What are people towing with there EDGE's

Thanks! but negotiating today didn't go in my favor i'm not giving my edge away for peanuts, im staying firm on what I want for trade in. So looks like we'll just be installing an aftermarket hitch seems like the draw-tite is a good one among the edges. I've come across some really good reviews here on the forum and online about the draw-tite . But as I mentioned before i'm sure as long as I stay with something that weighs less than 1100lbs i'm sure the edge will be fine. Just have to get through this winter then camping here we come haha So the dealer called first thing this morning and came up on trade and agreed to our terms we pickup our 2013 F150 FX4 crewcab tomorrow i have to admit it's kinda bittersweet... -

No worries in the late reply I think my edge can tow up to 2000 lbs because it didn't come with the factory towing package but I am unsure. But the hubby and I went out and test drove an explorer and an F150 and I think we might be leaning towards trading in my edge for an F150 FX4 crewcab fully loaded in sterling grey metallic. Needless to say as soon as we stepped back into the truck the hubby knew he wanted it he didn't even consider the explorer lol although the explorer is very nice. We figured with 3 kids now and our dog and all of our stuff it might just be better to upgrade to something bigger that we know can handle the towing capacity with no issues. I love my edge to pieces and I know i'll be a shedding a tear if I trade her in but know the FX4 will be a good family hauler with more space and will be ready to work when the time comes for a new camper. -

Abnormal is your edge equipped with the factory towing package? We're looking at buying a pop-up tent trailer to go camping. But my edge (2011 edge 3.5 V6) we purchased it without the factory tow package, didn't even give 1 thought about it at the time when we bought our 2011 two years ago unfortunately. We have started to look into installing an aftermarket trailer hitch and have already found that we should stick to a trailer no longer than 8ft and perferably have the dry weight stay under 1200 lbs, we have found some trailers for sale online that weigh less than this. The last thing I would want to do is ruin my transmission and or other parts towing a small tent trailer. Does anyone know of a good repututable aftermarket trailer hitch that is a good fit? sorry if it's been asked before. Do you think my edge could pull a small tent trailer and five passengers or would I be over taxing it? (these are the times when I miss our old F150 FX4 crewcab ). -
I know how it feels to go from a big truck to an suv as we use to live out in the country it only made sense to have a truck. We had an 04 F150 FX4 crewcab lifted we loved it but once we moved to the city the gas mileage on that thing was horrible hence we sold our truck to get a more gas friendly vehicle and I completely agree that it's way easier to park to. I find my edge handles just great in the snow and that's with the all season michelins on it's a great suv and you'll both enjoy the better gas mileage thats for sure and before I forget congrats on the new edge

I've had my edge just over a year now and love it best choice I made by far!. I think the only thing I regret not getting done was getting the fabric protection on the seats as my 2 kids tend to spill in the back. Love the ambient lighting so happy that I got this option and the heated seats are awesome to have in our Canadian winters. Only issues I've had was the apim had to be replaced but my dealer was great in getting it replaced quickly and my ford emblems corroding which warranty covered. Mechanically she runs fine and we've had no issues in regards to reliability. Found a set of the 20 inch chrome clad wheels off a 2012 locally and we'll be putting them on in the spring as we figured our 18 inch michelins would be better in the snow. Overall I love my edge we get compliments and asked questions about it all the time :shades: .

don't think anyone is hating surely it just got missed by the way looked at the pics of your new edge it looks great I really like the sel appearance package that they added for the 2013 models I love those wheels! and congrats on your new edge! I'm sure you'll love it for many years to come ^_^

I guess it would really depend if you "really" wanted those extra options, could you live without the vista roof and all the extra's? I think it's a good deal on the 2011 limited and as far as I know the 3.5 V6 engines are the same from the 2011 to the 2013 models. From my own experience the MFT in my 2011 works great and always did from the day I bought it the only hiccup I had was when Ford sent out the usb update and they had to replace my apim which was covered under warranty just in case you didn't know Ford extended the warranty by 1 year on the SYNC modules when they sent out the new update so the 2011 should have an extra year of coverage for the module just so that gives you some peace of mind, but just to be safe I would clarify with your dealer. But in the end it comes down to what you really want. Let us know which one you decide to get and post some pics!

Wow that looks amazing, gotta say I think it really blends well with the color of your edge especially in the 1st picture where you can see the metallic in the wrap and from your paint. Great Job!

it's on the instrument panel on the bottom right it's always been there just not as noticeable as it was on the touchscreen lol hope that helps!
