    1st oil change 3.5

You have to remove the bottom cover. It should be at the front of the engine near the center.
  2. I don’t understand the issue with not finding new posts. Go to Activity Stream and click on unread content and customize it to show what you want. That part works fine for me. And you never miss a post that interests you even if it’s posted in some obscure sub forum. Just skip the ones you don’t want to read.
  3. Testers reported sluggishness at launch and slow up shifts.

    Ford Edge RS

Robert - we’re getting mixed rumors about the next Edge platform. Any insight as to whether it will be C2 (Transverse FWD/AWD) or CD6 (Longitudinal RWD/AWD)? The latter would make it much easier to do a proper Edge RS.

    Oil Schedule

I say motorcraft synthetic blend is just fine but full synthetic is better. That’s a lot different than “not good”.

    Oil Schedule

But you didn’t say that a full synthetic was better than a synthetic blend. You just said that Motorcraft synthetic blend wasn’t good.

    Oil Schedule

Actually they recommend using the IOLM but no longer than 10K.
  8. Any indication of the difference between the early and later version and whether the later version would fit an early Flex?
  9. I assume it's the same tranny as the Edge. This was posted by ZanatWork over on blueovalforums.com. Can anyone here help? I assume it's the 6F50.
  10. Once again, there is a transmission problem at least with the tested vehicles AND they were tested in Utah at over 5K feet above sea level.
  11. Adaptive LEDs don't actually move - they use different LEDs that point in different directions and they turn those on and off as needed. Same concept but no actual movement like the adaptive HIDs.

    Oil Schedule

Engines, engine oils and filters have come a LONG way since 3K mile changes were normal. Ford recommends somewhere between 5K and 10K using the IOLM recommendation. 3K is 1/3 of the recommended interval. The only reason dealers still recommend it is $$$$$$. ‘ If you want to find out for sure, send off a sample for oil testing. I think 5K is plenty safe even with most conventional oils.
  13. One of the other 6 topics below this one. I think this was the most active with the reviews. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/24623-2019-edge-st-update/ Also remember those test drives were done in Park City Utah over 5K feet. That makes a difference.
  14. Already discussed in the other topics. There is something wrong with the transmission programming that’s bogging it down. Disappointing but hopefully fixable.
  15. If you mean the adaptive LEDs that’s not true. IF they work at all (reports are they don’t on US cars) they work on low beam just like the adaptive HIDs.

    Oil Schedule

Unless you;re doing heavy towing there is NO reason to do 3K mile oil and filter changes. 5K minimum up to 10K depending on the oil and driving environment.
  17. That was known months ago. Most vehicles will switch to a 2.0 or 2.3 Ecoboost. There is a possibility of using the new 3.3L from the F150 down the road in some vehicles since that engine seems to be staying and may get a hybrid option.
  18. They’ve done that with BAMRs a lot in the past especially on Titaniums.
  19. The manual latch is behind the littl access panel as MACT describes here:
