  1. Most households have multiple vehicles and some of them do buy more than one new vehicle in the same year. But more than likely they don't check your purchase history and simply send the offers to whoever is in the database. Since rebates are specific to the purchaser (individual offers, local offers by zip code, etc.) and the vehicle (VIN#) the dealer simply puts your info and the VIN # into the system and it tells the dealer which offers are applicable to that purchaser and vehicle specifically, and that's what the dealer is allowed to submit.
  2. I believe they put your name and address in the VINCENT system when they send you the coupon. Then the dealer puts your info and the vehicle VIN in VINCENT and it tells the dealer the rebates that are available. At least that's what my dealer told me.
  3. Not to be a wet blanket but if those were mailed to you directly I believe that your name is attached to them in the Ford rebate system. I don't think anyone else can use them, but I'm not 100% sure. Might be worth checking before trying to use one.
  4. If that's correct you must remove the glovebox, not just open it. There is usually a release tab along the top back edge or sides after it's open.
  5. It's not the Sync system you should be frustrated with - it's the blackberry. How old is it? Check for and apply any firmware updates for the blackberry - it simply doesn't support the bluetooth text message protocols. If that doesn't work check with your phone provider or blackberry or syncmyride.com .
  6. Simple - the low fuel warning comes on when you hit 50 miles to empty, which equates to roughly 2 gallons. When the gauge gets to E you still have about 2 gallons left in reserve. So putting 15 gallons in a 19 gallon tank when the warning first appears sounds right. You can set the display to show you how many miles to empty and when the low fuel warning appears just hit reset and it will go away for 10 minutes.
  7. That would have been slightly helpful............. :shades: Glad you figured it out either way.
  8. It probably is possible but only with the IDS tool (that's a dealer tool not available to the public). So you can't set it yourself anyway.
  9. The problem is the system appears to be totally separate from the stereo system and doesn't use the speakers, therefore it would require a separate connection to tell the radio when to turn down and it's likely that doesn't exist. This is not something that would be made an option - there's no way you would want to turn off an option like that. Again - it's not impossible, just highly highly unlikely.
  10. Now I'm even happier that I went with the 18's.
  11. Undercoating is generally not recommended - it can actually trap heat, dirt and moisture and cause more problems than it saves.
  12. Definitely not a Ford thing.
  13. Actually sounds like OnStar - maybe it's a GM product.
  14. It's highly unlikely that it actually worked this way for a week (but not impossible). It was most likely a coincidence of some sort and it never actually worked that way.
  15. Can you get a picture? I don't recall anything like that on our 08 Limited, especially the CALL button.
  16. I haven't tried it on the Edge yet but in the Aviator you had a choice to save an address as a destination or as a waypoint.
  17. Same here - I think it may be moisture buildup on the rotors/pads (or glazing). I plan to try a few hard stops to see if that fixes it.
  18. Just complain to the dealer about the symptom and tell them there is a TSB to cover it. That said, there's nothing else you can do about it except to get the reflash. All vehicles roll backwards on inclines to some degree - it's a function of the torque converter in the automatic transmission. The Edge is just more susceptible than other vehicles.
  19. I just checked and the Latitude Tour HP is what's on our Edge (18") Limited. After 5K miles they're fantastic - quiet and smooth with no issues. I was confusing them with the Pilot LTX that came on our Aviator. Also a good tire but if the Latitude is $129 then that would be a no-brainer for me.
  20. I think the new Edges come with the Michelin Pilot LTX - I'll check when I get home. You can't go wrong with Michelins - but they won't be the cheapest. The Michelin Latitude Tour HP got even better survey results than the Pilot LTX according to tirerack.com. There are other less expensive choices that are also good. Tirerack.com is a good resource.
  21. I never installed the front plate on my Edge - I'll check it when I get home and see how it fastens. But it should be obvious.
  22. If you've ruled out the other possible causes, they should replace the TPMS sensors or reprogram it first. Those are the most likely causes.
  23. What, exactly, is NOT TRUE at all? It's a known problem and they're trying to fix it. Have a little patience. It's not like the engine died or the radio doesn't work.
