  1. Does the surface pro work with other Bluetooth speakers? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
  2. BS. The computer won’t try to downshift if it would hurt the transmission, especially after it had already downshifted and you were accelerating. 2 things I can think of are the throttle body or a fuel problem. If you can reproduce it, have the technician ride with you then try the same thing on another Edge and show him that it doesn’t happen on that one, just yours.
  3. They changed map suppliers for MFT at one point so it’s possible. But more likely cost cutting.
  4. On the JD you just press and hold a button to keep the blades going in reverse.
  5. They must be changing map providers and the new one isn’t ready yet. Or this was a victim of Field’s stupid cost cutting.
  6. When idling with the engine warm, put A/C on max and both fans should run. At this point I would just go ahead and replace them. I think the parts are around $150 maybe a bit more (get OEM not aftermarket) and it’s a 30 minute DIY job at most. There are detailed instructions posted here somewhere from autom8r. At least that way you can rule out the fans if it happens again.
  7. I quit bagging years ago and just got a good mulch kit. Never had a thatch problem (Bermuda).
  8. Trust me - not google. Selectshift is not a type of transmission - it’s a feature. All Ford selectshift trasnsmissions are normal torque converter automatics just like every other electronically controlled normal transmission. I know the Ford transmission engineer who worked on the shift calibration for the first Ford selectshift automatic transmission in the 2000 Lincoln LS which was the 5R55N - same transmission used in Ranger and Explorer. It’s just software and a user selectable shifter. Powershift is the dual clutch tranny used in the Edge Europe automatic diesel. It’s a wet clutch version whereas the North America Fusion and Fiesta got the dry clutch version which had many problems.
  9. I think the new Draw Tite for the 2015+ Edge is the same design as the hidden hitch and doesn’t block anything. The draw tite on the 2014 escape definitely blocked the sensor.
  10. Yes it is. The 210 ps Diesel engine comes with the power shift dual clutch automatic. The 180 ps Diesel engine comes with a manual tranny. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_PowerShift_transmission
  11. Some Ford engineers believe the PTU problems are due to heat but not external heat - just friction from a buildup of tolerances in the different parts when put together in one unit. They also say the PTU fluid is fine for 150K as long as it doesn’t overheat. But once it overheats it’s toast. Since you can’t really tell when the PTU overheats to the point that the fluid goes bad, changing it frequently is a good idea. But if you’re not overheating the PTU it’s not necessary.
  12. All of the 3.5 Ecoboost engined D3/4 vehicles - Taurus SHO, Explorer Sport, MKT, Flex.
  13. The dual clutch 6 speed is only available in Europe and only on the 2.0L turbodiesel. North American Edges all use the standard 6F torque converter transmission. 6F35 for the 2.0, 6F50 for the 3.5/3.7 and 6F55 for the 2.7 (I think).
  14. If only you were in Atlanta and posted this a few weeks ago. I just replaced mine. That is the ONLY all season tire available in that size. Luckily they’re only $210 each.
  15. That’s perfectly normal downshifting. The RPM are barely jumping. Relax.
  16. To me the biggest safety change would be to require automatic headlamps that default to on when you start the vehicle. It's amazing how many vehicles drive without lights in the rain or after dusk.
  17. Do a search for TSS/OSS sensors. Not sure if those are the exact symptoms but worth investigating.
  18. Awesome. Very smooth. Need to try it in sport mode.
  19. Nope. Taken in by the “this is the only truck within 120 miles that meets your other specifications”. If I had ordered one I would have gone with the 2.7L. But hey - who doesn’t like a little extra torque? Supercab XLTs are somewhat rare especially if you’re looking for a specific color. Supercab Lariats are unheard of - there were THREE within 120 miles. All black. Would have liked to order a Lariat but there is a huge difference in rebates making the price difference at least $6K. Just didn’t seem worth it for something I’m not planning to drive every day.
  20. The so called fog lamps that Ford uses aren’t really fog lamps anyway. I usually leave them on for better lighting to the side of the road near the car. The front ones are ok to leave on - they don’t blind you because they’re aimed super low.
  21. Finally pulled the trigger and traded my Fusion on a new 2018 F150 XLT Supercab with the 3.5L ecoboost engine. Its a beast!
  22. I swear I responded yesterday. When you hit unlock does it make noise like it’s trying to unlock the doors or is it silent? If silent it’s probably the switch.
  23. My guess would be a rock of something hard got stuck between the pad and rotor.
  24. Even the cheap JDs are still pretty good. I had mine for 12 years, did my own oil changes and blade sharpening. The seat was a little cheap and the paint came off the mower deck so I pulled it off and repainted it. For the money it’s not bad. You can upgrade the seat.
  25. That’s worth the risk for sure.
