  1. From your owner's manual: The autounlock feature will unlock all the doors when: • the ignition is on, all the doors are closed, and your vehicle has been in motion at a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h); • your vehicle has then come to a stop and the ignition is switched off or to accessory; and • the driver door is opened within 10 minutes of the ignition being switched off or to accessory. It has worked that way on all Ford vehicles for at least the last decade, maybe longer.
  2. auto-unlock only happens when you open the driver's door.
  3. Purge valve or evap cannister. Lots of threads on both - use the search function.
  4. Pretty sure that went away with the 2011 model. I used it all the time on our old 2008.
  5. If you leave the door open and press the lock button - do the lights flash and the doors lock? The lights should flash twice and the horn should sound once or twice. Based on the order guide only the Limited and Sport have the perimeter alarm feature and only if you get the right option package. Don't ask me why - sounds stupid to me. Maybe the open door feedback is tied to the perimeter alarm function.
  6. With an iPhone you can use Siri to compose custom text message responses.
  7. purge valve or evap cannister. There are numerous discussions on it - try the search feature.
  8. Because the Sony system has more speakers and separate amps?
  9. It transfers heat between 2 plates with semiconductors. Depending on which side you're on and/or the polarity of the current you get heat or cold (lack of heat). A fan blows air across the device. Think of it like a miniature window air conditioner - it blows cold air on the inside and hot exhaust air on the outside. But it does it with electrical components instead of compressed gas.
  10. The Peltier devices also produce heat. It's a pretty cool device.
  11. The TED (thermo-electric device) is called a Peltier device and it heats or cools depending on the polarity of the current.
  12. Call the service mgr and tell them there is no reference in the paperwork to replacing the brake booster and see what they say.
  13. Nope. The 2015 Edge was Gen II but the Gen II MKX did not debut until the 2016 model year.
  14. Yes you can do it yourself. The instructions are in the owner’s manual.
  15. Only looks. Most buyers like the larger wheels with lower profile tires. The 18s usually ride better because there is more sidewall, but Ford does a great job of tuning the suspension so that there isn’t a big difference in ride quality with 20s, 21s or 22s.
  16. Why? He’s exactly right. You should be paying attention to the road in front of you.
  17. And I’m saying when a driver is looking DOWN at their phone or other things in the vehicle they won’t notice a flashing brake light ahead of them because it’s not in their peripheral vision. If you disagree that’s fine - there isn’t any point continuing to argue about it.
