  1. Not safer than the passenger doing it. If you allow the passenger to do it then you also allow the driver to do it while driving. Ford experimented with 2 different technologies to allow the passenger but prevent the driver and neither were successful. Its so easy to just say “Destination address” “123 main st atlanta”.
  2. $4K? Most are in the $1500-$1800 range.
  3. Why not just rip all the CDs to one thumb drive? It’s really easy and you don’t have to worry about changing CDs.
  4. 50 is the absolute maximum not the recommended pressure. Stick with 35.
  5. Just to make sure - because this has happened before - you’re reaching inside the door handle like you’re going to open it, right? The sensor is on the inside of the handle. Does it fail on both front and rear drivers side doors? Does the lock touch function work?
  6. Not date of manufacture. The warranty starts on the delivery date. But you are correct that the 7 years is from the OEM warranty start date.
  7. Because it’s a flaw in the block coolant passages. They used a slot and that lead to cracking in the block. They changed it to a drilled passage.
  8. Most mfrs didn’t allow that but some have changed recently. But it’s also because Ford has allowed you to use voice control to manage destinations for over a decade. Easier and safer,
  9. Not that I’ve seen reported but they still have a lot of edges waiting on chips so not surprising,
  10. Most likely yes. Only concern is that the wheels clear the brake calipers and 20s are usually big enough. Make sure to use the OEM 20” tire size.
  11. Meanwhile Ford’s average transaction prices jumped by $9K! They’re making up for lower volume with higher profit margins.
  12. I’ve never gotten more than 35K from any tires regardless of rating. My 21” Pirelli scorpions only last 25K.
  13. It sucks but they just aren’t able to build very many due to the chip shortage and other vehicles getting priority. Have you checked surrounding inventory? What’s your zip and what exactly did you order?
  14. I never use manual input. “Destination address”. “123 Main Street Atlanta”. Hit the Start button. Couldn’t be easier.
  15. If it’s more than 3 yrs old it’s either bad or about to be bad. Obviously it’s good to test it IF you have a digital tester that measures CCA and not the old style testers or voltmeters. Those are worthless.
  16. You can’t go by voltage on the battery. You need a digital tester to check CCAs. If it’s more than 3 years old I would just replace it and see if that fixes the problem. If not then you can rule that out and not worry about it for 3-4 more years.
  17. Sounds like the USB ports are bad or it could be the APIM (controller).
  18. The problem is Edge is on an old dead platform and going away in a couple of years so they’re just not going to put any effort to fix something that is t causing a real problem.
  19. I don’t think it’s that simple and even if it were doing that on a few hundred thousand vehicles is neither simple or cheap.
  20. Technically yes but there is no reason to turn it off and it’s not worth the effort to remove the menu option.
  21. The point is tempered glass is not a safety hazard when it breaks so adding the plastic laminate to keep it together doesn’t make it more safe. I guess laminated tempered glass might be stronger but I don’t think it’s safer.
