Looks awesome! Did they make any changes to the drivetrain or performance in the '08's? Enjoy your new Edge....again....

See, and I was thinking top and bottom chromed if anything...

I'm with ya on this one! PLUS...it just looks sooooo cool with just the fogs and park lights. How did you hotwire them to have them on all the time? Can you gimme a breakdown? Thx! Steve

It's sharp looking but as mentioned previously, it's just too much of the same thing throughout. I'm going back to stare at it longer now and see if I change my mind...

I agree... as I posted on another section of the forum, we just got back from our first road trip with the Edge and found the same thing. It tended to kick down into 5th often and even with a slight incline in the road. A drawback of a 6 speed I guess... The only difference to what you described is that I found the same thing whether on cruise or not. Not a huge deal really... Enjoy your Edge!

Appreciate it! So far I'm really happy with it. The ride is certainly amazing for a crossover vehicle. Enjoy yours too! Cheers, Steve

Observations after the first road trip

No kidding. It's rampant throughout this forum which is unfortunate. It only takes a couple people to set the tone of the board but hopefully we can get past it. I'd prefer to not be one of those people to wreck it for everyone else... Cobrajet and I had a disagreement and he got a tab bit hostile and vulgar but hopefully he's big enough to move on. I'm done with it and came here for gaining insight and sharing experiences. There's no right or wrong to that so it shouldn't be that difficult. Cheers, Steve -

Thank you for trying to keep this a good source for sharing information. -

Sorry...tilted down. I'm not a big fan of lumbar support personally and have never used it on my last few cars that have the option of inflating it. The seats are comfortable for me (6'2" 235lbs) as is. -
Edge Vista Roof Problems

No issues so far on mine. I'd be interested to know if there's something proactive we could do to prevent problems with it. -

It's OK CJ... I didn't expect you to get the big words... Why are you here? You have zero value... -
Thanks Scoopo. I would have taken more but my wife started giving me "a look" every time I pulled over for a picture and asked her to get out so I could take a picture of the Edge!

I dunno... I think it looks sharp on the black...personal preference I guess...

So we took her to the mountains this weekend and put on over 1000kms. Thought I'd give my feedback here on what I found; - One of the smoothest rides of any vehicle I've driven - Extremely quiet even at highway speeds - Moderate passing power and not as aggressive at highway passing as I anticipated - I wish the steering wheel tilted more - Even through moderate inclines, it was constantly kicking down into 5th which I was surprised at. My 24V Taurus just pulled the hills and only kicked down when climbing more substantial hills. A drawback of a 6 speed tranny I guess… - I've read a couple of times on this forum about the Edge pulling to one side. Even though it wasn’t consistent to “one side”, I noticed however that this vehicle is very susceptible to the crown of the road and therefore requiring more effort in the steering wheel. - I wish there was a gear between “drive” and “Low” for gearing down. OD just doesn’t make much of a difference especially in city driving. - RPM’s were almost 1000 less than my Taurus at 130 kph though overall mileage was similar. Weight and AWD making the difference. These aren’t complaints but rather observations. I’m certainly not disappointed as it’s one of the nicest overall vehicles I’ve driven. I just thought I’d share my opinions… Steve

Thank you my dear! We had a BLAST and kept the rubber side down the entire trip! We ran into a bit of snow going to Banff and it snowed an inch or so overnight. Not enough to go get stuck in or at least try to! We went to the Banff Springs Hotel for an AMAZING buffet breakfast and I took a picture there and a couple of others on the way back home. It's one of the most incredible places on earth!

We're heading to the Rocky Mountains (Banff) tomorrow for the weekend and the forcast is calling for SNOW on Friday night up to 4 or 5 inches! Hopefully it's enough to try out the AWD while driving up the side of a mountain!! :happy feet:

Do you mind if I ask the reason you purchased an Edge?

You'll find the info here that has been discussed on the forum about this; http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=711 as well as here in the Ford catalog; http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/b2c/catalog.asp I don't see anything about matching paint colors so I assume it's black or black...
