  1. Can you type in a new destination address? That's the part that is blocked here in the U.S. It's possible Canadian versions don't have that restriction but I doubt it.
  2. It's not likely that you left a light on - the battery saver should have kicked in to prevent that (leave your overhead light on and it will automatically shut off after 10 or 30 minutes). Modern cars can drain a battery if left for more than a few days. The PCM is still running, managing the anti-theft system and awaiting your keyless entry command. I'd have it checked just to be safe - it is possible the battery is bad or there is something else draining it too fast, but don't be surprised if it comes back as normal.
  3. I was told that it had to be downloaded into the WDS tool, then uploaded into the new one but that might not be correct and the factory may have to set it. Either way it won't work right if you replace it yourself.
  4. It's possible if the wiring is the same but you might have to reflash the computer. Also be aware you must have the dealer swap the cluster and transfer over the odometer settings. If you don't the car will beep when you put it in reverse and go over 70.
  5. I was also talking about a special factory extended warranty, not just AWAs. They've done this several times on specific parts with specific problems such as the ignition coils on the 2003 Lincoln LS.
  6. Correct, but I have seen exceptions or special allowances in situations like this, especially if it's a documented problem during the warranty period.
  7. No RCAs - Crutchfield has plug in harness adapters and instructions for doing just that.
  8. I've seen a lot of them and it works fine. Just make sure you clean the calipers well before painting.
  9. I agree it's rare but getting bad gas does happen - all it takes is a leak in the underground tank. That's why I suggested trying a different station, just to rule that out.
  10. Only if it was specifically for removing water. Best bet is to run the tank almost dry and try a different station. If it still does it you can probably rule out water in the gas.
  11. It does look basically the same, not sure about the connectors.
  12. It's simple - the standard radio does not come with a subwoofer so it has no sub outputs in the wiring harness, even if the harness is the same. The Nav unit was the audiophile version. You need an audiophile head unit (with or without nav if that's an option) to get the amp outputs.
  13. Not sure about the transmission, but you might have bad gas. Try filling up at a different station.
  14. Then keep your Edge for 6-8 years. Resale doesn't matter if you don't sell it. This is a tough time for the car market in general - sales are down and there is a glut of used cars, so don't think this is simply a Ford problem.
  15. That does sound like a pump problem since it happens at idle/very low speed.
  16. There is no $50 deductible for service under Ford's factory warranty (3/36 b2b, 5/60 powertrain). Take it to the dealer and if they say it's normal ask them to show you another Edge (new or used) for comparison - if the other one doesn't do it then you've proven it's not normal.
  17. Ford Credit will not negotiate a lease buyout. They have so many they can't really afford to do one-off negotiations, even if they lose money.
  18. Tranny or the PTU? PTU seal is the common leak for AWD vehicles.
  19. Are you in the U.S. or Canada? Just wondering if this is a Canadian thing. Have the dealer test a new one on the lot and see if it works the same way. If not then you have proof that yours is not working correctly. It could also be a warning (like the door ajar warning that bbf2530 referenced above) or an aftermarket alarm - although it would be quite the coincidence that 2 different people had the same one (unless it's the same dealer).
  20. Maybe he really thought he was a chef......
  21. You'll have to stare and compare........ SEL Plus http://www.edmunds.com/used/2007/ford/edge...3/standard.html SEL http://www.edmunds.com/used/2007/ford/edge...2/standard.html
  22. It's a pet peeve - sorry. Along with calling brakes "breaks".
  23. With AWD there was a potential seal leak on the PTU. The symptom is a very noticeable leak. The PTU sends power from the front to the rear so just look for the driveshaft and make sure there's no leak. It can be fixed with the proper replacement seal and procedure. Look at the price of a similarly equipped new 2008 model. They can be purchased for near dealer invoice minus rebates. If it was me I'd need at least a 20% discount to consider buying a used one vs. a new one. Also - check kbb.com and edmunds.com for used car values and check autotrader.com or ebay motors to see what they're asking for similar models.
