Hate was an overreaction so I apologize for that but I don’t agree that we should allow members to attack each other and have to defend their purchases - that just causes arguments and unnecessary conflict. Just say “I prefer” or “I like” and don’t make judgements on other people’s purchases or opinions. Just state the facts like the ST is no faster than the Sport and leave it at that. I specifically remember someone saying that the ST had several upgrades over their previous Sport and someone else arguing with them saying it didn’t. If someone has owned both and they feel the ST has better handling that’s just as valid.

Fair enough, but there is a big difference between an opinion and stating your personal preference as a fact. There are many reasons why one person might prefer a 2018 Sport over a 2019 ST or vice versa, many of which are completely subjective. What I see are ST owners saying they think their vehicle is an improvement over their Sport and others telling them outright or at least strongly implying that they’re wrong and that’s the part I don’t like.

I agree it’s the transmission but I don’t think it’s outdated I think they just have a problem with the programming that they haven’t figured out yet. It sounds like they rushed it to production before it was really ready.
-
What usually happens is they find a specific problem or two (or the potential for a problem) with a part or factory equipment so they go back and inspect any vehicles that might be affected. There may be nothing at all wrong with those 7000 STs but they want to check to be sure. Or it may be a simple part swap. Ford probably won’t say. Hopefully it will be a quick process.

Audis are more expensive and have a nicer interior and in some cases better performance. Edges are cheaper and have cheaper interior materials because Ford puts the nicer interior in the Nautilus instead which is closer to the Audi in price and features. If you don’t think the ST is worth the price then don’t buy one. End of discussion.

You’ve made it clear that you think anyone who buys a ST over a 2018 Sport is crazy. If you prefer your tuned and lowered Sport to the ST that’s perfectly fine - more power to you. Can you please respect others who may prefer the ST for their own perfectly valid reasons?
-
These are the cases where Ford should just step up and replace the vehicle, not questions asked.
-
Also, an extra $10K over the Edge gets you a Nautilus with an upgraded interior.
-
The price difference between a base Q5 and a loaded SQ5 is at least $21K. I don't think the SQ5 gets an upgraded interior. You're paying for more power, more performance and more options over the base model. Edge is exactly the same. The $10K - $20K difference in the price of the Audi is why the Audi has a nicer interior and a better AWD system.
-
The difference between a base SE and base ST is $12K and you do get upgraded materials. The rest of the price difference is in options. We get that you hate the ST. You don't have to exaggerate everything to make your point.
-
I bet the Audi is also at least $20K more too. There is definitely something wrong with the transmission performancewise that needs to be fixed.
-
This may sound silly but check the center console, door pockets, glovebox etc for something that is sliding back and forth.

They’re all filled for life. If you don’t change the fluid it will last until the transmission dies!
-
It's a good compromise that keeps it from having another button to change from manual to auto mode. You just have to remember to shift back to D then back to S if you're in manual mode and you want to go back to S auto mode.
-
A toe problem in the rear could cause even but premature wear. It's not always camber.
-
I thought map updates came out earlier this year?
-
Were you in Sport automatic mode or Sport manual mode? Once you manually shift gears in S mode it stays in manual mode until you go back to D. At least that’s how all the other selectshift transmissions work.

Ford's AWD system has always been (at least the current gen) proactive and intelligent. It will anticipate the need for rear torque and engage it before slippage occurs (e.g. fast starts, accelerating while turning, etc.) so in that case it's better than some of the 100% reactive systems. But it's not going to constantly send any significant torque to the rear if it doesn't think it's needed. In fact new for 2019 is a disconnecting PTU that completely disconnects the rear when it's not needed for better mpg. I would think the Ford Edge ST system would be in between the other two you described.

Sometimes it's just a shipping delay but every once in awhile a vehicle gets held for some unknown reason that Ford either cannot or will not disclose even to the dealer. It's extremely frustrating for both dealers and customers. What Ford should do is if they can't ship a vehicle within 2 weeks is to immediately rebuild that vehicle (bumping another one previously scheduled if necessary) and reship it. In one case the NHTSA pulled a vehicle randomly off the line for crash testing and it turned out to be a sold (retail) vehicle. NHTSA refused to choose a different vehicle so in that case I think Ford did get the vehicle rebuilt using a special priority code.
-
I don’t know where you get your information but it’s not correct about how scheduling works. Ford “execs” are the ones who put in the priority system that gets sold orders built first. The only impact the plant has is if they have a parts shortage but even then when parts are available sold orders are built first. Outside of parts holds, delays are usually caused by the dealer not having allocation or the dealer not setting the right priority.
-
There is a peltier device in each seat (maybe two on the newer ones). It uses an electric current to generate heat or cold and a fan blows the hot or cold air into the seat.
-
Simple - your dealer has 100% control of the priority of their orders. When a dealer is given vehicle allocation by Ford (weekly), they pull all the orders from that dealer and schedule them starting with the lowest numerical priority vehicle first. If multiple vehicles have the same priority it goes by the oldest order date. Ford policy states that retail (sold) orders be given priorities 10-19 and dealer stock is 20-99. This ensures that sold orders are built before dealer stock. Ask the dealer for a copy of the DORA and/or get the priority. Either your dealer doesn’t have allocation or they have other orders ahead of you (which is completely within their control, not Ford).

Can’t help with the A/C - could be a lot of things. But the seat cooling is completely separate and has nothing to do with the HVAC system.
