Actually the PCM can anticipate the extra torque and shift power to the rear before the engine reacts.

Passenger Airbag light on or off???
akirby replied to berryEDGEie's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
As explained it only comes on when there is something in the seat that isn't heavy enough for the airbag. My dog turns it on. If someone is in the seat but it's not on then the airbag is armed. Did you try looking in the owner's manual? Tons of info in there. -
Buttons are only lit when they're applicable to the current function. If the button should be working but isn't then it sounds like the radio is bad.

White Sand looks pretty white to me. It's definitely not yellow like the Creme Brulee.

Hello - Redfire is still there! You're only looking at the NEW colors.
-
The drive ratio doesn't matter. It's not based on the transmission gear any more. It's all done through the ABS wheel sensors so as long as the tires are the right size and they match what's in the PCM it doesn't matter what the gearing is. Either the calibration thinks it has different size tires or there's a bug in the PCM code. Or sweetie is simply mistaken.

Who said no red? Redfire metallic is still there. These are only the NEW colors.

Dental floss works great.

I always remove them as soon as I get home, if not before I take delivery. I do not understand how people can drive around for months, even years with a dealer tag on the front of their car (no front plates required in GA). It drives me nuts!
-
Ranting and raving about it before taking the time to do some accurate data gathering is just that - ranting and raving. Gather the data to prove it's incorrect, then have the dealer check it. If you have proof and can't get the dealer to address it - then it's time to rant and rave. It's just as likely at this point that she was mistaken. In any event we don't have the ability to prove her right or wrong - only she can do the data gathering necessary for that.

Porsche Cayene Turbo owner switching to Edge...
akirby replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Welcome Forum!
I guess the Cayenne's don't come with a parking brake, huh? -
Find an open highway, set the cruise on 60 mph and time the interval between mile markers. It should obviously be 1 minute. Write down the difference if there is any. Use the trip odometer to check a 10 mile stretch using the mile markers. Write down the difference. They should both be off by the same relative percentage and from what you described it should be around 20% which is way too high. If they don't believe you then video a 10 mile trip showing the mile markers and the odometer at the beginning and end. If this is true then they just have the wrong calibration in the PCM that tells it how far the vehicle travels in one wheel revolution. The question is whether it's wrong for everyone or if yours just got the wrong calibration.

Except for the part about removing the key. You can't remove the key if it's still in Drive.

1. No. 2. Invoice is the dealer's cost for the vehicle. It doesn't normally include destination or advertising fees. If you're looking at X plan then there is a X plan price printed on the invoice which the dealer must show you. They can't add anything to this price except tax, tag and registration and any user requested dealer options. 3. The residual and terms are the same as any other RCL or RCO (Red Carpet Lease or Ownership). The difference is the acquisition cost of the vehicle is lower which reduces your payments. With X plan you don't negotiate anything - the price is fixed and the dealer can't add any hidden fees. That's the beauty.
-
The dealer has the final word on which incentives are applicable and which can be combined. This generally isn't any different for X plan users than regular buyers, so if regular buyers can't combine them then X plan user can't either. There are exceptions sometimes with special incentives for X plan that aren't available to everyone else but there is NO rule about X plan being able to combine incentives.

I think cargo management is compartments and/or dividers for keeping the cargo in place. I don't think it includes the cover but the covers are available now as an accessory.

MSRP $32,810 X plan after $1K rebate - $30,069
-
That depends on the final price after the $3K dealer discount. Forget the rebate - you get that either way. Look up the MSRP and dealer invoice. Subtract $150 from dealer invoice for the Edge or add $200 to dealer invoice for the MKX and compare those prices to MSRP - $3K. Then you have to account for the $300-$400 documentation fee that the dealer will add without X plan. I can almost guarantee you the price out the door will be less with X plan. If you can find a vehicle in stock at a dealer using the Ford inventory search I can look up the X plan price for you. Just need the dealer's name, zip and the vehicle model and last 5 of the VIN.
-
X plan is 0.4% under dealer invoice for Fords, 0.6% above invoice for Lincolns. No fees allowed.
-
We're most likely purchasing a MKX next spring and I would like to find a replacement grille for that. I prefer the waterfall grill like previous Lincolns.

You probably didn't reset it after you filled up. It just remembers the number of miles driven since the last reset and how much fuel has been used. If you don't reset it then it's giving you the average since you last hit reset, not the average for the last tankfull. The computer is normally within 1 mpg of the actual measurement - it's very accurate.
-
The MPG readout never starts over unless you hit the Reset button. You should do that often now since the mileage will continue to improve over the first few thousand miles as the engine breaks in. When you say you can't see how much gas is left, I assume you mean how many miles til empty since you already said you have a quarter of a tank so I assume you can see the fuel gauge. You need to change the display from MPG to DTE (distance to empty) - I think by hitting the Info button one or more times - it cycles through the various readouts. The low fuel message should come on with 50 miles to empty and then will come on every 10 minutes. When it displays low fuel all you have to do is hit the RESET button and it will go away for 10 minutes. You really should read the owner's manual - all this is explained in there plus a lot of other answers to unasked questions.

It's one of those things that if you've never had it you don't realize the benefits but once you use it a couple of times in those situations it's hard to do without it. As for OnStar - why would you want that?

Unless you need to find a destination or an alternate route after you're on the road. That's where the Nav has the biggest advantage.
