  1. thanks Choff.. good to hear that it was a big refresh, that's been my impression as well.. I just wanted to hear it from an owner.. I feel like 18-20mpg is pretty low.. granted I'm coming from a car that gets about 28-30, but still.. is your 18-20 mostly city? I've been reading through some mileage threads that I could dig up and seeing some get really good gas mileage (mid-20s) when they keep their speed in the 65mph range.. most of my driving right now is highway, and I hope not to give up too much in terms of mileage especially with the gas prices rising as they are.. I wonder if the dealer would let me "borrow" the car for a day and see how it goes (the subaru dealer offered that when we bought the outback).. do the 2010 and earlier model have anything like the Sync system?
  2. I'm considering purchasing an Edge in the next 6 mos. or so, as I have a growing family (#2 on the way) and am currently driving an Acura RSX Type-S - not exactly the optimal family car.. As far as I can tell, the Edge is a really nice vehicle but that it comes at a price .. its price point certainly comes in higher than its competition (I'm looking at cars like the Venza for example).. One of my biggest questions is about mileage.. what's the real-world mileage that people are getting with their Edge's? is the 2011 model a significant bump over prior years? I work from home twice a week typically and commute mostly highway the other three days, putting about 200 miles on the car each week.. so I don't drive crazy miles, but the Edge may become our de facto family car (our other car is a 2009 Subaru Outback).. Would it be worth it to look at the 2010 model, to see if I can find a used one or a leftover at a reduced cost? is the 2011 model enough of a "refresh" over the 2010?
