  1. All components have been upgraded to account for the extra stress. Keep in mind hybrids have been doing this for almost 2 decades with no problems.
  2. This irritates me to no end. Why would you give them your money after they just tried to overcharge you so much? If they’re willing to sell it for $1310 after you showed them the price from the other guys they should have been willing to sell it for that before. Basically, they’re saying ok you caught us, here’s the real price. I understand it was easier to just let them include it with the truck and financing but I hate companies that do business like that. I could see if it was a couple hundred difference but not $900.
  3. The chip doesn’t work, period. Anything you noticed was at best temporary. Complete snake oil.
  4. I’ve left mine running in the driveway for over 45 minutes to do a sync update on MFT. I’m certainly not going to sit in it for that long just waiting.
  5. No it’s not because that requires you to be sitting in the vehicle when you get the warning. By turning it off you can leave it running and not worry about it.
  6. Correct. It’s not permanent but you can use it to keep the engine running while doing a sync update or something else.
  7. Of course you can. Under Settings->Vehicle Auto Engine Shutoff. Uncheck it.
  8. There should be a menu setting to turn it off temporarily.
  9. Several unnecessary posts have been deleted. I ask one last time - please keep it civil. No more warnings.
  10. Fusion isn’t going away until 2020. They will probably have a “Fusion Active” vehicle similar to Focus Active. Just not a traditional sedan body style. They’re also betting on getting more customers with hybrids and plug in hybrids - every vehicle outside of Super duty and Transit van. It’s a gamble for sure, but they’ll still have Mondeo and Focus in Europe should they need to bring them back.
  11. And with voice commands it’s completely unnecessary.,
  12. Most officers seem to prefer the added room of the Explorer over any of the sedans. But I’m guessing the sedans are a little cheaper.

    Coolant

The actual failure rate is pretty low from a percentage standpoint - probably not enough to make a separate maintenance recommendation. I suspect it's a combination of factors that have to line up to cause the premature failure so it's only really necessary to do more frequent changes if you're in that small group. But since we don't know what puts you in that small group it's just better to be safe and change it sooner.
  14. Also verify that code. Make sure the original mechanic was correct and make sure that it's not a new problem.
  15. Both should easily last over 150K miles so to me it's a moot issue.
  16. They're already cutting back rentals and rentals are going more to utilities anyway just like the retail market. And Explorer is the future of Police vehicles not sedans. Ford is pretty much the leader in that area now. Focus production is being replaced with Ranger and Bronco - that's why it was being moved to Mexico originally anyway. No net loss there. Flat Rock is being expanded for autonomous vehicle production. It should also get some new models on the CD6 platform for Lincoln. Taurus production is being replaced with the new Aviator in Chicago. If anything there will be a net increase in US factory production, not a decrease. You have to look at the big picture.
  17. They can't do that and all the other stuff they want to do with electric and hybrid vehicles.
  18. It works - you just have to turn on notifications in the Bluetooth options on the phone while it’s connected. And you can put in any destination using voice commands. “Destination Street Address” - then say the address. Works great.
  19. I dont buy the more stress argument on the 2.0LEB because it was designed from day one for turbocharging including the block and all the components. You never hear those comments about turbodiesels which are designed the same way.
  20. I certainly wouldn't continue driving it with the light on without verifying it with an external gauge. If it just flickers every once in a while it's probably ok but don't wait too long.
  21. Probably the sensor, but did you check the oil level just to be safe?
