Nope - no idea. But the original change was based on using a different torque converter with a different stall speed - that's the one that was denied based on fuel economy. They're obviously not swapping out torque converters here. If they're only changing the way the car behaves at idle by increasing the idle rpm or changing the computer controls on the transmission then that probably wouldn't have a noticeable effect on fuel economy.

Should I insist TSB's be rectified before purchasing?
akirby replied to rlassiter's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Perhaps there is a terminology gap here. I could understand recalls and service campaigns (required actions) but TSBs simply describe a solution to a particular problem that a specific vehicle may or may not have. e.g. It wouldn't make sense to perform a TSB to fix a vista roof rattle if the vista roof doesn't rattle. Unless this is one of those gov't mandates that don't really make logical sense. -
Huh? I know the Mustang and Focus don't use Torsion bar suspensions - they use coil springs in the rear and struts in the front. Not sure about the Civic or Corolla though. Are you confusing torsion bar suspensions with sway bars or torsen differentials?

I had this feature on my 00 Lincoln LS and I believe if you press the unlock button again after activating the global open it will stop (explaining why the windows were only 3/4 down). You accidentally pressed the button. Since remotes have their own unique code and each remote must be learned by the vehicle the chances of someone else having a compatible remote is, well......remote at best (pun intended).

Just to confirm - TSBs are NOT recalls. They do not represent problems that every car exhibits or that have to be fixed on every car. They are simply instructions to help dealers find and fix problems more quickly. If your vehicle exhibits a problem described in the TSB then yes, insist that it's fixed under warranty. But if your Vista Roof doesn't rattle, there is nothing to be done. -
I guess they needed the buttons for Sync/Nav. I don't think I've ever used the steering wheel climate controls anyway - and I've had them on 3 different vehicles. It's just easier for me to use the regular buttons on the ACC itself. OTOH, I always use the steering wheel audio controls. Go figure.

Don't you have Temp +/- buttons? Those are the climate control buttons.

Where did you see this? Are the order guides out yet?

Looks like $2K or low APR nationwide.

If it rolls back more than a foot or so when it's in Park then that's not normal. Rolling back when you're on a hill in Drive is perfectly normal and all automatic equipped vehicles will do that at some point. It's just that some cars do it more easily than others. The reason you can put an automatic in Drive and hold it with the brake is that there is no mechanical connection between the engine and the transmission. It uses fluid driven by a fan which in turn drives another fan that transfers torque to the tranmission. In other words, it's designed to slip when idling. In this case the torque converter is designed to slip more easily than others so it will roll back on an incline. It's normal. And you should always.....always......did I mention always?.........use the parking brake if you are parking on any type of incline. You don't want to use the transmission parking pawl to hold the vehicle.

Can't go wrong with Infinitys - Kappas are better if you don't mind spending more. You can also look at Polk Audio - they also have direct replacements and are on par with Infinity.

It's not softer - it's the same clearcoat used on the other paint colors. And extra coats won't make it harder. It's just that black shows the scratches much more than any other color. It will hold up fine but will require more care than lighter colors to keep out the swirl marks and spider webs.

I think you normally have at least 1 gallon left after it reaches 0. However, I don't know why you'd want to test it.

Those are the best kind. The non-rotational kind just won't get you very far...... :happy feet:

Were you stopped with the engine off? There is a 10 minute accessory delay - after that the radio will turn off by itself (regardless of what you're listening to). If the engine was running then I don't have an explanation.

Point out the fact that the headrests aren't the same - not just that they lean forward too much. One is a defect, the other could be considered just the way it's designed.

Wipers on with headlights?
akirby replied to Williston's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
It definitely works on my Fusion, and it takes about 10 seconds for them to come on. Make sure the switch is in the Autolamp position and the wipers are on. Wait 2 or 3 minutes just to be safe. If they don't come on then they're defective. This should be a mandatory safety feature on all vehicles regardless of whether they have autolamps or not. I don't care for DRLs but if everyone else in a rainstorm has their lights on and you don't then you're invisible. -
Use the USB cable that came with the iPod and follow the instructions in the sync manual. You won't get voice control of the iPod if you only use the headphone jack.
-
You don't need to do a hard reset, you just need to delete the device. Those are the instructions that are in the manual.
-
No - all cars do it, but some do it more easily than others.

That's not the same thing. We're talking about having the car in gear on an incline and having it roll back if you lift off the brake whereas some vehicles do not roll back. Sounds like you're talking about the vehicle moving after putting it in park. That's why they make a parking brake.
