  1. If the fans aren’t working just replace them. You get the fan and the control module as one unit. OEM is much better than Dorman and the other aftermarket units.
  2. Not directly. The way it works is the computer monitors the actual shift time vs. target and it will adjust the shift pressure as needed to maintain the shift quality to the factory spec. This is to account for manufacturing tolerances and wear over time. It should not reduce power and if it did it would probably throw a code.
  3. 2 reasons: 1 - many people have died from CO poisoning because they left the engine running in the garage. Most are elderly but it's not that difficult to do if you're distracted given most engines today are very quiet at idle. 2 - it is alerting you so that you don't inadvertently drive off without a fob. Let's say your wife is driving and thinks she has her fob in her purse but does not. You have your fob in your pocket. She drops you off at work and drives away without a fob. The vehicle will keep running until she turns it off but once it's off for more than 20 seconds she can't restart it and if she's not at home she's now stranded. You do get a message in the dash that there is no key and another one tells you to restart within 20 seconds but those don't always get read. The unlocking sound happens even if it's already unlocked. You can check the red LEDs to see if it's really locked or not. If you want it locked you have to lock it yourself. Some mfrs have this autolock feature and I would like it too, but not Ford. You can avoid the honks by not closing the door all the way, turning the vehicle off or leaving the fob in the vehicle. Or delete it with Forscan.
  4. You would not believe how many people gripe about the double honk and resort to hacking the PCM to get rid of it.
  5. I remember reading about this 5-10 years ago. I thought we would have more production 48V systems by now.
  6. You have to use the keypad to lock the fob in the vehicle.
  7. Yes. I use freeware called "itunes export" to create the playlist files (from itunes obviously) so I'm not 100% sure of the format, but you should be able to google it.
  8. Because he bought it there used and it came with a warranty.
  9. Not usually. Normally it would overheat and/or burn coolant (white smoke) and would run rough. No start is either a lack of spark, fuel or air or bad timing.
  10. The doors don’t lock or unlock until you touch the handle if you’re referring to Intelligent Access.

    Dust

Not really. Maybe a little. Get a California duster brush.

    Dust

It’s because you had lighter colored vehicles before and just didn’t notice it. It’s the main reason people don’t buy black vehicles - they’re even more noticeable. There isn’t anything you can do about it assuming the surface is already smooth and slippery from the sealant. If not you might try a wax on top of it but nothing is going to keep it 100% clean.
  13. Just had this addressed at the dealer on our 16 mkx. I have not retested it or checked the paperwork to see exactly what they say they did.
  14. There aren’t enough questions for a dedicated sub-forum. The lane keeping button is on the end of the turn signal stalk. You’re hitting it accidentally. You have to turn on adaptive cruise in the menu, otherwise it works just like regular cruise control. Once it’s turned on it will automatically maintain the distance to the vehicle in front - it does not do any alerting. Please read the owner’s manual which describes how all these features work.

  16. I’m sure it was somehow your fault..... We had a laser light that shined down from the ceiling onto the dash. It was tied to the opener sensors. Worked great.
  17. Not true. It is covered by the factory warranty if it occurs during the warranty period. Ford simply chose not to extend the factory warranty on these parts. Recalls are strictly for safety issues. I do think they should have extended the warranty.
  18. I’ve always seen the opposite problem - they leave too much room. Including on the sides. They’ll have 2 feet on either side but are afraid to try it.
  19. It’s easy to learn but most women have a hard time with spatial relationships. Get one of those tall flags on a cone and let her practice getting close to it.
  20. Trade for a new MKX? It works great. Almost impossible to retrofit though.
  21. Would they do this in Europe but not in North America? Even if it's a different supplier?
  22. When it's live the link will be ford.naviextras.com
  23. Of course not. It's not live yet. Look at the URL - that's a development/beta version of the website. Looks like it's almost ready to go though.
  24. Only time for me is when I'm hitching or unhitching the trailer and my hands are near the sensor.
