  1. Actually sales are way BETTER than expected. Accessories are typically an afterthought.
  2. In that case you should be able to use regular body-side moulding stuck on with 3M tape.
  3. What about the 3M clear hood protector? If it works on hoods it should work on bumpers.
  4. Voice commands aren't available on this model of Navigation. I think it's being added for 08. I doubt you can retrofit it - I'm sure if it was as easy as just turning on the feature that they would have used it from day one. I have voice command navigation in my Aviator and I don't think I've used it at all the last 2 years.
  5. That should have triggered the alarm. I'll have to try it on my Fusion. Maybe they've made it smarter.
  6. Sit in the front seat, lock all the doors, then open the door without hitting the unlock button. The door opens even though it's locked. If you do this with the perimeter alarm on it will set off the alarm. Happens all the time when you lock the kids in the car outside a store and they decide to come inside later. If you're outside the vehicle, you can reach inside the vehicle through an open window or break the window and use the manual unlock button (or just use the door handle as evidenced above) OR they could use a tool to manually force the lock open (a flat bar e.g.). Similarly the hood or trunk could be forced open by cutting or using a pry bar.
  7. I think the Conti's were standard on both originally. They must have added the Michelins sometime in the last few months. Unless this was a dealer swap.
  8. My source is owning 7 factory alarm equipped Fords and reading the owner's manual in those vehicles. It looks like they left out this section in the Edge owner's manual (this is from my Fusion owner's manual). Triggering the anti-theft system The armed system will be triggered if: • Any door, the hood or the trunk is opened without using the door key or the remote entry transmitter portion of your IKT. • The ignition is turned to the 3 (ON) position with an invalid SecuriLock key.
  9. Factory alarm is standard but it only goes off if the door are opened. Smashing the glass and taking stuff won't set it off.
  10. Word is they now have accessory cargo covers for the MKX - they should also have them for the Edge.
  11. I'm impressed that someone actually read the owner's manual! Bravo!
  12. One of the benefits of the Ford system that isn't often advertised is it's ability to predict the need to shift torque and do it before slippage occurs. E.g. if you request WOT by stomping on the gas pedal the PCM will sense that slippage is possible and shift torque before it happens.
  13. Lower the pressure in one of the tires and see if you get a warning.
  14. Take it back to the dealer - it's under warranty.
  15. It's called tramlining and it's a combination of the road surface and the tires. Some tires are more susceptible than others. You could try raising the tire pressure a few pounds just for grins. If it really bothers you see if the dealer will swap you some Michelin tires - they're usually better than the Continentals but will cost you a bit extra.
  16. I would think 16" Fusion wheels would fit but I don't know that for sure. That would be the best chance if they clear the brakes.
  17. You broke your foot?!?! How awful! Seriously, you should always use the parking brake. It takes the pressure off the parking pawl and it's a good idea from a safety standpoint.
  18. They did have problems with pre-production models and they did make changes. Apparently the changes didn't go far enough to satisfy you. It would be nice if they did something about it (whatever that might be) but I don't see where they're obligated.
  19. How can it possibly be a safety issue? If you're that easily distracted there are always options to fix that type of problem.
  20. Why would the transmission lockup just because the engine died?
  21. You'd think so, but it's not. Expect the visor to be around $300. At least all the ones I've checked have been so far including one for a 2000 expedition and a 2006 Zephyr.
