge lights. I really wanted something that performed better, so I made my own using ideas I found in forums. I only meant to make a single set for myself, but when I posted photos of my lights, I started getting tons of requests from people asking if I could make them a set. A business was born :-).
  5. Hi Phil & Scott, to order, shoot me an email at info@daytimebrightlites.com and I'll send you a PayPal invoice. Scott, setting up a PayPal account is quick and easy. You can just tie it to your credit card and it will take the money straight off of it. There are no fees for you to pay. I cover those. You won't see any mention of them on your end. Thanks for the interest guys. You will really like the way my LED lights look and perform in your Edge. And if you don't, you get all of your money back (including shipping) and I pay for you to send them back. We're proud of the fact that we have never had anyone use this. (it makes it really easy for us to offer this guarantee :-). Dan Smith

  7. I love threads like this. You made a very creative fix. It's very cool to see people make these kind of changes so there cars function exactly the way they want.
  8. Have you looked into using vinyl overlay (wrap) to cover the existing trim? Here's a thread about wrapping trim pieces with a carbon fiber looking wrap. 3M sells tons of colors and designs. It should be a lot less expensive and you can get the exact look you want. Hope this helps. Vinyl Wrapped Trim Link
  9. Thanks for reminding me about the case of beer Mike. I just found it on the shelf in my garage where I left it. My wife put a big pack of paper towels in front of it. She must be hiding to give to the pool boy ;-).
  10. Might be time to throw in a small block with a carburetor and a distributor. The only thing that comes close to working like an ECU on that engine is the distributor ;-)
  11. tazmanken, I'm sorry for the problems you are having getting a response from me. Not sure why I wouldn't have replied right away. If you tried emailing me last week, I was on vacation, but did reply to all of the emails I received during that period. If you sent an email prior to the 15th, then I am scratching my head, beacuse I have answered everything in my inbox. I do receive bounce-back notices from time to time when my emails are being blocked by the receivers spam filters. Maybe that is what happened. Can you try sending it again to info@daytimebrightlites.com? Post a reply on this thread when you have sent it so I can make sure I have received it. Sorry again if this was caused from my end. Dan
  12. If there will be enough rotor thickness after turning, I wold just have them turned to remove the rust, pits and warp. The rotors will warp again sooner than if they were new, but no sense in wasting still good rotors, in my opinion.
  13. Seriously though. I am also having problems with the mobile forum version with my Android Samsung Galaxy S III. as I type out a reply and move the cursor back into another area of text to make a correction, after I type my first letter, the cursor automatically jumps back to the first word on its own. When I pull the cursor back to the word I was originally correct and type the next letter it again jumps back to the first word in the post. If I have ready typed n other of text and still have a lot more to enter, I have to copy the text I've already typed, paste it to a word doc, finish the rest of the post then copy and past the entire post back into the reply . Very inconvenient. Please help.
  14. I rilly ned the spell chicker to work om mean alZo. Im usinn Google krome .
  15. No need for a a wire harness or relays for my new lights. They won't flicker. The only flickering light would be coming from the hot coals that used to be your Edge.
  16. Here is a new light am developing that can be body color matched. This one is going on a red Edge.
  17. Love the photos Manish. Sorry to hear about the problems with the HID you got from DDM. Not sure why they won't fit in your Edge though. Might be a bad set of bulbs (poorly molded plastic tabs). The seems that the DDMs always take a bit more time to get lined up in the socket than some other brands. The first bulb on the first set of DDMs I put in took me about 15 minutes to finally get it in. (a lot of skinned up knuckles too). I got lucky on the second bulb and it slipped right in. (While I have you, I wanted to see if you had any questions about my LED Puddle Lights and interior LED pack that I gave you pricing on. Would love to get you setup with them.)
  18. I love seeing folks thinking outside the box and trying different ways to do mods. Glad it worked out for you. Looks like you put a lot of thought and time into it. In case some who read this thread aren't up to doing this mod themselves. Check out our totally plug & play LED Puddle Lights. We use an LED panel array with eight 5050 SMDs in our LED Puddle Lights totaling 2.5 watts. Light output is probably 3x that of the stock puddle light. www.DAYTIMEBrightLites.com
  19. Amen Dingo. Only need one interior shot. Bring back the white Edge:-)
  20. If your vehicles are still under warranty and you have any hints that the roof is not functioning as well as the day you bought the car, I suggest you take it in to a Ford dealer to have it checked out. This will make a record of your visit concerning the roof. If your roof fails after the warranty expires (reasonable amount of time: < 6 months or < 10,000 miles), you have a good chance of having it repaired under warranty. GM did this for me when the rear dif went out on my Suburban. At 32,000 miles, I took it into the dealer for a strange smell in the passenger compartment (smelled like propane). They couldn't figure out where it was coming from and the truck worked fine making no strange noises. At 43,000 miles, the rear dif went out while going over the continental divide in Colorado. The dealer in Gunnison, CO opened up the rear dif cover and the propane smell almost knocked us all out. GM customer service called my local dealer to confirm the 32,000 mile service call about the propane smell and covered the $3,800 repair as well as the 5 day rental car. Get a service call on the record with your dealer before the warranty expires and you'll have some ammo should it fail after the warranty expires.
  21. I love "Blazing Saddles" references in posts!
  22. Guys, you all keep showing my hand before I place my bet!!!!! First, I had to prematurely acknowledge the existence of my new vertical switchback DRL and now you are coaxing me into telling you that I have an LED taillight in the works. Like the new vertical switchback DRL, it is not a retrofit but a true aftermarket product that is being tooled and manufactured from scratch. We have a working prototype and is being tested on an Edge as we speak. I don't want to post photos yet and I wouldn't do it on this thread any way. I know this is a public forum and you can reply with questions if you like, but I would appreciate it if we keep my new tails hush-hush for now. I am hoping to have the lights finished and ready to ship in April and will start playing them up as the launch date approaches. Now, back to the thread topic. We are so close to being able to make the official launch. We are still finishing up the wire harnesses and tweaking the amber LEDs. I have been driving around with a set of beta production lights and I am loving them. I'll see if I can get some photos posted here in the next few days. Stay tuned.
  23. Unfortunately I don't have any pics or vids of the 5K. I bet that you will like the 5Ks. I would be happy staying with the 5Ks, but since the 4300K replacement bulbs are less than $20.00, I figured I would go ahead and swap them out.
