  1. NSAP. PM me with a dealer name (and code too if you have it) and your body type and order number. These are located on your priced DORA which your dealer should have given you a copy of. I can't make any promises, but I can at least "look into it" for you.
  2. The spelling is directly related to the number of registered POIs. From what I know it's that Navteq's revenue is generated through signing up companies to list in their system. I agree it can be frustrating at times that some of your favorite businesses aren't listed. For example, I once tried to map out a nearby Target store and it only listed one in the state, hours away, when I knew there were at least two in the metro area. I had a feeling it wasn't the Target I'm looking for either. The geographic region has something to do with it too. When I travel through Kentucky, I've noticed that the "QUICK POI" has a hard time finding gas stations when there are plenty of independent stations along I75.
  3. Do you have a dealer name, body type and order number? Or even better, do you have a full 17 digit VIN? If you have a VIN then it's been serialized for production. If you don't have a VIN, then most likely the order hasn't been serialized yet and that means the soonest it can be produced is in February.
  4. How ironic, I just gave an impromptu lesson on the nav system to some dealer employees in an Edge this week. Breadcrumbing is available. Voice commands are standard. Yes, the double ding comes on in advance and the system will say "Turn right in .6 miles" Ding ding, "turn right in .2 miles." Ding ding "Turn right onto Main Street." Ding ding. "Proceed 8.2 miles." I didn't know Pioneer makes the system, but it makes sense they do make the CD6 unit. I know Navteq is the software provider. Their directions are pretty good, I've only found a few errors, but mainly it was with roads that undergone some recent construction and have been rerouted or moved completely, etc. I love it. Not sure about coordinates, but you can do freeway intersections, yellow page phone numbers, there's an emergency buttont that'll get show you a hospital or police station, good for if you get into a road rage situation. A quickroute to the "station" will get the raging asshole of you quickly!
  5. You may want to call your dealer and ask what's the scoop. VIN: 2FMDK48C37BA57671 Receipt Date: 10/5/2006 Serialize Date: 11/30/2006 Segment Date: 11/30/2006 Sequence Date: 12/12/2006 Blend Date: 12/15/2006 Produced Date: Gate Release Date: 1/3/2007 Ship Date: 1/4/2007 Arrival Date: 1/9/2007 Sold Date:
  6. Brian, I can say that you're not getting info from your ZM because there isn't alot of info available. Requests for traces are not being honored by POINT. The retrofits are a five hour process from what the higher ups have told us. The priority is to first get retails handled, then fleet orders, then third dealer stock orders. Due to the thousands and thousands of units being put in storage at different locations, this isn't exactly a quick and easy process. My number one dealer, who got allocated a number of them has only gotten their first unit in (sold within two hours) much like most of my dealers. My first dealer to sell an Edge was my smallest guy. And no, units weren't commandeered. But FoMoCo, like any vehicle launch, does put many into service for various company use.
  7. No rebates or cash incentives on the Edge whatsoever. There are financing options, but that's it. But low rates and a higher residual than is typically on a Ford equals great value. Congrats on the new ride, thank you so much for your patience and purchase, enjoy the Edge sir!
  8. I know it seems like something a backgate would make it things smoother. But please accept my sincerelest apologies for your extended wait. You're not alone. Unfortunately with the launch being held back, thousands, and thousands of built units got held up, while units built in mid-December on were immediately put on trucks and rails and sent to the lots. Unfortunately due to the high volume of units stored away, and the time it took to retrofit everyone (five hours per vehicle, not including fetch time) there are no traces allowed. Sold retail orders have the number one priority followed by stock orders. I've been dealing with this situation with my dealers. My bigger dealers had the first orders in quantity, and who sells my first one? My smallest dealer, whom at less than 200 sales a year should really be select store. As for my Lincoln Mercury dealers, my top dealers units, stock and retails are held up, my smallest LM dealer sells not one, but TWO in December. It greats to report the first sales on these things, it's not great to step into the dealerships of my big volume guys, get chewed out by them, and even a customer in one case, and then proceed to sit down and do a wholesale for future production. All in all, I hope the vehicle lives up to and exceeds your expectations and gives you many many miles of automotive joy. I really think here in the US we should have been playing that Canadian ad with the "Patience, patience..." Good things come to those that wait.
  9. This is info from an internal system. The dealers have a different status reporting system called COMBAT. They may only get their updates on Wednesday if they don't get them daily.
  10. Out of pity for the Wolverines, here ya go :-p Receipt Date: 7/13/2006 Serialize Date: 8/31/2006 Segment Date: 10/10/2006 Sequence Date: 11/21/2006 Blend Date: 11/30/2006 Produced Date: 12/23/2006 Gate Release Date: Ship Date: 12/27/2006 Arrival Date: Sold Date: Ah, sonavabitch, there's not gate release date, your dealer might to give their rep a call to make sure that it gets reported sold (warranty started, etc) however it looks like it's on its way.
  11. I can't help but say, this is "so target customer." You could put this in a brochure shot. Any kids not pictured or not at that life stage yet? Congrats on the new Edge!
  12. Tax Help911.com over on Fort St. They have a few varying offices, one of which was Ford & Ford Accounting. I can't recall what the building said at front, it's been years.
  13. I worked in Wyandotte one semester when I was a student at MICHIGAN STATE I was driving in my Fuse yesterday along I-94 to Dearborn and I saw at least 10 truckloads of Edges headed west. They are movin' on out! Get the word out! :stats:

  15. You're fine, you can see and access the filter very easily. That's the lower side of the front of the vehicle.
  16. Some daytime ones for your viewing enjoyment: Merging onto the freeway through one of those loopy onramps. Gotta love how they give two feet of straightaway to get up to speed, no problem for the Edge however. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4D2ZhnGa_w Topping out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2NHBKkKkiU
  17. What do you think of the engine? Aggressive near WOT take off from a light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grrWZoyLfIs Highway passing test http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwJaPj05JHk
  18. I switched into another company unit today. The braking did feel much different. And one of my dealers pointed out that it didn't have the egggrate on the bottom of the front fascia. Apparently, this pre-production model hasn't been retrofitted yet because it did feel different than the one I had last week.
  19. They did more than "switch" some people around. Mark Fields has told the sales organization that personal accountability will be paramount in this company going forward. Deliver or else.
  20. Jay, I've been touring my dealers with a regional marketing unit, they pretty much echo what you say. They are blown away. I was after a few minutes into my first drive. I mean even the feel of the seats and materials to the quiteness of the map light and sunglass holder. I point everything out that I can to dealers, and even they are finding great little things that are done right. With more vehicles like this, our collective future is going to be better!
  21. Exactly, we are getting away from "Ship It Now, Fix It Later" that has screwed up other launches. Everyone at Ford understands how important it is to get this right and other vehicle launches. It's better to hold off rather than get BLASTED by the media and everyone when we fix it after launch. The Fusion last year got delayed a few weeks as well and look at the payoff, it beat Camry in Consumer Reports. As for vehicles that got shipped and sent to storage, they'll be retrofitted before being released again. They are working everyday except Christmas to accomplish this. Retail orders are given first priority, however a certain vehicle can be deep in a lot. It's expected to have everything cleaned up and shipped by Feb so units built in the past week, this month and in January will probably arrive before previously built units. If you have a retail order, it might be a good idea to put in a duplicate order ASAP and have it built in January.
  22. Freestars death was a given once it was announced that the Edge/MKX were going to OAC and not SLAP.
  23. It wouldn't hurt. It's not they can't sell it if one of yours gets in beforehand. The only problem is just that we've been told there are not going to be any traces and there's no way to know just where a particular retail order can be. You can have the dealer call their Ford rep and see if maybe they can somehow find a way to see where yours is at.
  24. Units that were built and shipped out would have been placed in storage. As the built units start getting retrofitted it could take some time to locate your specific units. Retail orders do have number one priority on getting those done. But given the amount of them that made it out and the amount just parked, it could take some time to get everything sorted out. The goal is to have all the units built to dealers by February. Staff will be working on clearing out the lots everyday except Christmas. Unfortunately due to the number of units in limbo right now, traces won't be done on them.
  25. Didn't crawl under to see where the drainplug is. But did see the oil filter. Should be fairly easy to maintain I think. The transmission is not sealed, you will have a dipstick to check on it. However, I will check to see what the DIYer experience will be like next week when I'm back to work. Unfortunately I couldn't keep the Edge over the weekend.
