  1. Richy, Is there a good reason to use CQ instead of Zaino Z2 or Duragloss 601/105? I seem to get about 4 to 6 months out of the Z2 which is plenty of time to make it through the winters here.
  2. I think the wrap around AVS is installed by taping it to the hood which I'm not to crazy about. I have not seen a hood deflector on a 2011+ but I would guess that the rubber weatherstrip that seals the front of the hood super tight would have to be removed. I had a AVS Bugflector 2 on my 2010 but I think a strip of the clear bra stuff is the way to go on the newer Edge's.
  3. NY, any chance you could take a few pics of the low beam pattern against a wall? If it looks good, a buddy of mine might go with low beam HIDs on his 2010. Is that just the camera or do your HIDs have a little green tint to them?
  4. Man it's nice to be an old Do-it-Yourselfer! Not sure why there is ever a need for an alignment unless parts are replaced or ya had an accident.
  5. Maybe if you replaced the fluted plastic lens with an amber dome that hung down at least a 1/2 inch. It still would not be in the best position but would probably work decent. I agree that they don't do much but they look pretty cool with an LED swap.
  6. Gonna pull it this weekend and see if there is a good way to shim the housing. Thinking I might be able to slip a washer on a mounting stud or something. Anyone here ever pull a headlight housing out on a 2011+?
  7. I would fight tooth & nail for a new vehicle!
  8. Any way to make horizontal adjustments to a 2011's headlights? My passenger side seems to be aimed way to far left.
  9. My 2011 SEL FWD just got 28.3 mpg on a 600 mile trip. About 200 miles at 74mph and the other 400 at around 64mph. This is according to the idiot gauge and it was all highway. The realtime MPG readout can really help drivers achieve the best possible mileage. I average about 23mpg in mixed driving.
  10. Great work! Very very cool. Did you think about doing the gauge cluster with blue instead of white?
  11. Yes, you will need two kits if you are gonna do both low and high beams. You may want to snoop around a little first and try to find out how HIDs perform in the older Edge's halogen reflectors. You probably won't be happy if the beam pattern is terrible or oncoming drivers are flashing you all the time because of glare. Are you trying to get better lighting or do you just like the way HIDs look? If you want brighter lights, the halogen low beam bulbs can be upgraded with very good results. If I remember correctly, I was able to use a 9005 bulb in place of the 9006 in the low beams of my 2010 which really boosted the lumens. Also, I think 9012 and 9011 HIR bulbs can be used in place of 9006 and 9005 bulbs which are the brightest of the halogens. One thing I know for sure is that the headlights on my 2010 were waaaay better then my 2011.
  12. Ford must have decided that profits are high enough to include this little tray again!!! My 2011 is from the "Dark Years".
  13. Maybe a bad PCM or clogged fuel filter. Sounds like poor fuel flow at low RPM. I would ask them if they changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel lines.
  14. I battled a 2004 Taurus for a year with WD40 before I gave up and replaced the whole latch. Not happy to hear that the Edge can suffer from this same problem.
  15. Rick, a video would be awesome but even a simple diagram would be cool. I would like to see how and were you connected all the wires. Are you using basic 5 pin relays? I need to get this done but have not done my research yet.
  16. The Infinitys are a solid choice. The swiveling tweeters can make a huge sound difference in the Edge's low mounted fronts. Harnesses make it easy to utilize the factory speaker connectors. Pretty easy to just do the job yourself. Dingo posted some great pics of were to find all the door panel screws. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/9023-2012-door-removalspeaker-install/page__hl__%2Bdoor+%2Bpanel Make sure to rotate the tweeters to the best position before buttoning her up!
  17. Since you keep your vehicles for 10 years I would make sure to get exactly what you want.
  18. That's a really good pic of Fords famous "Orange Peel" paint jobs!!!!!
  19. The 1st time I put them in I never fired up the engine and drove around with them. I've now had them in for about a week and have only had the rapid flash happen once. Not sure why they are working now. I'm guessing the power draw is just enough to prevent the bulb-out sensor from activating. I need to get them out until I run relays cuz ya just can't see the amber signal at night with the white leds lit.
  20. Mine looked about the same. I just washed it very carefully in the sink and slid it back in. Smells like Dawn dish soap!!!
  21. Any legality issues with this mod? Was wondering if the signal light has to be amber.
  22. New development with these cheap e-bay switchbacks. I've had them in a few days and they no longer cause the fast blink. Matter of fact, they are working perfect. Not really sure why the fast blink went away. Now, if I can just figure out how to get the white leds to shut off when signaling with the parking or headlamps on. The amber signal shows up just fine during the day when I don't have the headlights on.
  23. C, not sure if you want to see the cheap SB's or the chrome/amber bulbs. Here's a link to the bulbs. I have them in the front and rear turn signals and they work great and look awesome. Eliminating the amber from the tail lights really looks nice!!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/3757-Silver-Chrome-Natural-Amber-Bulb-/170745668393?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c13c2329
  24. Messed around with these cheap e-bay SB's again. Like Shantz did, I reversed the wires on the backwards one and it now functions properly. Only one of mine causes the rapid flash. These would actually work just fine if we could figure out a way to turn off the white leds while the signal is activated. The white leds are really bright but a little on the cool side. After looking at them for a while, I think I actually prefer the amber look when driving around with only the parking lights on. I think I'm gonna stick with the chrome coated amber bulbs I installed.
