So my 08 Limited has been experiencing random fan speed or no fan at all and sometimes just works. Would replacing this, 5 19E624 Blower motor speed control (dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control [EATC] vehicles) possibly fix the problem? I don't want to replace it if that's not the problem. Thanks, John

Creaking noise coming from drivers side b-pillar
jlong replied to jlong's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I'll give that a try. Thanks! -
I have a 2008 ford edge and there is a creaking noise coming from either the doors or the b-pillar on the drivers side when you go over speed bumps or drive on an angle such as pulling in or out of an elevated drive way or ramp. So when the body twists or flexes there is a creaking noise coming from the b-pillar area. I don't think it's an easy answer such as a trim piece rubbing because the trim feels pretty solid and when I push on it the trim doesn't move or make a noise. Any Ideas? I may take the trim off and drive around to see if I can pinpoint the source. Thanks! John

need help deciding what to do with wheels!! photoshop please!
jlong replied to daviszx3's topic in Wheels & Tires
You can plasti dip them. Look around the forum and you can get more info on it. It's not permanent so you can undo it if you don't like it and it will give you and idea if black is what your looking for. -
That video was very informative, even though I don't think the 3.5 is quite like that. I guess the factory didn't use anti seize?

Plasti dip your grill. You can find some pics and threads about doing this here. You can also search youtube for plasti dip and get all kinds of ideas. Search the forum and I'm sure you'll find the answers to your questions. I have no experience with 2 and 3. I purchased a 08 Limited last year and couldn't be happier with it, except for the plastic chrome wheel covers.

Great post! Makes me want to go change my plugs now. I'm at about 61k miles.

I'm no expert on this but I want to add this as well. The 77 series fipk is metal as opposed to the 57 which is plastic. Think heat... The metal one has been proven to have less HP gains than the 57. That also goes along with what Dingo said. I think the 77 series is little more than bling for the engine bay. K&N can increase HP and Torque. They do provide dyno sheets for some vehicles. I had one on my colorado, which K&N provided a dyno result for. http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/57-3043_dyno.pdf And my butt dyno noticed a difference too, lol. Bottom line is with the right part, the 57 series, and the right combination of upgrades you can realize performance benefits from a fipk, just not on an edge, IMO.

Same here. Kind of like fixing a rattle or squeak is as easy as turning the radio up, LOL

Can you get the diagnostic codes and post them? I had the cam phaser solenoid go bad on my previous vehicle and I pulled it out and cleaned the screens because they were clogged. Put it back on in and that fixed the problem. I've also heard the screens can fall off them and cause problems. If the actual cam phaser went bad they will likely have to pull the front and top end of the engine apart, very involved.

2007 Edge new tail lights and camera

Looks great! Please make a how to! I know this would make a lot of people happy including myself. -
I actually hate them. I damaged 1 of them right after I purchased my edge. I came from a truck where it didn't matter what the hell you hit and wasn't as careful as I should have been. They cannot be repaired which sucks, at least from what I have found out. And that is why I was curious about what was under the plastic.

Aren't the door handles plastic too? Damn it.

From what I have heard it's epoxied on. You would have to chisel or grind it off. You should try to find a damaged one really cheaply and try to strip it.

I hear pool noodles work great as spacers. I have 2 kids one in a rear facing and one in a front facing car seat. I don't have any problems getting the seats to mount correctly on either side, never tried the middle though. The fact that the rear seats recline makes it real easy to get the car seats in the correct position.

You didn't read what akirby said correctly. I'm in the same position. Not sure if I want to extend the warranty on my Edge. I have purchased 1 extended warranty and didn't use it, don't remember what it cost but let's just say $900. My wife before we were married purchased an extended warranty and used it for a repair that cost $300, and there was a $50 deductible. Let's just say her warranty cost $900. I've owned 5 vehicles since 2000 including the edge and never had an engine or transmission go out. Most repairs outside of that are in the $50-$500 range. And I haven't had many repairs that cost more than a couple hundred outside of shocks and bushings which are normal wear items that aren't covered under warranty anyway. Hum, I think I just talked my self out of buying the extended warranty, LOL.

I wouldn't mind knowing myself. I had imagined roughly casted unfinished metal.

Swap the rear tail lights?

In for updates! -
I saw a thread on this site about this with pics. It may be a connector for the AWD system or the power lift gate if you don't have one or both. There was even a diagram too.

Crazy. I bet you can get a new plug from your FLAPS that has an integrated washer.
