  1. No, it's not ok. They don't need that info. Ford has it right there in their computer so if Ford wanted it then they already have it. All they need is the PIN and your id. Period.
  2. The only ones who win in class actions are the lawyers for both sides.
  3. You don't have to present your PIN number to the dealer up front - just disclose that you'll be using one before you start negotiating on price. If the dealer gives you a trade-in value based on a regular retail sale and THEN you pull out your X plan pin the trade-in price might change and then people get angry, but it's only fair. Once you figure out what vehicle you want, pick a dealer, call the sales manager and ask if they'll accept X plan on that vehicle. They don't have to - it's 100% voluntary, but shouldn't be a problem. Your PIN number is registered to you and is in the system with your personal information. You just need to provide proof of identity along with the PIN number for validation. The dealer doesn't need anything else and if they ask they're just being nosy. Since the price is the same at all dealers with X plan just pick the one you like or the one that gives you the best trade-in (based on X plan purchase of course).
  4. Alors vous avez besoin d'apprendre à lire français. Or download the English version: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owne...als/default.asp
  5. From page 5 of your owner's manual: I'll forego the usual editorial remarks.
  6. It just slips over the back seat headrests and then attaches to 2 small hooks on the rear hatch. Easy.
  7. Like I said, sound quality and which sounds "better" is really subjective. The THX guys take a lot of time and effort to tune each and every speaker to the vehicle which you don't really get with an aftermarket system. It's probably correct to say the THX II system is more accurate as far as sound reproduction but whether you like it or not is a personal thing.
  8. Of course he was. It was a joke, son, a joke I say (apologies to Foghorn Leghorn). The new version is THX II - I think it is improved but don't forget it also depends on the vehicle. The THX systems are tuned specifically to each vehicle. Stereo sound quality is surprisingly subjective so it's hard to get a consensus on what sounds the best.
  9. That depends on whether you're looking for good sound quality or just loudness/thumping bass. It's hard to beat for sound quality.
  10. I assume those are the DRLs since you're in Canada so I don't think they can be disabled (not legally at least).
  11. S plan and X plan are the same thing (S is mazda, X is Ford). A plan is Ford employee pricing and is only available to current employees and their immediate families. Z plan is for retirees. D plan is for dealership employees. A/Z plan is the best at around 4% below invoice. D plan is $100 more than A/Z plan. X plan is around $100 below invoice.
  12. Not really - they just do what they're told. If you know how much fuel each one squirts and you know how many times they've squirted then you just do the math.
  13. The computer doesn't use the fuel gauge for MPG - it measures the amount of fuel used by the injectors versus the number of miles traveled since reset.
  14. They're right here for the downloading: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/main...ules/Getymm.asp
  15. It's not like they were hiding them. The MKX has a lot of features that the Edge doesn't have including a much nicer interior, cooled seats, better sound deadening, etc.
  16. That's done by the factory during shipping so the tires don't flat spot. The dealer is supposed to correct them before putting them on the lot but sometimes they don't. Also something to check on a test drive.
  17. Only in every post you've made in this topic. Just because you think you're funny doesn't mean everyone else does.
  18. You act like a 12 year old. Does your mommy know you're posting here? Grow up.
  19. How does cheap gas cause a loss of pressure in the fuel system?
  20. My dad had an Orange AMC Hornet station wagon with plaid seats. Please tell me there isn't a forum for THAT chick magnet. The other choice was a milk chocolate 4 door maverick with vinyl seats. At least I know nobody ever dated me for the car. Edit - Oh my. There's actually more than one! Picture this in Orange:
  21. If it's not the gas cap then it's probably the vapor recovery canister or tubing that has a leak (assuming it's the same code as before). Just take it back to the dealer.
  22. There aren't that many choices. Lexol is always good but any national brand should work fine. Leather conditioning is not rocket science.
  23. Get a good quality leather conditioner at any auto parts store.
