  1. I finally had mine replaced this morning and did end up going with the Carlite Soundscreen. Only thing that looks a little strange to me is that I can see a foam strip running across the very bottom of the new windshield from inside. I don't remember seeing any foam weatherstrip??????
  2. Check to see if your 2011 qualifies for the free throttle body replacement. My 2011 got a new one a few months ago. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/21405-throttle-body-recall/
  3. Grill looks pretty cool but I'm not sure about the black paint or wrap on the hood. What's on the hood????
  4. I just purchase a cheap new 28" blade at Wally, slide out the rubber, cut it to size and replace the original rubber on the old one without removing it. Not for everyone but I've been an SUV owner for a really long time.
  5. Same noise I was getting but now it's turned into a thunk when going over bumps. I replaced the sway bar links and had the suspension checked a few weeks ago. Everything is tight including ball joints and tierod ends. Like I said earlier, I'm gonna get to replacing the struts and strut mounts pretty soon. Enigma2 posted a good video in this thread about strut noise that may help: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22938-strut-noises/ Might be worth using your warranty depending on the deductible and please let us know what the problem was if ya get her repaired soon..
  6. Not many miles on your 14 are ya still under warranty??? My 2011 started doing what might be the same thing at around 65,000 miles. I'm thinking strut mount bearings and will be changing them soon.
  7. Not good. Hopefully it was just a bad job balancing them.
  8. Just had the booster replaced today in my 2011 at 95,000 miles. Brakes were still functioning fine but that snake under the dash was getting louder and louder. The hissing is definitely a dead giveaway cuz the new booster is completely silent.
  9. I'd get her into a dealer or trans shop pretty quick. I'm far from an expert but would guess you have a seal/gasket going bad. Hopefully it can be repaired without tearing into the trans.
  10. Just to add to your thread, isn't there a simple test to check for a failing booster? My 2011 is starting to hiss a little louder.
  11. I just did the plugs in my 2011 with 90,000 miles on her. Changed them cold and didn't have any problems. I used a little anti-seize when installing the new plugs. A little tip for ya: just cut the tape to remove the wire harness running across the front of the intake and re-tape it when you're done. It's better and easier then trying to remove the plastic harness brackets.
  12. This just hit slickdeals but I'm not seeing any great deals on 245/60/18s this time around. https://slickdeals.net/f/10423748-discount-tire-labor-day-sale-up-to-320-on-tires-and-wheels-8-29-9-6?v=1 Should have jumped on this deal but didn't wanna store them for a year: https://slickdeals.net/f/10328304-cooper-discoverer-srx-105h-tire-245-60r18-set-of-4-300-after-pickup-discount-rebate-walmart?v=1&src=SiteSearch
  13. Thanks Addi. I usually rent tools from Advance Auto for free but might pick up that same set from Amazon. I'm over in the Plymouth area.
  14. I now have 33,000 on the YK580's and will be surprised if I make it to 50,000. Been doing a lot more city driving these days so I'm not to disappointed especially since we got them for $284.00!!!! I remember being happy with a set of Kumho's I had on a Taurus but that was many moons ago.
  15. Did you use a spring compressor at home or did you run them up to a shop???? Thinking of just renting a compressor kit from Advance.
  16. Torn between Motorcrafts and Monroe OE Spectrums. Kinda thinkin that Monroe's will provide the softer ride.
  17. Thanks guys! It does sound more like a strut mount bushing. I can feel and hear it when going over even small bumps. Still deciding on strut brand but will go ahead and order the Motorcraft strut mounts this week.
  18. 2011 SEL 94,000. Checked front suspension and everything is tight including swaybar links. I know I have a strut bearing starting to growl a little but has anyone ever gotten any clunking from a bad front strut or strut mount????
  19. Strut bearings can make some funky noises.
  20. Didn't realize that Monroe was so bad these days. I always liked their Sensa-trac model and had them on many vehicles. I remember taking the fake Ranchos off my new 2003 F150 FX4 a month after I got it and installing a set of 4 Sensa-tracs. The roads in Michigan are so bad that I've always preferred softer shocks and springs. I no longer have my 2014 MKX but I really miss the soft ride compared to my 2011 SEL.
  21. Has anyone installed a set of Monroe OE Spectrums??? I'm thinkin that Ford probably uses the cheapest junk out there and almost any aftermarket strut will be way better then stock.
  22. If your Edge is in really good shape a Jasper or Motorcraft long block may be worth the cost. Michigan vehicles can get pretty rusty in 6 years so ya may wanna give it a good once-over before deciding. Just had some good friends put a Jasper in their 90,000 mile 2010 F150 for $6500.00 including labor. I think the motor cane with a 3 year warranty.
  23. That led lights up the gear selector in my 2011. I broke mine when I rewired the center console power point. Been thinking of getting back in there and trying to fix it.
  24. Mac, my 2011's front suspension is starting to knock a little while going over bumps. I already did the swaybar links. What usually goes first up front??? Just hit 90 Grand.
