I don't think it was used very often - most owners probably never used it. On the newer vehicles you can get the same info from SyncConnect.

We're both talking about old style freezers that use ice and salt but the crank is electric. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Oster-Wooden-Bucket-Ice-Cream-Maker-4-Quart-1-0-CT/44457817

You just answered your own question. The second number in the bolt pattern is the distance between the lug holes. 114.3 does not equal 108.

Did you see my link in post #7?

I guess the big wheel ice cream sandwiches were just a weird coincidence.....
-
So I was right about the big wheel reference although I've never heard it in reference to ice cream. It's simple - it was emulating a hand crank ice cream churn. My grandparents had one and we had to take turns cranking it by hand for about 30 minutes.
-
Ahhh....Ice cream sandwiches. I have never heard them called big wheels before. And I’m also old. I was thinking take a big wheel kids plastic trike and use it to turn the ice cream churn.

Those canisters are pretty small and they’re a lot easier to use on the countertop. But if you really want to go old school..... https://www.amazon.com/Nostalgia-ICMP400WD-4-Quart-Electric-Bucket/dp/B00C5ZK93G/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_79_lp_t_3/139-8682505-6229648?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=YZA08E5M3CMCAG6X3GMK

I think anything past 3.2 should be ok with the new nav cards but I'm not 100% sure.
-
I don't think you really have 3.7. 3.8 was out years before your 2015 was built. Check your sync version in the vehicle. Should be 3.8 or 3.10. If you do have 3.7 for some reason and you're not having any problems I would not try to upgrade unless you want Siri Eyes Free or some other 3.8+ only feature.

The usb updates via the ford website are fairly bulletproof. Most issues are usually the usb drive itself or how the files were copied over/extracted. However, if the system doesn't think there is a newer version available then it won't let you download it. A dealer could force a 3.8 or 3.10 install but they'll charge you for it. You can probably find the 3.8 files on the internet but you're doing that at your own risk. I don't recall any 3.8 issues. I think I installed it on my Fusion way back in 2013 or 2014 and never had a problem until I traded it in a couple of months ago.

Engineers, Fabricators,CAD drawers, etc. Step Inside!

If you want to get a taste of what it's like to drive a supercar on a racetrack (with a coach) try www.thextremexperience.com . With discounts you can get 3 laps in a Ferrari, Lambo, Audi, Porsche 911 GT3, etc. for about $250. It's a blast. Try discount coupon xtremevip (haven't tested it lately - may or may not work). I've driven a porsche 911 turbo, 911 GT3, Ferrari 458 and Audi R8 at Atlanta Motorsports Park. They also do ride-alongs with a pro driver which are more fun than a roller coaster. -
Or a pic? You should have at least 3.8 or 3.10.

You won’t see them. It’s part of the internal algorithm that it uses to determine oil life. It’s supposed to take into account temperature and idling time e.g. If it’s working then you’ll see different intervals based on driving conditions.
-
It only seems to use mileage even though Ford says it’s a more sophisticated algorithm.
-
Oh it's definitely a design issue because it leaks internally when it fails. If it failed externally you just replace it, not the engine. But good maintenance can prevent or at least postpone the failure.
-
I know and agree - I was just pointing out that none of these engines are truly bulletproof and each has its own issues.
-
Only the transverse 3.5 and 3.7 V6 have the internal water pump. There wasn’t enough room on transverse applications for an external water pump. RWD 3.x V6s still use an external water pump as do all the other engines.

Reliability? water pump

Official Release of V3.0 for SYNC3 Has Begun

If you really had MFT 2.3 you would be pulling fuses every 2-3 days. I don’t recall anything significant in 3.10 so I wouldn’t worry about upgrading. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! -
There is a lot of oil testing analysis out there if you take the time to read through it. That will tell you if going longer than 5K miles is necessary or overkill. No need to guess.
-
But almost NEVER some sticker from a dealer or oil change place.....

Official Release of V3.0 for SYNC3 Has Begun
akirby replied to jmr061's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
3.8 was the first really stable MFT release. But if 2.3 is working for you I wouldn't mess with it. -
Simple. Dealerships are independent businesses - they’re not owned by Ford. So they can recommend whatever they want. In this case they are recommending you line their pockets with additional cash unnecessarily. You’re lucky they only did 8000 km. In the states some are still recommending 3K mile oil changes which haven’t been necessary in a couple of decades. Bottom line - ignore whatever they put on the sticker. It means nothing.
