  1. Must be a typo on one figure or the other. You can't get the MSRP past $38K (must be the bug shield, etc.) and X plan with incentives is going to be around $33K - $34K before taxes, etc.
  2. Check the syncmyride.com website. It doesn't matter if the phone itself supports it - depends on which bluetooth version it uses and whether that supports the feature.
  3. Edmunds.com is a good source for incentives, and they usually list any dealer incentives, too.
  4. Like I said - I don't agree with it either but it is what it is. Component speakers that have separate woofers and tweeters are normally round, not oval, thus the 5.25" woofer (or mid-bass) speaker. Crutchfield gives you an adapter to fit it to the 5x7 opening. Just get the 5x7/6x8 coax speakers if you don't want to bother with mounting the tweeter. Or get a shop to install them. Having the tweeters close to ear level makes a huge difference.
  5. The door speakers are 2 way speakers and Ford counts them as 2 speakers. Not saying it's right, but that's the way they do it. I'd recommend the Polk db571 or MMC570 or Infinity Kappa 682.7cf or a 5.25" component setup like the db5250 if you want to mount your own tweeters.
  6. Absolutely, definitely yes. Do you have the high mounted tweeters in the door near the outside mirrors? If so then get the 5.25" component sets and the tweeter will drop right into the stock location. If not you can still mount the tweeters near the A pillar for much better highs. Just replacing the door speakers with better speakers will also help but not quite as much. I have the audiophile on my fusion and the Polk Audio 5.25" component set is like night and day compared to the stock audiophile speakers.
  7. Go to crutchfield.com and they'll show you what fits. It's typically 5x7/6x8 or a 5.25" component. Infinity and Polk Audio have good stuff.
  8. It might be a big deal if you have back problems like the OP.
  9. I've heard of people removing it on mustangs and such, but I don't know whether it simply unbolts or has to be cut off. Check the mustang forums for more details on the procedure and end results.
  10. You need to chill. All I was correcting was your incorrect statement about the test procedure. I wasn't commenting one way or the other about the MPG claims. I never said I had an Edge, nor do I remember that being a prerequisite for posting here. I'm planning to purchase either an Edge or MKX in the next 6 months - not that it's any of your business. And you seem to be the one dropping one liners and insults all over the place, not me. Get over it.
  11. I forget the exact term (silencer?) but yes, it's there to reduce noise. Not exactly a muffler but serves the same function.
  12. You didn't read the 2008 test procedure, did you? It now includes (at least some) A/C use and an acceleration up to 80 mph.
  13. The list of compatible phones are on the website: www.syncmyride.com .
  14. Sorry - I must have looked at it before knowing about the black dash and just assumed it was Light Stone. The seats look more grey than tan - maybe it's just the camera. I may have to reconsider the camel.
  15. Once again I'm almost positive that kmhibbs has the medium light stone interior, NOT the camel interior. So it won't be a good comparison. If not I apologize.
  16. It is a computer after all and those things do happen sometimes and when they do they're hard to troubleshoot. Glad you got it fixed.
  17. Which other vehicles can control MULTIPLE mp3 players, not just ipods, with voice control? I'm sure the iPhone features are different than normal cell phones so give them a few months to get it fully integrated. The good news is whenever the software update is ready you can just pop it onto a usb flash drive and upgrade it.
  18. But you have the Med. Light Stone interior, not the Camel - right? I don't think they're the same.
  19. You've obviously never had a leather seat rubbing against a plastic console. The cloth is there to prevent wear and more importantly - noise.
  20. It's basically a 3 button garage door opener that can be used to control lights or appliances in addition to garage door openers. Should be standard on your MKX but I'm not 100% sure. Look for an oval containing 3 buttons on the driver's visor.
  21. Clubwagon is on permanent hiatus (at least until he thinks up yet another alias). I did this myself on my Fusion using an Ebay purchased Maxima visor w/homelink. The only part I couldn't figure out was how to get the fabric off and back on without cutting it. I ended up cutting it - thinking I could put it back together and not be noticeable, but it looks terrible. I was planning to get another regular visor and try again. How do you get the fabric over the plastic piece around the post that clips onto the headliner? That's the part I couldn't figure out. And I can verify that this modification will look and work exactly like the OEM version - if done correctly.
  22. If you do it from the setup menu it should be turned off permanently. If not that's a bug. If you turn it off from the message center when you're in reverse it should only turn it off temporarily - until you restart the vehicle.
