Oops - didn't see that. In that case it truly is a dead ringer appearance wise. We also got the DVD Nav (against my suggestions).
-
That's a dead ringer for ours, except we have the power liftgate (which I didn't want but now really like). You need to get a Weathertech rubber mat for the rear cargo area ASAP!

Without X plan on a popular car, expect to pay $500 over invoice or more, plus a doc fee ($300-$400). Sometimes you can do better but I don't think any dealer would sell one at invoice right now unless they had one they wanted to get rid of or they were just having a slow month. I just bought a 08 Limited and got X plan (just below invoice with $75 doc fee) plus $3500 in rebates. $2K national plus $750 local dealer association plus $750 personal cash (from Edge brochure request). With X plan the dealer gets a spiff check from Ford for each sale so it's a win/win.

He was referring to having to use the parking brake in addition to putting it in park. Which is ridiculous - you should always use the parking brake, especially when parking on any type of incline.

That's how I felt originally, but after test driving and sitting in both I found that I actually preferred the Edge interior design and materials. And I've owned both a Lincoln LS and an Aviator and normally prefer the Lincoln interiors.

This is the battery saver feature - intended to prevent battery drain if you accidentally leave lights on, etc. This is not the convenience feature.

There is no such thing as a 60 mpg Prius. The EPA lowered the Prius mileage estimate to 45 mpg BEFORE the 2008 calculation changes.
-
That's possible only if the PCM software already has the logic. I've seen it done on a Lincoln LS where the sport models had the manumatic shifter and the base models did not - you just swapped in a new shifter and reflashed the PCM to think it was a sport model. Since no versions of the Fusion or Edge have manumatic shifting there is probably no chance of making it work.

That would only be possible if they're using different satellites/transponders for different geographic areas. But that would also require separate encoders for each one to change the compression ratios. It's far more likely that everyone gets the same compression and that some listeners and audio rigs are more sensitive to the compression than others. I'm not even an audiophile and I think it sounds terrible.

You'll be pleasantly surprised at Ford's quality compared to GM. X plan basically gets you dealer invoice (or just below) with no hassle and no extra fees. You only pay $75 doc fee instead of $300-$500. Ford gives the dealer a spiff check on each sale so it's a good deal for them, too. Go to the fordpartner.com website for details.

Hey - I'm not old. Or ole. :shades: I did buy an Edge last Saturday, though. So now I'm legal.
-
But you won't get 2% to 5% by going from SEMI-synthetic motorcraft 5W-20 to FULL synthetic. I think you're being way too optimistic.
-
So just buy it from Joe Cooper - the X plan price is the same everywhere.
-
Why don't you have a warranty?
-
I found one that's identical except for the rubber mats. Assuming you're still paying for the 20" wheels.... MSRP $37,045 X plan (after $2750 rebates) $32,014 As bbf2530 pointed out, without X plan you'll be paying at least $300-$400 in documentation fees and potentially other fees as well. With X plan you'll only pay $75. Tax, tag and title are the same. X plan is not only cheaper, but safer since the dealer isn't allowed to hide any fees or pull any tricks, keep rebates, etc.

You'll pay more for the full synthetic oil than you would ever gain back in fuel economy. So do it if it makes you feel better but don't justify it with non-existent cost savings.
-
Quick and dirty is a lot faster than thorough and neat.........
-
That's what I thought, except it doesn't mention the vista roof or sound system. And I just checked and it applies to a Edge SE model without the Vista Roof or upgraded sound system. Sun-n-sound appears to just be a catchy name for a local dealer association rebate. This must be the result of Farley giving the dealers more discretionary advertising money. I still have it - the Edge is replacing my wife's 03 Aviator.
-
That depends on the oil and the engine. Since Ford already uses a synthetic blend 5W-20 to save fuel I don't think you'd see more than a 1 or 2% increase for pure synthetic.
-
It's the same analogy. You can't claim depreciation based on what ONE dealer offered you.
-
Absolute, total BS. The dealer just doesn't want to swap them.
-
Local dealer association rebate. Not sure if it actually requires the vista roof or not - I think it's just an extra rebate with a fancy name. Check the incentives on ford.com with your zip code and it will show you if it's available in your area.
